Absolutely, Duck l'Orange and similar dishes are delicious

I always love to find how certain ingredients compliment a main meal like orange and duck

But you must have lots of excellent Chinese restaurants where you live in Oz? I assume you have tried Peking Duck ?

I've tried it a few times, but to be honest, as nice as crispy duck skin is, I prefer it with a bit more duck meat on it 😁

edit: in years past, I usually had Chinese food together with a Tawanese friend of mine when either living in or visiting Melbourne. He knew the decent places and often recommended what he thought looked nice. Not so much duck as beef and noodle combos with various sauces and seasonings.

edit2: ...and dumplings, lots of dumplings! 😂

Found my great uncle's LARPing coat of arms. I have decided to give my family the best motto ever: Beat Us If You Can, Survive If We Let You.

Curious on who gets the reference and yes I will happily tell the Boltons that

That's the car I wanted but we ended up going with Tesla because it was the far cheaper option at the time. Regrets, I have a few.

Unrelatedly, a fire started inside former Green Bay Packers player Randall Cobb's house Tuesday night after his Tesla charger spontaneously ignited while they were sleeping, and the couple of pictures they posted makes it look like a bomb went off in their garage. From what I gather, firefighters were able to put the fire out before it burned down his whole house. Everyone got out of the house without injury, including the dog: may you be so lucky, ShadySands.

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Something like that would be quite the hazard where I am. I live on the end of the transmission line, and there are few houses around me. A lightning strike into a power line would likely set the charger if not the vehicle on fire.

Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. We are ... well, Ford loyalists. Also Tesla in my Canadian context is  ... well concerning ;). Perhaps we can road tour sometime or even swap and try ;)

Ford Mustang was my very first car so I really wanted it to complete the loop. It's in the lead for our next car as I don't think we need two cars at the moment because we both work from home.

Unfortunately I need a pickup for my job and there isn't a good electric option for that is affordable for me or available in my area, so I'm stuck in a 2018 Colorado. It sucks paying for gas and an electric would be better for many options, but I don't want to cause a fire with a Cybertruck. To boot the Cybertruck is definitely the most hideous vehicle I have ever seen and breaks down doing normal truck stuff.

I was at London Pride 2024 on Saturday with my university. It was curious to see several groups of the safely contained homophobes, but they do remind why the Pride is needed. I have also realised that I strongly dislike whistles and large groups of people in general. Still, going to get some sort of hearing protection and come to London Pride 2025. Hopefully, the transphobes in the government will be removed by that time.

Given what Starmer has said recently, I don't think yall will be that lucky even if every Tory got dragged straight to hell.

Mind, if every Tory got dragged to hell, Starmer would probably also get dragged along. That man is not Labour.

Made a baby cry just by looking at it. Still got it.

Also the local crazy man in my neighbourhood got reassigned, the new guy is just ranting about feminists. Sad.  The old guy used to just mutter gibberish and try to fight garbage bins.

Had a guy for a while in the neighbourhood who would calculate how many men and how many women needed to die for the second coming.

Babies usually don't cry until I start talking. I was both dissapointed and elated that my best friends latest kid didn't cry but actually approached me and didn't want to leave my side for a good bit.

Saw a guy arguing with a street sign going into work a month ago.  Was very Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

Near my old workplace's office we had some nice ones. A fake blind man, the laziest Christian preacher ever (listlessly saying 'Christ is the Light, and the Joy...') and then some guy with a website warning us about "the war on our balls". All on one corner.  Occasionally we'd get the weird Nation of Islam guys that show up.

Urban life can't be beat.

I am in Chicago, we have Hebrew Israelites so I can totally relate in a way. Urban life can be beat if you are suburban and have to deal with the urbanites commuting. I had to deal with a coworker once who was fired for "Jumping on cars"

...when it's warm enough outside that your house A/C setting of 80F/26.5C feels like opening the freezer door (for the first few minutes you walk inside, at least).
...midnight last night: 85F/29.5C -- 5am this morning: 70F/21C -- Yesterday/Today-currently: 113F/45C

Now, no mistake, we're in a normally warm area. So it's frequently 95F-102F/35C-39C in summer regardless. I'm kinda used to that by now. But ugh, could it just stay there and not ever go higher? No? Ah well. Definitely more a of nightowl in summer here than ever before. It's the only time it's "nice."
