Sean is channeling his dad a bit too hard and director's a big fan of Terry Gilliam's Monty Python animations, but it's not a bad combination.

Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

Never attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by incompetence.

I expected some bad cover version of an old b52’s song. Turns out it wasn’t 👍

Always loved this story-song. When I was really little, it even made me sad. Poor Big Bad John.  : /

But I never knew there was a "sequel song." I don't like it nearly as much, but hey, I don't have to mourn for Big John anymore.  😄

happy Christmas everyone, hope your next year is better than the last one

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

A friend got me into this vocaloid bullcrap last month. This particular one, Kasane Teto, is the first one I've heard where I seem to actually like the voice. Now she's been using it as an excuse to send me a bazillion different songs of extremely varying quality and styles...but I like this one.

Honestly, I used to have a really diminutive view of vocaloids, but ever since generative AI became a thing, they just seem so silly, tame, and harmless in comparison.

Against stupidity we have no defense. Neither protests nor force can touch it. Reasoning is of no use. Facts that contradict personal prejudices can simply be disbelieved - indeed, the fool can counter by criticizing them, and if they are undeniable, they can just be pushed aside as trivial exceptions. So the fool, as distinct from the scoundrel, is completely self-satisfied. In fact, they can easily become dangerous, as it does not take much to make them aggressive. For that reason, greater caution is called for than with a malicious one. Never again will we try to persuade the stupid person with reasons, for it is senseless and dangerous.

I've lost some (a lot of( interest in the current WH40K setting, but every now and then, I still do a knee jerk reaction and listen or watch something.

I don't know if it's the ultimate flex, but its a good candidate. Floor Jansen singing the Dutch version of The Yellow Pages

Tiffany? Who's Tiffany?

Also: I miss American Bandstand, silly dancing and lip syncing and all. I remember seeing this on the old tubeTV back then and I'm pretty sure I have it recorded on VHS tape in a closet somewhere.  Famous film composer Danny Elfman used to dance funny, hehe.   It's how we saw our fave bands outside of in-person live concerts, back then. Now YT over-saturates us all.  But at least it also lets us nostalgia.
