Wouldn't a VR mod for The Outer Worlds be awesome? The masterful modders from the "Flatscreen to VR Modding Community" discord server have already created VR mods for multiple flatscreen games. With Deep Rock Galactic the (afaik) first VR mod for a Unreal Engine game is now in development. The same could happen to TOW. Unfortunately TOW currently doesn't contain certain libraries that are required for VR. The libraries can be added back in with Unreal Engine plugins, that come with the engine. Enabling those shouldn't take too long. I'm trying to somehow get into contact with someone who can add those libraries back in and to try to covince them. Has anyone ever done this? What's the best way to reach out? Any help is appreciated Edit: If y'all want a TOW VR mod and would like to help, but don't know how, just leave a comment. Maybe that will help with getting attention

So, I'm on my second play-through. I happened to have Felix in the party when I went into Left Field Tossball Betting in Stellar Bay...and he started flirting with Nell. Next thing I know, over in the factory bay, Velma's referring to Felix as "the infamous Felix". In the first play-through, Felix's end story was kind of sad. I'm wondering, now, if that will change, so I'm looking forward to eventually reaching the end again. But I'm also wondering if it's possible to find partners for the other companions, either with generic named NPCs or in other quests. Has anyone come across something like this for Nyoka or Ellie? I'm going to have to spend more time introducing companions to various NPCs and see what happens, now. But I'm not complaining!

Hello. I recently played The outer worlds on my Series S and loved the game. When I read the game was running at 60fps on Series X and PS5 I was very excited because playing at that frame rate is amazing. But sadly I can not play the game at 60fps on my console. I would like to know is there is a possibility to play it at 60fps in the future or at least an explanation of why not. Thank you.

I own the Outer Worlds for PS4, a physical copy. I updated the game before purchasing the DLC bundle including Peril on Gorgon. I have multiple saves that are post-Radio Free Monarch and pre-Point of No Return, yet traveling in the Unreliable doesn't trigger the DLC. It's installed, I even got a little banner flash at the bottom of the screen when I loaded up the game that said "peril on gorgon available!" But again, none of my multiple post-RFM, pre-PONR saves seem to be working -- I've tried flying from Terra 2 to Groundbreaker, from Monarch to Scylla, nothing. It really sucks that I actually followed directions and kept the correct saves and I STILL have to replay the entire game if I want to play the DLC. Not cool, Obsidian. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I have searched every place available on line for information about an advertised Season Pass in the US. I cannot fine anyone advertising this as available except in the UK. Why is it not available for the US? Why mention it if we cannot buy it? I am more than a little annoyed. : (

Hello, When playing with SAM and being 'Robophobic' (on PS4 Pro), the game is freezing for around 1 full second as the status effect is applied when SAM is near and again when the effect is removed when SAM falls behind, as the player traverses the game. This becomes intolerable to the point of avoiding using SAM (or avoiding the 'Robophobia' phobia on subsequent playthroughs, if the player actually wants to use SAM). As the player moves around, SAM inevitably falls behind. As he gets too far away for the player to receive the Robophobic status effect, the effect is removed. When this happens, there is a VERY noticeable pause in gameplay (sometimes longer than a second). Then as you keep moving, eventually the game catches SAM back up to you. When this happens, the status effect is then applied again, and you get the same freeze. After a while, this becomes very jarring. I have posted a video of it happening on YouTube and you can see the phobia icon appear and disappear when it happens My YouTube video That was posted in October last year and I know I'm not the only person to experience this issue. Is there a reason this has not been fixed yet? Are there any plans to get it fixed? Many thanks Pinstrypsoldier

Hey guys, new to the forum but in need of desperate help. I'm playing the outerworlds on xbox one and I have made it to the labyrinth. I get to the door with the restricted sign on it and it says to the pit. I go through and kill some guards, yadda yadda yadda. Anyways as soon as the game auto saves or if I try and manually save the game will crash and take me back to the home screen . I've saved in other areas but it only does this in the pit. Any help or advise would be helpful , thanks .

I constantly have either Youtube or Spotify playing, yet the game never drops a single frame outside or in. I have a RTX 2080 and an i9, but MOST newer games have some hiccups or stutter of some sort (Skyrim Special Edition, Fallout 4 when they came out). I have encountered neither bug nor stutter with all graphical settings maxed. So my question is, has everyone else been playing this godly game without bugs or performance problems?
-
Yo, I FIGURED OUT how to get around this particular bug !!!! Wooooo. Simply never use your companions, ever. Well at least until you finalize their quests. While on terra2, right after you get Parvati, make sure to force her to stay out of battle. Only do the quest of fixing the power. Also, go kill everything in the way npc wise before you get her. Then once done, put her on the ship and fly away. Go back to terra2 and leave her on the ship. When you get to groundbreaker, take her out and run straight to the back to meet Junlei. Then put her back on the ship. NEVER BATTLE WITH HER. PROBLEM SOLVED BABY !! #Sidenote I've never had the ladder bug because I watch for them all to be stationary.

