  1. Level 15 is the minimum level, I believe, before a prestige class. Stop there if you really want. Trust me though, it won't make a blind bit of difference, because the game will be unbelievebly easy no matter how you level up, except possibly something like guardian/Lord or consular/Weaponmaster.
  2. Anyone who does not capitalise the pronoun "I" has absolutely no right to complain about spelling and grammar errors.
  3. But it is something of a reflection of Obsidians official position that a personal comment in a non-KotOR 2 forum on a site other than Obsidians from an engineer working on a different project is the only thing we have had from Obsidian since the game was released. That a comment in those circumstances is all we have indicates, at least to me, that everyone else at Obsidian is just plain ignoring us. That is more unacceptable than the comment itself. Why has there been no official comment on a KotOR 2 forum on Obsidian's site from someone working on the project? After spending thirty pounds or fifty dollars on a game that for many of us doesn't even work, don't we deserve at least that much?
  4. Darn it. I read that as "she has a black eye patch". Dark Side Handmaiden could have gone around saying "Arrr", and "Shiver me timbers" all the time. Her combat line could have been something like "Blow the man down!" or "You fight like a cow!" Grr...now I'm annoyed by this game's lack of pirates...
  5. Agreed. Revan is a woman, no two ways about it for me.
  6. It doesn't matter. I can't speak for the damage dealing powers, but as a Sentinel/Watchman, by the end of the game 90% of enemies would fail their save for stasis field. And once that happens, you get your Watchman (since Watchman is effectively the Sentinel prestige class) sneak attack bonus, and it's lights out. I imagine that something like Force Storm or Force Crush will be similarly unsaveable. As to your attributes, you'd be surprised how unimportant it is. This game is astoundingly easy, so you won't have problems either way. However, the levelling system is not fixed, so the number of attributes you get can depend on what level you are by the end. Plan for at least five increases, and more likely six.
  7. He has a Scottish accent in the English version. Not a flowery one, like say Scotty in Star Trek has, but a low, croaking one that actually sounds pretty evil. Of course, being Scottish myself, I may be a tad biased...
  8. Of course she did. She just didn't use it. How does she communicate with people, otherwise?
  9. Does he still have a Scottish accent when he speaks French?
  10. Well that is a crap argument because Revan never spoke! So he could have monalogued also, there is no way to know, until he is given a voice by LA. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, that is a crap sarcasm detector you've got there, but I suppose one could argue that a classical villain would have monologed in the scene where the Jedi Strike team board Revan's vessel. But instead, she just raises her light saber and assumes a combat stance. Where would the fun be if the bad guy was like that? There wasn't even a "Mwhahahaha!", and you also need to have an evil laugh to be a good villain.
  11. I am not disagreeing about this. But more about your later arguments that Revan was not much like Anakin. Both started out good and fell through good intetions going wrong (among other things) and returned to the light (only if you play ls in k1, ofcourse). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The thing is, though, where we do disagree is that I believe that Revan held true to his good intentions while still a Sith, while Vader became corrupted by the Dark Side. Your mileage may vary. In a way, though, this is sorta beside the point as to whether or not I like the OT, because I saw the OT first, and try my best to forget I ever saw the two prequels. So, my memories of the OT stand alone, and without the prequels to give you that background info, Vader comes across as far more evil. And he monologues. You can't be a villain unless you monologue.
  12. *shrug* I can't answer that. I personally never encountered the bug. I think some people had solutions in the tech forum, so you might want to check there. One of the threads was titled along the lines of "characters going darkside when I am lightside".
  13. Sorry, I forgot my sarcastic comment at that point about how that was cut too. It isn't explicitly stated that I can see in the cut ending, but it does speak about how Remote reactivating the Mass Shadow Generator will make Bao-Dur's 'sacrifice' worth it. Combine that with comments like "If you are watching this then..." and that in the scene where the whole party confronts Kreia he is not there, you can infer that Bao-Dur is dead by that point in the game. How exactly, I don't know. But I'm confident we'll find out at some point. It's probably buried somewhere in the dialogue trees, so just keep a watch on the "cut ending stuff" thread.
