  1. As I understand it, the energy that creates the blade of a lightsaber passes through the crystals within the lightsaber in order to produce its properties. At the most basic level, this means it passes through the colour crystal and comes out of the end of the lightsaber. Now, unless there are a bunch of mirrors inside a lightsaber in some way I can't concieve of, you would have to have seperate crystals for each individual blade in a double-bladed saber. The same with lenses, and probably emitters too. You'd need two of everything, or the bades would have different properties. So why do double-sabrs only use one of everything?
  2. Iggy Pop - The Passenger Though before that, it was Bananaphone (fast version) - Raffi
  3. If you play the game so that you meet Darth Whatshisname on Manaan, if you're lucky you'll only have to fight him and one of his groupies. Whenever I meet him on Manaan, the other one stands still. Makes the fight that bit easier. Of course, I have no idea if I'm the only one who gets this bug...
  4. Is it? Every single time I've played TSL, When you first have the conversation with Atton he refers to her as a woman, and you get the option to tell him Revan was a man. I would have thought that that meant that the default choice for Revan was a woman.
  5. I just think youre a sexist whore <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know why you would think me a sexist whore. I can derive any way in which you might interpret my comments as being biased against women, and I certainly can't think of a reason why I might be sexist against men, on account that I am one. To me, Revan is a woman. When I sat down to play KotOR, Revan became my character, and I chose her gender. If someone then effectively goes and says "No, you're wrong, Revan was a man," I don't see why I should be expected to say "oh, okay, sorry for picking a woman, obviously Revan is a guy." If I had sat down to play KotOR and the game had decided for me at the beginning that Revan was male, I would have no problem with it. PS:T did that, though it let you set the stats, and was an awesome game. Chrono Trigger didn't let you choose anything at all about the main character, and that was my favourite RPG. But when I played KotOR, I was given the choice. I made that choice. And so if a book, TV show, movie or toy says that the choice I made wasn't correct, then in my eyes they are wrong. To a bunch of other people, they may be right, but I wouldn't buy the toy or the book or whatever. You can if you want, but I wouldn't. Simple as that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, I guess I would say if they do bring out a movie, and Revan is a guy, don't take it as a personal attack, they'd just be catering to the most popular choice. It would be hard to pick, though. Both have great potential. About being a "sexist whore"...your life must really suck if you hate men and you are one... Ignore the idiots. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's not like if they brought out a movie where Revan was a guy I'd go on a murderous manic rampage, protest outside the cinema, and take LucasArts to court over it. I just wouldn't go see it. It would just feel wrong to me, that's all. Hmm...now where did I put that machine gun...

  7. I dunno, I think there's a definite likeness. Maybe the Jedi he killed was Princess Jasmine?
  8. Neds can be from any Scottish city, but I suppose we get the honour of being the city where they are considered to "come from". They aren't people from Glasgow, though, since plenty of Glaswegians aren't neds. Neds are creatures that look in some ways similar to humans but are in fact a form of life lower than pond scum. To use an example from Star Wars, imagine if Darth Nihilus fed on people's misery, and wore a burberry cap and white tracksuit instead of a mask and robe, and carried a bottle of Buckfast wine instead of a lightsaber. And instead of destroying planets, he steals from shops, keys people's cars, assaults people on the street at night and just generally makes a complete and utter **** out of himself. Voila, instant ned. Best served deceased. As to how they came to be called neds, some have speculated that it is a corruption of "Teddy Boy", an old term for annoying youths of some subculture or another. Teddy Boy -> Teddy -> Ted -> Ned. A popular myth is that it is an abbreviation of Non-Educated Delinquent, but that is a case of the phrase being invented to fit the supposed abbreviation than the other way around. Truth is, I don't rightly know. But the corruption of Teddy boy is the best explanation I've heard.
  9. These pictures are truly awesome, and miles better than anything I could do, but is it just me or does Atton seem the spitting image of Jafar from Aladdin? Especially that portait on the first page...
  10. Hoe! Whut yoo sain yi coupel ah fannies!!! That's not an accent, that's a completely different language.
  11. So Luke was 18 when he beat Vader? That would mean he was at least 15 when he blew the DS. But come think of it, it's not that weird, his father had done that before. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ever seen this? Lost Scene from The Empire Strikes Back
  12. James Bond was a man from the start. So yes, changing him into a woman now would not be a very good idea. But as it stands, that's not a very good comparison. Why not? Revan was a woman from the start in my games. To me, Revan is as much a woman as James Bond is a man. Difference being that the elves at Helm's Deep was a completely unnecessary addition. It added absolutely nothing but complications. Determining what gender Revan and the exile is will open the door for books, games, movies, TV-series, toys and a whole lot of things, such as writing a story involving Revan/the exile that's actually satisfying in the end. Other than that, what other people do is not an excuse for what you do. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not excusing what I'm doing, because I'm not doing anything wrong. And the Elves at Helm's deep didn't add any unecessary complications. Woo, elves at Helm's Deep. Next scene. I don't see any complications. And yes, determining the dender of Revan and the Exile will open the door for books, games, movies, TV-Series, toys and a whole lot of other things, but if they made Revan male, I wouldn't buy them, because they wouldn't be my Revan.
