  1. That 1st definition confuses me. How can "being a juggalo [be] about individuality" when a juggalo can be defined in such group identifying ways as - "eating ramen noodles... drinking faygo cola... and sporting pro wing shoes... made fun of in school..." And if a juggalo is "never accepted by anyone", does that mean juggalos don't accept one another?
  2. I've seen a number of objects flying through the sky that I couldn't identify, so in that sense yes I've seen some UFOs. But I've never seen anything that I've been convinced was ship of extraterrestrial design. That said, I don't think such a ship is impossible, but have no experience with such.
  3. But then the first person could claim that the original post quoted in the reply is in fact a fabrication made by the poster to "put words in their mouth". And then someone would point out the edit notice on the edit and then the person would come up with another story, etc. I don't mind the edit limits other than when I type some grammatically horrible sentence or have a severe number of typos and don't catch it before posting.
  4. To be honest? I thought it was because The Force Unleashed was going to be an action game, which tends to be a bigger market than most RPGs. Yeah, sales could be a factor, but sales doesn't have to be the reason for not making a sequel. They were also over the same time period they were developing CALL OF CTHULU, developing a Deadlands RPG/Shooter hybrid game. Headfirst seemed to have sunk a lot of money into both games before they had a publisher. Yup, but there are a lot of games that sell well that never see a sequel (or another sequel) and sales isn't the factor. Found this: 2003 Gamespy Interview with Brian Fargo GameSpy: Do you potentially have access to any other IP from Interplay's past, or be interested in working on it? Brian Fargo: Well normally I wouldn't comment on it, but because of the public records of it ... We've also secured the Wasteland trademark. And there's no issues with that. That was actually kind of a funny story. Konami got the Wasteland mark and I went to Konami and asked what they were doing with it. They were using it as one of their umpteen-million Yu-Gi-Oh! characters, like Wasteland Rick or something crazy like that. And I said "Can I use it?" and they said "Oh no, we want to use it as one of our many characters." And finally they decided that they're really not going to exploit it anymore so they let the mark lapse and I stepped in and filed it and now it's been granted to me. Very interesting. But that's about the Wasteland trademark, allowing them to title stuff "Wasteland" without being sued by Konami (or other rights holders). Doesn't seem to be about the IP rights to the Wasteland game...
  5. Some random thoughts (or misconceptions) I had: I thought InXile only licensed Wasteland (and Bard's Tale) from EA? Headfirst spent so long developing CALL OF CTHULU I was surprised it actually came out. Given the rumoured problems in its long development (well before Bethesda became the publisher), I'm not surprised it came out with problems. And I thought KotOR 3 was ultimately nixed because of the refocusing of the entire LA video game lines (and the decision to ultimately back The Force Unleashed).
  6. States typically determine how/where/when voters vote, IIRC.
  7. I'm hoping to start this over the weekend. Also playing Fable 2. Finished Fable 2. Started Far Cry 2. And driving the car around made me motion sick.
  8. I'm hoping to start this over the weekend. Also playing Fable 2.
  9. Survivors of a plane crash find themselves on a mysterious island that is the object of a fight between shadowy groups who want to control the secrets on the island.
  10. But the helicopter pilot (who was supposed to be the 815 pilot) claims the body in the ocean isn't the person he was friends with who was the pilot for the doomed flight, doesn't he?
  11. That's me out, then. Keep reading. BioWare rescinded that requirement on Friday. I may still be out. The computer I play on isn't set up to the internet. The one that is connected (that I'm using now) is an old model that still runs Win98. Authorization codes bundled with the game have worked fine in the past, and I've never had a problem. Online authorization may be a problem for me, in my unique situation, if the program has to auth via the internet (as opposed to a person being able to manually auth it). I was a console player for many years; I may just return to that (until consoles go all internet crazy and require every game to connect online for something or my internet connectivity changes).
  12. That's me out, then.
  13. BG and BG2. I really wanted to finish BG but in the end could be bothered, so I just exported and started a new BG2 game.
  14. Saw Iron Man last week. Really strong film with great performances from most of the cast and a solid plot. And good humour! Been awhile since a superhero film hasn't taken itself overseriously. Saw Speed Racer today. Fun film, goofy and frothy fun. Had a grin on my face for most of the film.
  15. Well, so do I. But it seems a completely arbitrary assignment. Maybe but its totally cool.
  16. I like scottish accented dwarves...
  17. I'd like a well made Icewind Dale third sequel type game
  18. I dunno, I enjoyed Jade Empire myself. Replayed it a number of times as well, so if someone has it in their top ten I certainly couldn't complain...
  19. You know one game that I probably should have mentioned (and is still installed on my computer) is Freedom Force/Freedom Force vs The Third Reich. I still occassionally make skins for it without any real plans of playing using the skin.
  20. There are still plenty of other hobby magazines on the newsstand though. Ham Radio, model rocketry, sewing, body building, all sorts of esoteric hobbies still have magazines. If computer gaming was stil an esoteric hobby, it woudl probably still have magazines. It had a lot more magazines when there was a lot less money in the business. Newspapers are a different kettle of fish from hobby magazines. Bad example. However, you have to admit, as news-information is increasinly moving to an online distribution model and thuse being easily available to the average computer user, it makes sense that a magazine devoted to something that uses the computer as its base of operations would be hit harder than say, Ham Radio that wouldn't be as intrenched online, necessarily. I think - I won't swear to it - that I still have two issues of CGW around the house here in a box that were my brothers...
  21. My personal preference is for dark hair.
  22. Played in the last 5 years Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Planescape: Torment Final Fantasy VI/III Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Katamari Damacy Borrowed and played again in the last year Phantasie M.U.L.E. Would play now if I had the systems up to play them on Dragon Force Arcus Odyssey Shining Force II
  23. A reminder that EA once released a lot of different game genres... *reminiscenses (sp?) the days of "Seven Cities of Gold", "Hard hat Mack", "Archon" & "Racing Destruction Set"* I think I could use a remake of "Racing Destruction Set" I remember Racing Destruction Set. Wow, I'd remembered the game for years but couldn't think of the name of it (a bit like that game where you bought a giant monster and set it loose) Seven Cities of Gold I remember playing, but never finishing. ARCHON was the game though! I remember many epic battles on that game. Never played Hard Hat Mack though...platformer? Phantasie was a great game. hell yeah though that fight with the Kraken was a huge jump in the difficulty level Yeah it was. Man I loved Shining Force II so much that I actually got all my characters up to level 99 once... It was actually the first (and only game) I assisted on an online FAQ for (Mostly spell progressions for some of the wizards and I found a weird "issue"? where I got Talos' sword on a random drop; unusable by any party member and I held onto it thinking there was going to be some character who'd use it).
  24. hmmm, no way I could ever get a true list like that; changes too much. So ten I really liked (and played a whole lot): Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together Planescape: Torment Dragon Force Phantasie M.U.L.E. Arcus Odyssey Final Fantasy VI/III Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne Katamari Damacy Shining Force II
  25. Yeah I never finished Rune either...
