  1. Thanks. I knew I'd seen it in this thread before, but I'd paid it little attention before as I hadn't been able to play the game. I got VampEd and got it working, so now I just need to try it out. A couple more game thoughts -
  2. There is that. I'd like to change some of the ingame models for a subsequent play through, so I'm checking out doing that.
  3. I watched The Strange Door (1951), with Charles Laughton and Boris Karloff in an adaption of "The Sire de Mal
  4. I miss all the great people who used to hang out at ML. Now it seems like all they've scattered to the winds (some here!) or are playing World of Warcraft now...
  5. ^Yeah I guessed that after the fact. Hindsights always 20-20.
  6. Yeah, I know what you mean, there's a lot of that kind of business later on, plus it gets all hack and slash on your arse. Yeah it really devolved into a lot of hack and slash. Which wasn't so bad except that it seemed like villains were respawning all the time, which made figuring out the puzzles a bit harder as it was a pain to try and backtrack if you had to. Ultimately I liked the game - I plan on giving it another few run throughs with different characters later - but I think the end isn't as strong as the begining.
  7. Saw Curse of the Golden Flower yesterday. Really beautiful looking film. Not quite as actiony as I'd hoped, but it held up on the dramatic side, so it all worked out in the end.
  8. Eberron: Stormreach It's already out. I thought it was, but I decided to hedge my bets a bit to be on the safe side as I don't really pay a lot of attention to MMORPGs.
  9. ^I think there's a niche alright; but given that I believe there is already a D&D MMORPG (or one planned) I doubt that the makers of that would allow the competition of another D&D set MMORPG.
  10. Some random thoughts: Also encountered some odd bugs, including a man stuck in a doorway and my character falling through the floor into blackness (I think a Tong member spawned where I was standing).
  11. As far as video game stuff, we had the home Pong system. Nothing but Pong. Then an Atari 2600 with various games (Entombed was a good favorite, but we had a lot. Including the first Swordquest. Never could beat it. But Adventure was the biggy. Loved beating that one). Then the C64 with Spy vs Spy and Phantasie and Bruce Lee and Archon and M.U.L.E. Then the NES with Low G Man and 8 Eyes. And then I was no longer a kid. Bought myself a Genesis when I was in college. I feel old now...
  12. Sometimes the dialogue is obvious, and sometimes I was worried I was insulting someone (in fact I DID insult someone without intending it...OOPS!) For that reason I decided to go ahead and run the Brujah through and get and idea of the game, and maybe pick my Malkavian back up later. Oh and it freaked me out
  13. While I agree it probably wasn't necessary for someone who paid attention, given the number of times I've talked to people who watch movies and seem to miss fairly large parts of the plot for some reason I can understand why he did it. Plus
  14. Sadly, my Stretch Armstrong succumbed to childhood curiosity and a steak knife. I could never do that to one of my toys!
  15. Well it adds the town of Dunwich which has its own potential Old Ones, plus it has a meter for the Dunwitch Horror appearances. You can travel between towns via the rail lines and it has some new locations to travel and investigate. It also has some new investigators and adds madness and wound possibilities (IIRC). The other expansion, the museum one(?) adds more cards to the existing board, IIRC.
  16. I still blame Mark David Chapman for that one...
  17. I've got Arkham Asylum and the Dunwich Horror expansion. It looks like a pretty cool game. I have the revised edition which is suppose to fix some issues the original release was supposed to have.
  18. Yeah, I'm such a Malkavian failure... Heh...I did try out a Tremere, I may get back to them in a third or fourth game...
  19. I haven't read THE SANDMAN series since it came out, but I certainly enjoyed it at the time. I liked how the various stories all eventually weaved together in a rather fatalistic tapestry.
  20. Sadly those moral alignment "discussion" invariably happened at (a) low levels) and (b) in any situation where I'd get the short end of the stick regardless when I played PnP back in the day...
  21. Wow I never heard of those. thanks for the links In a pointless bit of trivia, The Micronauts line was based on Japan's Microman line which in turn ended up being a predecessor to the changing toy line that became The Transformers in the US. Mego was a huge company in the 70s, but not getting the Star Wars toys killed them in the late 70s.
  22. HGahah! yeah that does seem to be the right attitude to take with the character. That's why its frustrating when I find myself re-reading the choices trying to figure out what I'm talking about!
  23. Yeah the Malkavian dialogue is pretty fun, although I find myself trying to decipher the dialogue as sometimes I can't even make sense of it (sometimes I just pick whichever dialogue choice seems the funnest!)
  24. Sorta; I managed to scrape enough funds for a half-decent laptop for some stuff I needed to do and it turns out it can, quite coincidently, play a few games that I couldn't play before... It is awesome. Try playing as a Malkavian. Right now I have a Malkavian and a Brujah. I love the Malkavian responses. I hate my Brujah's hat (but the character is fun).
  25. Ah I had a Stretch Armstrong. He liquified in his styrofoam container. I had Maskatron from the Six Million Dollar Man line; my brother had Steve Austin. I also had a number of Megos But without a doubt my favorite toys were The Micronauts
