  1. April 1st 2026. 4/1/2026, San Rafael, CA. PRESS RELEASE. Star Wars
  2. Nah not me, they toasted me once with TSL, why would I give them the chance to do it again or any other game they make for that matter? They swear up and down they learned from their mistakes from TSL. That's great, but doesn't help the bad taste I have in my mouth and lack of a patch on my machine now does it? All we have been hearing from LA and Obsidian is words, words...well words are not actions and action is what a lot of people who are having serious issues with this game want. They don't want words, they are tired of words. They can say all they want that a patch was sent to LA for QA testing but that doesn't make it so. I can tell you the sky is pink, you can either take my word for it and accept it as reality or you can stick you head outside and with one action, prove me wrong. So no, I have no intention of letting myself get burned again. Why? Why not simply give them another chance? Simple really. They've only given me words that it won't happen again and before I place my hard earned money on another of their products (present or future) I will need more than words to show me that I will not get burned again. Be it Obsidian or LA.
  3. Geez if you took the time to actually READ (yes we know that it is hard for you but try anyways) the post you will see many many people can't even get the game to start, or get the bsod, or crashes to desktop every few minutes and so much more. Also as consumers if we are given broken products, and yes, TSL is a BROKEN product, we have a right to complain and demand it be fixed. The thing is, they keep say it's being fixed but that's all they are saying. We have heard nothing else but that same statement over and over and frankly, it's getting downright annoying. If the same Lucasarts Q&A team are the same ones that did the beta testing of TSL, the well, I have no faith at all in the quality of the patch.
  4. After this fiasco, I am defiently having serious doubts about buying any further Kotor games, they can't even get a patch out so why in blazes would I take yet another chance and buy another game from them? I honestly don't care at this point who's to blame, as a consumer I really don't have to. I blame them as a whole and most assuradly will base my future purchases, if any, on this incident. They said they've learned from their mistakes, well that's just fine and dandy but it doesn't help the current situation now does it? There are still plenty of people out there that can't even get the game to run on multiple types of machine configs, or those who have crashes every time they turn around. We were told in February...FEBRURARY, that a patch will be out soon. Soon? Soon when? 2006, 2026? This is rediculous and insulting. We get no answers other than 'it's gone to Lucasarts Q&A for testing'. Is this the same Lucasarts Q&A that did the so called beta testing of this game? If so, well there goes the neighborhood.
  5. And posted the same thing 4 times in a row.
  6. Patch? Oh yeah THAT thing! Me: Runs great on my system! T3-M4: Beop beep? Me: Yes, it does run great. What are you talking about? T3-M4: Bloop bweep beepo beepbeep tweet! Me: I guess broken scripts are ok and no completion of HK-47's droid factory isn't that frustrating. HK-47: :Puzzled Inquiry: Master, why would you say such a thing. Did I not tell you that I wish to find out where these sub-standard versions of myself were coming from? Me: Well, yeah HK-47 but Lucasarts said ship it, so they did! Things had to be cut to meet the ship date. HK-47: :Frustration: Oh I see now Master. If my assassination protocols did not prevent me from harming Lucasarts staff; those meatbags would be praying to their pagan incoporeal divine being that I would press the trigger faster so they can exit this plane of reality! Me: HK, no need to get frustrated, we all are but the game is great isn't it and it runs great on our machines, right? T3-M4: BWOOOP BLEEP BLEEPOOP! Me: What? (sees smoke coming out of system and loading bar at 1/3 full) I guess that's suppose to happen, right? HK-47: :Extreme Dissatisfaction: No Master, that is NOT suppose to happen. I thought you Meatbags test your software before distributing it? Me: Well yeah, we do..well most of the time...I think. HK-47: :Annoyance: Assassination protocols activated! Well Master, point out the offender and I will blast them into space dust. Me: Well you can't, they're Lucasarts employees. HK-47: :Frustration: I see Master. This is most annoying. My assassination protocols have been activated so I must go blast someone into space dust! GoTo enters and sees the smoke coming out of system and 1/3 load bar. GoTo: Hmm analysis sugguest poor beta testing was performed on that software. I told them to fully test it before shipping. Me: You told them? Are you part of the beta team? GoTo: No, I just own a portion of the company. HK-47: :Excited Inquiry: Are you a Lucasarts employee? GoTo: No. As I said I just own....(blaster fire)...zip zoot..... (GoTo explodes) HK-47: :Relieved Frustration: (stops firing) Thank you!
  7. I've only seen that happen if a cheat was used or a trainer. The only thing I can recommend is loading a prior save before boarding the ebon hawk and trying again.
  8. It's not just one thing. Read the other post on the forums. There are plot glitches, bugs, some people can't even get it to run, and so on. Obsidian said they've learned from their mistakes and won't do the same again on NWN2. Great, but what makes them think those people with issues WILL buy NWN2 after the issues they've had with Kotor2? Faith? Trust? Sorry, some people are fresh out. Obsidian took the job and new the time frame, so they are just as much to blame as Lucasarts. I mean it's very frustrating to expect something great, be told by the dev's it's great, by the producer's that it is great, only to get something that is not great, heck, not even finished. The worse part is being told, sorry for the mistakes, we are not going to fix them but we won't do them again, promise! Oh yeah, be sure to buy our next game! So yeah, I understand some peoples frustration and downright anger over these issues. Heck, I'm even upset and I test games for a living so I know the crap that can happen. I can play the game from beginning to end but I still encounter plot glitches, bugs and such. I am dissapointed over the overall way the game turned out when seeing how much more the game could be, or should have been.