  14. The problem is with ATI cards and Intels. There are some workarounds for ATIs, though I have to warn you, you are probably going to hit a brick wall when you get to Dantooine, even if you've managed to get it to work. And when I say brick wall, I mean a reduction to one FPS and a complete inability to do anything at all. With Intels, it just plain don't work at all. They don't seem to be supported by the Engine.
  15. If you have a lightsaber, you can just lightsaber it open..
  16. It's a bug. Many people in the tech support forums are experiencing it.
  17. IMHO there is are 2 ways to improve your post. 1. Take more english lessons. 2. Think about what you want to say b4 you start typing. Sorry, no offense, I just could not help myself. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Okay, well, improvement is not a proper noun, so its capitalisation is wrong (and I confess I make this mistake fairly often), but the irony in this post is staggering. "There is are"? "english lessons"? Unlike improvement, English is a proper noun. "b4"? Will I find that in a dictionary? But don't mind what I say, I'm a Semantics Nazi, not a grammar one.
  18. As far as I know, the flip comes from using Power Attack. but I never use power attack, so I could be wrong. I've never noticed anything visually different about the forms. And that screenshot looks like Onderon to me. EDIT: Bugger. Beaten by a minute.
  19. I'll try my best. Bad start. I dunno. I never saw this... Actually, he didn't destroy him, just reprogrammed him. You betcha. See the "Cut Ending Stuff" thread. He's dead. The projection is just a way of getting the info to the player. Well, G0-T0 holds Remote hostage, but then HK-47 comes in to rescue Remote, but G0-T0 has some new HK-51s with him that he uses on HK-47. But because of your actions in the Droid Factory, the HK-51s won't attack HK-47, and instead follow his orders and attack G0-T0 instead. ...What? You didn't get that cutscene? Well, the girl with which you have the most influence stays behind at the Trayus academy in order to train new force users for the upcoming was with the True Sith, while you fly away in the Ebon Hawk to find Revan. You didn't get that either? As to the Ravager, I played a female, so I don't know, since the female triangle is Atton/Disciple/Exile. You really didn't get that? Oh, that's because it and the other parts were cut in order to rush the game out for christmas. You'd have loved the actual end sequence then. Shame it wasn't in the game.
  20. Signing a contract with LucasArts is roughly comparable to getting married to a womaniser with wedding vows that explicitly allowed cheating. When one partner goes off with someone else, the other partner shouldn't go complaining, because she knew exactly what she was getting into. Same situation here. It isn't like it is a big secret that LucasArts does this. Obsidian went into the development of this game with their eyes open. They were the ones who signed a contract that said LucasArts could change the release date. The rushed release of this game is at least partially their fault too.
  21. I thought it was Dutch? I remember seeing a TV show where they mentioned that Vader was Father in Dutch...
  22. What's your evidence for this? I don't remember them ever saying something to that effect. And the fact that Carth does not bring up the fact that Revan was in command and therefore responsible for Malak and Saul's actions when it is pointed out to him that Malak, not Revan gave the order, is to me fairly strong evidence that the Destruction of Telos happened after Revan's capture. Why do people keep insisting that Revan was only trying to save the Republic? Revan was cold, heartless, and a Sith to his core. He cared nothing about the Republic government, He wanted power because he knew he could take it. He had no problem razing planets and killing innocents, as long as his goals were forwarded. The halogram on Kasyyk in KotOR 1 helps explain Revan's persona, thoughts, ideas, and ideals. I do not understand how many people after KotOR 2 draw to the conclusion that Revan fell to the Darkside and attacked the Republic simply and only in order to save it from the "True Sith". That is not really what KotOR 2 describes. That was simply one reason. Revan believed only HE was strong enough to lead against the "True Sith", this arrogance bred a lust for power, and that lead him to the Darkside. Once fallen he would do anything to achieve his goals, why do you think he would be upset if Malak razed a planet? He razed many when he lead the invasion of the Republic. Revan and Vader were both fascists, believing that what they were doing was good for the whole. No person believes themselves to be evil, it is all point of view. As for Malak, I believe he just didnt care about Revan's plans. Malak wanted power, and he didnt care how he got it, or what he had to do to get it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With regards to the hologram on Kashyyk, there is something to that argument, but there are some