Upon "completing" the quest, the quest persists in my journal and the tracker does also. The tracker is focused on Vaugn Cortes and everytime I speak with him, he responds with "Any news? On the thing we spoke about. You know. That thing?". I then click "[1] I found your experiment", but then the conversation immediately exits and nothing happens.

So I'm doing his main quest to retrieve his data from the outlaws. I betrayed Cassandra after agreeing to help her but shot her in the back. Also got Porter to leave peacefully. I'm trying to either turn in the data to Anton or keep it, however as I'm roleplaying as a total d-bag, I want to convince Anton to kill himself. However I don't get the persuade options that other players seem to get, despite my persuade skill being 50+. And I keep reloading to different points trying to remedy this, and I either gain certain dialogue options but lose others? Like I can't seem to tell him about the " Black marks and paperwork " in response to Jameson's death in one save, but in another I can. Like wth is happening? My stats are high enough and I've been a jerk to him the entire time, what's going on?

Hi, So im playing on Xbox, and i have just landed on the Groundbreaker Docks. As soon as i leave my ship i get audio cuts and whenever i try to talk to NPCs the camera stays on their face and it takes around 2 minutes to talk. I cannot exit or respond in any way, and the game crashes after around 5 minutes. I have uninstalled as well as loaded previous saves, but nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Can I put subtitles for the NPCs dialogues when they are not talking to me directly? English is not my first language, so when two NPCs are talking to each other, I'd like to read ehat are they saying, or if anyone talks to me from the distance, for example when someone says: "hey you, come here" referring to me. The only dialogues I can read with subtitles are those where I can choose different dialogue options, when they talk to me directly, but the other conversations are not subtitle. I'll give another example from another game: in Skyrim, when you walk near somebody mot hostile, they usually says something, they not talk to you "directly", but they say something and I can read it. I'd love to have the possibility to read the NPCs dialogues in The Outer Worlds the same way. Thanks in advance for your time, keep up the good work!

I’m playing the game on Xbox One and have been playing with no issues for the last few days. Just now I had noticed the autosave wheel spinning but never stopping. I went into my menu, I tried activating a terminal, went into an undiscovered area, heck I even killed some outlaws but still the save wheel kept spinning. I then tried going to the menu, maybe to try manually saving but that was grayed out. Trying to bring up my old saves in the “load” screen failed to populate any of my old saves. So finally I tried fast traveling to pop me into a loading screen hoping maybe that would fix things. And it did! Or so I thought. The autosave wheel was gone, so I decided to exit the game and restart just in case. Upon restarting, the music is playing, and the title screen appears, but if if I “press A to continue” the screen stops moving and I’m stuck here while it is (I’m guessing) trying to access my save files and can’t. I’m REALLY hoping this isn’t permanent because I’ve been absolutely enjoying the game and would hate to restart if I even can. I’ve trued restarting the console and the game twice now to no avail. Have any other players or devs experienced this issue? Thanks for taking the time to read my long post.

Help. This is the 4th time the game has crashed the the following messages below The 1st file downloads ok, game launches and I can play with no problems. I paused the dl for the 2nd file but somehow it was over ridden and the download continued. Game keeps crashing at the same point on the 2nd file download. If this isn't resolved soon I will be requesting a refund from Sony! as I'm spending more time just waiting for a 19Gb download than actually playing the game!

Okay, so I kind of stole everything out of Gladys' safe. And now every time I go to Groundbreaker, they shoot me on site. But, my reputation with them is Agreeable. So how do I fix this? I've tried leaving and coming back, I've done a few of their quests, but can't turn them in because everyone shoots me when I get off the Unreliable. How do I solve this?