  9. Actually one game has made or broke plenty of companies. GTA made Rockstar. Doom made Id. Baldur's Gate made Bioware. Just as easily as a great game can make a company, it can also break a company, or at least steer enough of it's fanbase away to effective break it. Obsidian took on a big project, Kotor is big shoes to fill, but Obsidian was given the job. They knew the development time, admittedly short for such a game but they still agreed to it, and then set lose. What went on behind the scenes, I dunno, but from many peoples response of the finish product we can see the end result. A lackluster ending, bugs, scipt errors, corners cut, plot lines that go nowhere, quirky AI, and such. Mind you, there is a good story there, the voice acting is top-notch and with a little more time/work, we would have something great. Who's to blame, Lucasarts? Obsidian? Well actually both are. Lucasarts could have been more generous with the production timeframe but for whatever reason, they weren't and well we have what we have. Though Lucasarts is getting the reputation nowadays of playing the rush game with their titles. Obsidian knew the time frame when they signed on and said they could do it, sure we have a product one can play from beginning to end but many would argue it is woefully unfinished and the QA from Obsidian and Lucasarts dropped the ball here (or some would say they didn't even pick up the ball). I know a lot of devs at Obsidian are from Black Isle so I know the kind of quality they are capable of. All game/movies have deleted parts, that's just a simple fact of production. You design/film what you would like to be included but then the cruel cutting hand of post-production takes hold and gives you what is needed and nothing more. Now is all hope lost, no. The bugs are fixable, the story could be completed and plotlines concluded. All that is needed is some patches, mind you these patches would most likely be big (50-100 megs). Now Obsidian can't simply toss out patches because Lucasarts has the rights to the game and the final sayso, plus they have to FUND the production of patches and that's not cheap but such funds should have been included in the original contract. So if you want the whole story and nothing but the complete story so help me George Lucas, well Lucasarts is the one you need to express that to. Mind you, please express it in a polite manner and most likely impolite message would be ignored.
  10. Has anyone noticed that before the game came out, dev's were on these boards near-daily posting and chatting. Now that it's out, we haven't heard anything from them on any boards except, PATCH OUT SOON and that's it. How is treatment like that suppose to build a fanbase or get us to buy their other products now or in the furture (like Kotor 3)?
  11. Expect it around Feb 28th, 2006 and then only the beta version.
  12. Well according to the Strategy Guide DVD they have 7 complete areas made for the Droid Planet. I think it would be possible to release that as a patch for the PC and Xbox live d/l. Why not, they added content via Xbox live for Kotor to take into effect the updates they did in the PC version. Also if you have enough influence with HK, he starts to say how you can track the HK50's with the voice recorder you got, yet the conversation never goes any where. Goto even has a lot of mentions of the HK's which seem to tie into HK47's. Very annoying, they should have either: A. Deleted such references. B. Complete the storyline concerning the HK's and the Droid planet, via a patch download. (this is my choice)
  13. Hey no matter how many times I cross the finish line it says I never finish...go figure. So yep, definately a scripting issue or such that needs fixed.
  14. As it goes further into the game more will come to light and more will make sense...you hope.
  15. Well hopefull the devs are reading and will get a patch done because I would really like to swoop race. I can race but because of some scripting error or such it says I never finish the race when I do.
  16. Wow, someone has been busy! Thanks for all the hard work, it is appreciated. Now get back to playing the game!
  17. Actually I am playing my game w/o cheats, I just wanted to see if the Kotor cheats would work, and they do...well most of them.
  18. Razzit frazzit, fripping nerf herder......arghhh....well I found a glitch in my game. I I trying swoop racing and it let's me race but never records the time, it always says I need to actually finish the race? What! I just scored 37.6 time and I NEED to finish the race?? So I load a previous save and try again, same thing. Start a whole new game, get to the same point and same thing. Ok Obsidian, you gotta fix this one. It may be a script or programming glitch but it's really annoying to not be able to race when I actually want to.
  19. Unfortunately, no. Hopefully someone else can find a way to make it appear, or one of the nice devs could pop-in here and tell us! " Most item codes are the same as before, I think some have changed. If you get the Kotor Save Editor, it will pull up MOST of the new items and you can add them/edit them that way. Also, I am going through my game w/o any cheats at all, I just wanted to see if the Kotor Cheats would work.
  20. Is Vsync off, if not, turn it off? Turn off AA and anything like that, drop res to 800x600, set your windows background res to the same. Also do a dxdiag and post the report here so I can take a better look.
  21. Well after experimentation, I have found out the cheats from Kotor I work for Kotor II. Set them up the exact same way as you do in Kotor I, thing is you will not see them typed on the screen when you press ~. They do work though, try them and see. No some do not work, put most do. Also, please give credit where credit is due, don't say you found them on other boards. Now back to fair playing and oh wait phone's ringing, hmmm it's the dark side calling, gotta go, must take this call! (w00t)
  22. Any review from Gamespy needs to be taken while severly drunk. That's the only way one can suffer it. I trust Gamespy's reviews as far as I can toss the Death Star. A lot of their reviews are seriously skewed in one direction or another. As for me, I let myself be the judge and if the reviewers don't like the game, that's their loss, not mine.
  23. Hmmm I've never really checked if they were male or female. I guess because every time I've encountered them (save Canderous) they are shooting at me and cloaking. Not much time nor inclination to stop and ask if they were a man or woman! "