possibilities. Revan programmed that hologram in the presence of Malak. If Revan was only putting on the appearance of being evil, she could quite easily program the hologram to give the impression that she was evil in order to fool Malak into thinking that she really was. One could also chalk it up to the fact that every bad guy in KotOR 1 was a thug bent on hurting as many people as possible, and such things might have been retconned had KotOR 2's tale of moral ambiguity after ambiguity been planned from the start. As to how one would draw such a conclusion, there are many points in the dialogue (at least if you chose Revan to be a light sider) where it is suggested such when people are discussing Revan in game. And as to Revan believing that only she was strong enough to lead the Republic against the True Sith, the fact is that she was probably right. Given all Canderous' descriptions of the situation in the Mandalorian wars, it seems clear to me that since only Revan could beat the Mandalorians, only Revan would be able to beat the True Sith. And there are two other factors at work: The Outer Rim. I remember something in Canderous' description of the wars about the Republic doing nothing while the Mandalorians attacked worlds on the Outer Rim that were not part of the Republic, and that gave them a strong position from which to launch an attack against the Republic. If such a thing were to happen with the True Sith, nothing would be able to stop them. And it does not seem all too unlikely. The True Sith could easily go after the Lesser Sith Empire first, and is the Republic going to rush to the defence of its hated enemy? Also, the Star Forge. The Star Forge is a factory fueled by the Dark Side of the force. The Star Forge could be instrumental in winning the war against the True Sith. Now, Revan could turn the location of the Star Forge over to the Republic, and the Republic is probably smart enough that they would use it. The problem would be the Jedi Council. A factory whose very walls reverberate with the Dark Side? Even if it was against the wishes of the Republic, it does not seem so implausible that the Jedi would take action to destroy such an evil creation. And if Revan wanted to stop the True Sith, she wouldn't allow that possibility. So, if Revan wants to save the Republic, or at least the people in it, what option is she left with? If she returns to the republic and tells all, the Order might destroy the Star Forge, and the Republic might not respond to the True Sith until it is too late. Even if she's at the head of the military, she might not be able to win. If she stands by and does nothing, well, that's just as bad. The only other option is to apply an external force to the Republic that will put her in a position to defeat the True Sith. And that was what she did. Are there ifs, buts, and maybes in this theory? Most certainly. But at the very least, the question of Revan's evil is open to interpretation, and isn't a situation where one could catagorically state that Revan was good or was evil. I see from review of the topic that my original comment wasn't quite as much a statement of opinion that in hindsight I'd like it to be. In my opinion, and according to my interpretation of the story, Revan was an anti-hero, not a villain.
  23. Previously, he wanted to help people. That all changed when he fell, and he only wanted to help himself. And yes, he started good, and died good, but is irrelevant. I said he was evil to the core aside from one spot of good. Luke latched onto that, and the fact that they were father and son helped Luke turn Vader back to the light. But in between, he was evil. Anti-heroes don't blow up planets. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Vader did not blow up a planet. Grand Moff Tarkin did. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Vader didn't have problem with it, did he? If Malak had did that while Revan was still Dark Lord, Revan would have killed him for something like that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Malak bombed Telos, while Revan was around. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope, that was just Malak, after Revan had been captured by Bastila. Remember the argument on the Ebon Hawk after you discover you are Revan? Carth blames Revan for the destruction of Telos, and Canderous interjects that Malak gave that order. Carth, being a military man, would understand that a commander is responsible for the actions of his underlings, and would respond with something to that effect. Instead, he dodges. Unless I missed something, there's no other indication of exactly when Revan is captured relative to other events.
  24. Yes, that alone. But when you add in something that in my opinion would have to be as emotionally damaging to a force sensitive as being raped, then I choose to call that the bullet train to the dark side.
  25. Previously, he wanted to help people. That all changed when he fell, and he only wanted to help himself. And yes, he started good, and died good, but is irrelevant.
