  1. I don't get it.
  2. I agree that the Adult link portions of the game were better, but to be honest I don't see how the age of Link, rather than the changed mood of the game, the items adult Link got, or the design of adult Link's dungeons was responsible for this.
  3. Say Hi to Chewbacca for me! "
  4. N00dles! Mmm...N00dles...
  5. Fixed <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You forgot about the "he". " The one listed as her home page in her profile.
  6. I think it would depend on the target itself. A munitions factory is crewed by civilians, but I would say that attacking one leans far closer to the second example than, say, targeting a news agency (even if it is a state-run outfit broadcasting nothing but propaganda). Something like the Firebombing of Dresden would fall squarely into Category One, regardless of whether facilities in the city were legitimate military targets. There's some point where the level of civilian casualties becomes so high that it becomes impossible to justify by saying merely that their deaths were not intended. But I couldn't say what that threshold is.
  7. So...was it just me that assumed she was female because her name starts "Fiona-"?
  8. Try looking up 'Zelda OoT walkthroughs' and see what other people have done to get through. Thats what I always do when I get stuck! As for My views on MM and OoT, Oot felt alot longer and alot harder than MM, which I like. The main two main things that I did not like in MM was that you couldnt transform into adult Link unless you had the Fierce Deity's mask, and the fact that it did not take place in Hyrule which angered me greatly. Although the shield that adult Link had did look a little funky when he would run in OoT.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I dunno, I thought the adult link was a bit of a negative in OoT. I mean, I suppose it worked well for the feel of the game, but to my mind link's meant to be a kid, so I guess that never bothered me.
  9. It looks to me like oxygen won't come through the cold sink, since that area will fill with heavier carbon dioxide. With no oxygen coming in, the rest of the igloo will also fill up with carbon dioxide unless airholes are put in.
  10. I've seen it, no idea what PMT is <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When females get angry on a monthly basis. "
  11. Hmm...I always thought they were. A D-Pad has two possible settings for each "button", on or off. Left button pressed or not pressed, up button pressed or not pressed. That's a digital system (1 or 0), right? Whereas an analog stick theoretically at least can recieve an input of every possible value in between it's minimum or maximum. So if one drew a graph of the transmisson recieved as a "left" instruction was given on both, you'd see a straight jump from 0 to 1 for the D-Pad, but a line going from 0 to 1 on an analog stick as the analog stick was moved to the maximum amount of left, going through every value on the way. That's the theory, at least. I think. Maybe the execution is different (or I wasn't paying enough attention when we went through what digital and analog devices are in Physics in school), though, but as far as I know, they are analog devices.
  12. I hated that Z button used to give me cramp in my thumb. A controller should have no more than 4 face buttons (not including start etc) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How, exactly? I mean, the Z trigger was pressed with the index finger... The only injury the N64 controller ever gave me was the dreaded Mario Party Palm.
  13. I liked Majora's Mask. It was a good concept that was fairly well executed (the only thing I really didn't like about it was the lack of a speed-up-time ocarina tune, which meant any event occuring at 5:00 or 11:00 necessitated a 5 minute wait). Was it as good as Ocarina of Time? Eh, probably not. Were either as good as Oracles? Definitely not. I've never played Wind Waker, but I definitely didn't like the first two Zeldas (the first game's plot seems too spartan to my prejudiced Link to the Past eyes, and I absolutely can't stand what they did with Zelda 2), though perhaps I'm too young to be able to view them in their original context (Final Fantasy 1's plot was spartan too, for example). Maybe Majora's Mask is the worst Zelda game, but that doesn't mean it wasn't still a bloody good game. In any case, I don't believe any Zelda game will ever again match the two Oracles games. Zelda just works better top-down.
  14. Actually, some of use are seven-foot-lizards in human-like disguises. "
  15. *sigh* Once in a while, I try not to be serious about things. Serves me right, I suppose.
  16. I thought the only thing they could agree on was that killing everyone in the other group was the solution to all their problems. " You didn't read it? "Lee was chosen as a hero that all ethnic groups could relate to in a city that remains bitterly divided after fierce fighting between Croats and Muslims during the country's 1992-95 war." Correction: Since they haven't already wiped out each other, the only thing they actually seem to agree on is not wipe out each other. They just can't relate to anything else in unison. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I read it. I also read about how that statue was vandalised. Obviously, someone isn't agreeing about disagreeing. "
  17. I thought the only thing they could agree on was that killing everyone in the other group was the solution to all their problems. "
  18. It's not going to be so much of an issue for Nintedo. They are really playing by their own rules this time around. I doubt cross platforming is going to be a big part of the revolution strategy. If the machine has run into space issues even before release then I dont see how things are going to get better. What it will most likely result in is games that last an afternoon like Gun , Kong and Kameo. If on the other hand developers have 27 GB to play around with, then there is no pressure to cut things short to save space (for other reasons , maybe but not space). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What, games that last an afternoon are short now? I completed Donkey Kong Country in under an hour. Without losing a single life. On my first go. " No, really.
  19. Wow, your Biblical knowledge is profound. " There is no mention of torture listed at all in that verse, nor any verses around it. Perhaps you should just take a time out. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Of course there is. 1 Chronicles 20:3 And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes. Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem. ^if that's not describing the torture of a people (slaves/sinners) than what is it? Is it love? is it turning the other cheek? When literally interpretting the bible (what the religious right does)(what we're talking about) this is what you get. Deal with it. Bush and the Rapture Christians *literally* apply the bible *literally* in their foreign policy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> New International Version: 1 Chronicles 20:3 [He] brought out the people who were there, consigning them to labor with saws and with iron picks and axes. David did this to all the Ammonite towns. Then David and his entire army returned to Jerusalem. "
  20. If someone has a low opinion of gays or blacks, and indicates this through slurs when they are beaten by them, wouldn't being beaten by people said someone feels are inferior indicate that they are in fact even more inferior? I mean, if one was a sensible homophobic racist (an oxymoron, I know), one would claim that the people who are cabable of beating him are all blonde, blue-eyed Aryan Ubermensch, right? But ah, how logic is lost on such stupid and hateful people.
  21. Who's? The US doesn't have a loud, and hence entertaining, congress. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree. Sounds more like Parliament. Very smelly in there.
  22. Oh god. Take That are reforming. That's like a sign of the End Times. Why God? WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN US?
  23. A woman who sells fish in a marketplace. Job requirements are lots of shouting and being smelly.
  24. Civ 4 is highly modifiable. Nothing really stops one putting in a wiccan religion (there are already mods available replacing Confucianism with Zoroastrianism, one for a new-age religion, and even one which changes all the religions into Fast Food companies), nor is it particularly difficult to give various religions the bonuses and penalties you feel are appropriate (again, there are already mods for this). the only difficulty would be that idea of the founding civ affecting the religion, though once Firaxis gives us the tools to mod the SDK code, it should be possible. Probably the worst part about making the religions identical is that can potentially be more offensive than giving them bonuses and penalties. If one is sensitive enough about one's religion to be offended by a game assigning the religion attributes, one is probably sensitive enough the be offended by one's religion gaining health bonuses from eating shellfish, pigs or cows (if one's religion has food laws).
