Any kind of win > any kind of loss (...outside of pyrrhic victories, I guess), but that 21-0 start made me think we were gonna blow the Vikings out. I thought the exact same thing. But then they started stumbling again. But it's okay. A new O takes time to get going and gel. I actuelly assumed we would be 0-2 by this week, so this is just a pleasant surprise. Go Pack Go! He looked spectacular in the first 2 games this season, but I have to remind myself that we played against a couple division 2 college teams. The Saints game in week 4 will be the first real test. In other news, is it too early to start talking 0-16 for the Fins? Usually teams don't make it THIS obvious that they're tanking. Saints without Brees is not a "real test". Fins trading away Minkah is just stupid. Even if they are tanking and want to start over with Tua next season, they still need some semblance of a core to get anywhere. Minkah should have been part of that core. I'll do it, for a turnip. DnD item quality description mod (for PoE2) by peardox

Mannock Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 Going into this week I was super optimistic about beating a 0-2 Broncos with Flacco at the helm. Cause at the beginning of the season I was certain we would be 0-2 ourselves at this point and here we are, top of the north and 2-0. But then by midweek I got thinking that the poison called "over confident" might strike against the Broncos, who themselves probably want vengeance after being robbed last week. Von Miller haven't had a sack yet and he probably wanna show up big on Sunday. Still Tugboat Flacco at the helm though. I'm currently cautiously optimistic. I'll do it, for a turnip. The last two games have been pretty darned close (1-score games where we needed end-zone interceptions to essentially seal them - we could very easily be 0-2 now), so I expect this to be a relatively even game as well until our offense starts really proving otherwise. The beginning of seasons can be weird - some teams will often rattle off a few wins before falling off a cliff, while teams that started slow often self-correct and start to pick up steam. We'll have a better idea of who the actually good teams are in two weeks (not including the Patriots, of course). Keyrock Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 That 2nd quarter was the most piss poor quarter of football muh Boys have played all year. By all rights, we should be down by something like 14 points at the half, yet we lead by 4 because the Fins are terrible and won't stop shooting themselves in the foot. Our D was banged up going into the week and got more banged up as the game went on, but that's no excuse for our awful level of play. Bartimaeus Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Similarly, Packers continue to win ugly games. Still winning, but still not sure if this team is actually for real. 1 Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. Keyrock Posted September 22, 2019 Posted September 22, 2019 Muh Boys cleaned things up, blew the game open in the 3rd quarter, and coasted to another easy W. Outside of that 2nd quarter, where we looked flat out terrible in every phase of the game, we've played well on both sides of the ball, but, again, we still haven't played anyone. The Fins got frisky for a quarter, but it's easy to see why they're a 0-3 team. Even when things were going well for them and we handed them some 1st downs via stupid penalties, they proceeded to take out a gun and empty the entire clip into their foot. Anyway, we're 3-0, I ain't gonna complain about that. As an extra bonus, the Lions did us a favor today and knocked off the Eagles. With that we have a 2 game lead in our division. Can't ask for anything more than that in week 3. Next week we play the Saints sans Breesus in Nawlins. Meanwhile, I'll be a Packers fan this Thursday. Do us a solid, cheeseheads, and beat the Eagles. Mannock Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 Stumbled ourselves to another win, yet again thanks to our D. I can't help feeling there's been a lot of luck to these three Packer wins. The Eagles might be where it all turns sour, we'll see. But for now, I'm super happy we're 3-0. Never saw that coming going into the season. I'll do it, for a turnip. Keyrock Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 (edited) I wonder if Volo is celebrating the Danny Dimes Era or upset that the G-Men won without Eli? Either way, sucks about Saquon Barkley, that dude is spectacular and I hated seeing him get hurt. To switch gears, there was some atrocious play calling yesterday. The Bucs having the ball in chip shot game winning field goal range then PURPOSELY taking a delay of game penalty to move the ball back 5 yards when their next play was a kneel down to move the ball back another 2 yards and to center the ball on the field. But that doesn't even compare to the Browns running a draw on 4th & 9 when the game was still well within reach. I can't even wrap my head around that play call. That may be the single worst play call in the history of the NFL. Edited September 23, 2019 by Keyrock 1 RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks

Bartimaeus Posted September 24, 2019 Posted September 24, 2019 For whatever reason, Rodgers always plays like a god @Dallas (and hasn't ever lost there, including in his SB win).