  13. I don't think it is. I'm pretty sure if they decided to make James Bond a woman lots of James Bond fans would refuse to go see it. So, since Revan, who by virtue of me playing the game makes her my character in my eyes, is a woman to me, a film in which she was shown as a man would just be wrong and stupid in my eyes. And hey, even if it was an unreasonable position to take, since when has the unreasonableness of a position stopped people from taking it? Take a look on the internet for people ceaselessly moaning about Elves at Helm's Deep, for example.
  14. There's one problem with this idea: What sex is Revan? It would require the developers to make a decision on Revan's sex unless they can figure out some way of keeping it completely ambiguous for the whole film. And I sure as hell wouldn't see it if they made my Revan into a guy.
  15. The Administrator on Peragus is actually the Green Lantern. What a completely random piece of trivia.
  16. Where can I see it? Oh where? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Apologies for the lateness, but: The Saga is comp|33+
  17. I may be way off the mark here, but I think it would be a single file you download and run as opposed to a file you can only get through the updater.
  18. Ah, well, that may be the case. Personally, I've not met enough Aussies and Kiwis to be able to tell the difference (I'd imagine you'd have same trouble distinguishing Glaswegian and Edinburgh accents ). I just had a thought, though. If Jango Fett is the last Mandalorian, and therefore the only one eligible for the position, shouldn't he be called Mandalore? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jango was Mandalore why he was leading the Mercenaries, but when he and the last of the Mandalorian mercs died, there wouldn't be another Mandalore until Spar(a Arc clone of Jango) went to PLANET Mandalore and was given the title Mandalore the Resurrector. Which means he would be the one who would resurrect the Mandalorian Supercommandos out of the decendents of the Mandalorian people. Spar went wako, and the title of Mandalore went to Fenn Shysa; who was a Mandalorian commando who faught under Spar in the Clone Wars. When Fenn died, Boba Fett became Mandalore, and he is still Mandalore in present continuity, and was last seen leading the Mandalorian army against the Yuuzhan Vong. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, that's me told. I've never really been one to read an EU stuff, but thanks for the info.
  19. I'm pretty sure Stormtroopers are not clone troopers. Stormtroopers are regular guys in stupid white armour. Han Solo was a Stormtrooper at one point (when he rescued a certain wookie from a group of not quite so nice stormtroopers), and I think I remember Luke talking with his Uncle at the start of ANH about going off to join the Imperial Army like his friends did.
  20. The cause of the bag is, AFAIK, unknown. I've had it plenty of times with no speed on. However, in my case, it only seems to occur after playing the game for several hours. The best I can suggest is to save it often and then exit the game completely and reload the last save when it occurs. If that doesn't work...wait for the patch. It was fixed in KotOR's second patch, so even if they didn't have the good sense to go through the buglists of KotOR 1 before release, hopefully they'll fix all those issues in the patch.
  21. Ah, well, that may be the case. 22. Were it not for the fact that someone else edited them into the trailer, I'd be most looking forward to the subtitles in leet. Windu: You can hang with us, but we still think you're a n00b. Anakin: WTF!!!??? Classic. A shame they won't be present.
  23. The whole section with Sasha (the girl who could only speak mandalorian) would have been hilarious if she just spoke stereotypical Australian words instead of Mandalorian Twi'lek. Sasha: G'Day, Bruce? Everything Bonzer? Revan: You're Speaking some form of mandalorian...and pronouncing everything like it's a question... Sasha: Feel like a Barbie? Grab a fourex? Revan: I'll be back later. Sasha: See you in the soup? No offence intended to any Australians, BTW.
  24. Traya was the most unique and interesting character, but there's no doubt in my mind that Malak was the best villain. You really can't be a proper villain without an evil laugh, and Malak had one of the best. Having Traya as a Star Wars villain is kinda like having a Bond villain that just shoots James Bond as soon as he captures him, IMO. Sure, it's realistic and plausible, but it's not as fun without the cheesy stuff.
  25. I was led to believe (post #67) that once the game had been completed twice, extra lines would be played on the third time through (e.g. When you meet Atton he talks about being cut from the Jedi Knight game, or something similar), however, having completed it twice, light and dark, I can't see any difference. The only thing I can think of that might cause this is that a third game was started before I finished it a second time. Also, in the swkotor2.ini "GameCompleted" is set to 0. Well, that, or I've been led up the garden path.
