When there are broken quests, I find "balance" to be less important, as it is subjective. I have already read a few posts from people saying it's too easy. I care not so much about being challenged in combat, unless it's a superboss. I care alot when I cannot finish a quest or the plot suddenly leaps ahead. Seems to me there is too much focus on combat balance and I would prefer overall game balance.

[1.05 b] Armors tooltips don't show DR anymore
Cybersquirt replied to Anelor's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
Yeah. I hope this is an oversight that will be fixed - makes it tricky to "compare". Item values don't show in hover anymore, either. -
1.05 Patch Beta Live on Steam

Brothel bonuses no longer stack - you can only have one at a time. Balance sucks. -
[1.05 beta -steam] Cypher rebalancing?
Cybersquirt replied to Cybersquirt's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
Whelp, let's see if I can keep her alive long enough to cast more than 2 spells and I'll get back to you. -
[1.05 beta -steam] Cypher rebalancing?
Cybersquirt replied to Cybersquirt's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
I saw that but her max was 95... I'll have to confirm if her max went up, I guess... Still that statement, to me, implies she should only lose 25% not 50%... -
1. I've found the "hunter pets" to be the first thing that consistently dies. 2. There is a pause "button" and speed settings. This game is real-time combat... BG1 & 2 were turn-based so the comparison is moot. There were also no grazes.. This game also has a difficulty setting - have you heard that combat in this game is challenging? 3. If you turn off auto-attack what else are they supposed to do? 4. Some classes are familiar, some classes are completely new. I guess you either don't like the new ones or don't like how they've treated the familiar ones? You can modify the Chanters chants so "he" will sing more than one verse - hell, you might even create a song for him if you take a few minutes to really look at the options available to the class as he levels. 5. Refer to 1 and 4. Also, ranged weapons (hell, everything really) have a range, and it's not to the edge of the fog as they were in BG. 6. Some of these people were involved in the making of BG. 7. IMHO if you started this game with the mindset that you would have to learn a bit about it, you might realize what a gift you were given. But I guess it's easier to rage.

a level 12 Grieving Mother went from 70 focus to 35. Is this intentional?

I talk to Cwenith and eventually decide to take the quest. I'd completed the other two or three quests in the area. I run around Twin Elms to get enough positivity to allow for the option to arrest the Captain. I ask the Twin Fangs hunter about surrender and if she wants him dead. I talk to him (Captain) and tell him he'll be a prisoner in my dungeon. He's a bit too happy about it, but oh well.. He walks down the path, fade scene...everyone's gone but my party. Wasn't the Twin Fangs hunter supposed to be waiting for me? Hmm... I would attach saves but I cannot get even one below the 1mb limit. The output log.txt is attached but it did take a while for me to realize the quest had not actually completed.. Northweald.zip

[BUG]Permanent blinded icon...
Cybersquirt replied to almostdead's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hi Almostdead, Do you remember what triggered the blinded icon to appear? Such as fighting an NPC or some sort of trap. Thanks! [1.04 -steam] I was in the catacombs, chapter 3, going after the bounty.. First run through, the "combat" didn't want to end - had a few (ineffective!) priest spells going to counteract the negative spell affects like paralyzed and blind - everything was dead but the spell was still cycling and there were no countdown timers on the neg effects (fear & paralyze). -reload- Second run through, same fight, things seemed to work as they should but now I noticed my main char has what I will now call the blind-icon bug. Resting, reload, restart doesn't help. It was a spell the NPC cast on the party. And I did activate a trap while in combat? I didn't place any traps and there were no traps so it must have been a/that spell Gromnir mentions... -
Cost? I doubt it. This game was billed as iso from the start. Easier, I'm sure. And us fanboi's have NO PROLEMs with isometric graphics. I am currently playing another other iso game and I love the fact that I don't have to worry about camera angles/bobs/etc. It will be plenty "modern" without all those "newfangled" distractions.. And I have no fears about story. Here's hoping Obsidian keeps with it's promise to us gamers that are footing the bill.

"..offline mode.." What's this? I don't see anything in the settings for this...

You don't need a permanent internet connection. I have just been 2 weeks without an internet connection at all, and I was playing Steam games the whole time. Do tell..
-
I do not LIEK that I have to have a persistent internet connection (STEAM) to play a PC game. Wasn't like that last time. Won't ever buy a STEAM game again. Not w/o royalties. That said, there is a lot to love about this game.
-
I don't much care for other platforms or options, but if it ensures vociferous encouragement/engagement, I'm there.
-
I saw your influence in the dialogue but lost it in STEAM I hope the relationship with Bethesda is worth it.

The same could be said of you. Is there ever any other point you try to make other than this game (and Obsidian) sucks?