Hey Guys and Girls! I've put together a post on everything we know about The Outer Worlds so far. We're hard at work putting together the Wiki for the game, and I've compiled as much information into one post here as we can, so that you can get a breakdown rather quickly. You can also check out this information on our blog here. The Game Awards surprised many with the announcement of The Outer Worlds: A single-player, first person RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and the creative team behind the original Fallout and Knights of the Old Republic II titles. With a distinct “This is the next-gen Fallout that never was” feel, the upcoming title brings with it great hope and expectations for fans of the Fallout franchise and of Obsidian Entertainment games. The Outer Worlds: Everything We KnowDeveloper: Obsidian Entertainment Publisher: Private Division Directors: Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, original creators of Fallout. Platforms: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC Release Date: TBA 2019 Engine: Unreal Engine 4 Monetization: Buy to Play. No microtransactions whatsoever DLC: In discussions, but currently focusing on the core game The Outer Worlds Story & Setting In a future where humanity has traveled far into space by using special cryogenic chambers, the game presents a semi-open-world exploration experience in a Sci-fi setting. Colonies far removed from earth have become the new frontier, and colonists travel to settle and find promise in these new lands. Mega-corporations have their own plans for these new developments, seeing market opportunities for their many ventures, and not always in the interest of humanity. The game presents opportunity for varied and interesting landscapes, cultures, races and story arcs that promise to branch out with player choices as is traditional for Obsidian’s RPG titles. In light of recent AAA titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2, it is important to note that while the game provides open-world exploration, it is not completely seamless or a completely open galaxy. So the game’s accessible world size will be more akin to Mass Effect than Fallout: New Vegas. In The Outer Worlds, you awake from hibernation on a colonist ship that was lost in transit to Halcyon, the furthest colony from Earth located at the edge of the galaxy, only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy it. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable. Players can expect to explore two Planets (that we know of), several space stations and asteroids within a distant Solar System. Areas open up as players complete quests and unlock them with in-game actions. These locales will have limited level scaling, so adventurers should be careful not to venture forth into certain locations until they are ready for the challenge. Space city of Byzantium, a commercialized frontier town of the solar system The Outer Worlds: GameplayThe game is a first-person RPG, and whilst there is a Character Creation option, players should not expect to see their character often. The player character is also silent, but NPC dialogue is fully acted in English. Players can expect to see UI and Subtitle support for 10 languages: French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian and Portuguese (Brazil) As a player-driven story game, player choices are an integral part of story development and will impact not only immediate quest and mission outcomes but affect the player’s Reputation with several Factions and the game’s several Endings. Players might want to make good use of the save feature as the game will have “point of no return” flags. Play as the hero, the villain or the village idiot: it’s your choice! There are six Stats and they have an acronym much like “S.P.E.C.I.A.L” in Fallout, and players obtain a new Perk for every 20 points spent into a Stat. Players can put up to 100 points into a stat, and these attribute points are used to determine your Lockpicking and Hacking. There’s no attached mini-game for either one of these now. The game will feature multiple difficulty Settings. Builds in The Outer WorldsCharacter Builds will be an integral part of the game, as players are encouraged to customize and optimize their layouts via a network of Stats, Skills, Perks and Abilities. A new concept called “Flaws” brings a spin on Fallout’s Traits or Mutations: Players can opt to obtain a flaw that makes them vulnerable or weak to certain enemies or ailments. Flaws are unlocked when players meet certain conditions such as having died to or encountered a specific enemy several times. Accepting a Flaw can grant Perk points, and may give a special boon in another aspect unrelated to the specific flaw. Rejecting a flaw does not cause any further statuses. Flaws are permanent and players can have a maximum of 5 flaws on the hardest game setting (3 on normal difficulty setting). Perks, on the other hand, can be re-specced at will. Equipment is of course a part of Builds, with damage being calculated by both your character’s Stats and Perks and your chosen weapon. The game features four weapon categories: Bullet Weapons: These weapons have light, medium and heavy ammo. Energy Weapons: These weapons have special effects and are charged rather than reloaded. Melee Weapons: Weapons with a short range but powerful effect and no need for any kind of ammo or charge. Science Weapons: Not much is known about them yet, but there’s a “Shrink Ray”. Weapon Mods: Much like the Fallout series, weapons will feature Mods. Modifications are special upgrades that give weapons unique characteristics, such as adding Fire or Shock damage. Players can therefore expect to spend some time gathering Materials and Crafting. Combat FeaturesFor combat, the game uses something similar to Fallout’s VATS – a feature called Tactical Time Dilation. This special ability slows time and displays Enemy information including their classification, armor level, hitpoints and their associated faction. Aiming during Tactical Time Dilation is 100% manual, and the restrictions on use can be eased by investing in Perks and Skills. First Person Combat shot in the Roseway Companions in The Outer WorldsCompanions are also a feature of the game, whereas players can recruit party members to crew their Starship – but can expect these companions to interject in their adventures with their own views, objectives and missions. There are apparently six companions, and we know of two companions already: Ellie and Felix. Romance is not an option for companions, as developers felt it could limit player choice Companions may be customized and players can pick Perks for them on level up screen Players can bring two companions at a time, and inventory is shared among all while out in the field. Companions have their own Perks and three Skills and special Abilities. Companions level up at the same rate as the player character. Companions have their own missions, quests and objectives and will ask for help to fulfill them. Companions have an approval rating and will leave the field if they are against your actions. They will not abandon your party unless you make that choice. All of the companions can be recruited, but some have allegiances to specific Factions and are thus less likely to join you in the field if you are doing something against their interests. A special AI called ADA assists with your tasks and facilitates ship management and communications relay Outer Worlds Starship & CrewPlayers will have their own Spaceship, that comes fitted with an AI called ADA. ADA is programmed to change and adapt based on the character’s actions, opening up further promise for role-play and consequences to your choices. The Ship will act as a main hub for your party, as your portable Camp. It is not yet known whether players can make improvements or changes to this base of operations.
