I got my Bengals/Rams Big Game. :)

Me too. Go Rams*!

*I have been cheering against the Bengals this entire postseason because every time I've ever cheered for them in the postseason, they lose. So...can't stop now, 3-3 so far!

Tom Brady's retirement is official. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/33192441/tampa-bay-buccaneers-tom-brady-officially-announces-retirement

A bit of speculation, but I think he realized that the Bucs were going to have to go through a rebuild 'cause of their cap situation and decided he didn't want to spend the next two years on an okay but not great team all to maybe have a shot in three years before retiring (he left New England for the same reason--he's too old to wait on a rebuild). It will be interesting to see if Bruce Arians also retires 'cause I always got the impression that if Brady left Arians was gonna follow him out the door. We could be entering next season where for the first time in almost thirty years the top ten best quarterbacks will all be under 30.

The local stations seemed to be going crazy over the Brady retirement rumors over the weekend. It was like a major sports superstar had never retired before.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

I liked Washington Football Team better.

It's completely awful - went from racism to some pathetic and utterly generic attempt at being pro-military, great. One good thing about is that three syllable teams pretty much always have a shortened version, and it seems the internet has already dubbed them "the Commies", which feels appropriate what with the red and all.

Is Dan Snyder the most loathsome NFL owner? 🤔

current or historical? current am thinking kraft and jones deserve consideration along with snyder.  kraft has been so successful people just kinda ignore a few o' his weirder shenanigans. am also believing anytime jones mentions the importance o' character when hiring coaches, drafting players or acquiring free agents, at least a few angels explode in a burst o' unholy flame.

I obviously have a biased opinion of Jerry Jones since he owns my favorite team. I view him like that weird uncle who's kinda suspect but then he'll take you to the strip club, pay for a lap dance for you, and help you score some drugs, so I can't really hate him.

My prediction is Cincinnati will win as Stafford will throw multiple interceptions. The Rams will probably get 2-4 sacks on Burrow, but it won't be enough to overcome Stafford's play. The worst part is, Zac Taylor, who I don't think is a very good head coach, will get a longer leash for it. Also, too many of my fellow Jets fans think that we can copy what the Bengals have done (with different players) and somehow get the same results.

I'm continuing to cheer against the Bengals so that they can continue to win, so I really "hope" you're wrong about the Bengals winning. As for what the Bengals did...yeah, most teams should do what the Bengals did, but a lot easier said than done, right? Consistently hitting on a decent amount of your draft picks year after year is basically impossible for an extended period of time - doing it for just a few years in a row usually gets you a pretty good run of success (particularly if you get a QB out of it), doing it for a handful usually gets you a Super Bowl at least. A number of teams have trouble doing it even once or twice in a given ten year period, though.

The Superbowl now is like watching an old 20th Century variety show. The actual match is almost besides the point, given all the shows, asides, and expensive advertisements they throw in between the plays. They managed to turn about 20 minutes of actual action into an eight hour show.

I guess it's good the Rams won because had the Bengals won it would have been highway robbery. That 75 yard TD was the most blatantly obvious offensive pass interference possibly in the history of the NFL. It was so egregious that it should have counted as 3 penalties (not to mention been called).

Anyway, Joe Burrow is terrific but they desperately need to get him an O-Line. The Bengals pass protection was effectively nonexistent.
