  1. The first "beta" of Liero was done around -94. And man, it was awesome.
  2. "We...think alike" Another great one would be Strange and Mr Norrel. Low magic, low key and so lovely Victorian.
  3. That's the informal way to say "I'm not one of you". *salutes you* Then again, I've yet to buy the game.
  4. Exam in two hours. Whee.
  5. Every spell does that.
  6. ^You, mister unknowndude, have taste. Please post more often. I live in a dream! My life is a failure! :'(
  7. I use that in the beginning of every fight. Spell distruption rocks. Force missiles are even better though, once you get them.
  8. Shouldn't you read all the post before replying?
  9. Ravenloft is too gothy. But if it really needs to be a gothy world; please someone do a crpg in Hellsingverse. ^______^ S-T-Y-L-E. And it has a huge amount of balls. Attitude without being punky or emo. And the lore is rich as well. Just keep the stupid giant-boobed police girls away and throw in shovelfulls of Alucard. Mmm-mmm.
  10. If I had to play a generic "save-the-world-and-kill-demons-and-bush****-elven-damsels"-crpg in generic fantasy world, I'd like it to be the richest one: Dragonlance. That thing is so good, the novels are awful, but oh the world is so good Tolkien-strain apocalyptic high fantasy. A serious crpg should have a different world, however.
  11. It's the quintessential drama series. The actor of the mother should get an Emmy.
  12. Stopping history and watching an episode of FMA. I suck. But at least my taste in music is borderline good.
  13. I'm so gonna buy Bone when they finish all of the episodes. I love the comic.
  14. Heheh, cleric of protection and righteousness dualed to a blood-mad fighter. :D I should totally read history now. And I will.
  15. I haven't watched a lot movies lately, really I only caught some parts of Kurosawa's Ran and wasn't terribly impressed, but I have to say that Weeds is the drama series for me. It's just so hilariously funny in it's way of portraying people as grey, not black and white. Almost beats Nip/Tuck and Six Feet Under.
  16. You'd think it was easy to do a D&D crpg from a different perspective though. I think we are just very very biased(not in a bad way) thanks to the fact that that top-down crpg style has been the best way so far that a D&D crpg has been handled. Well, it's almost the only way.
  17. Did I say that? I just stated that those spells that tend to make the most damage get used often. Of course it changes with how much power you acquire and how your level adjusts the enemy's toughness. Consider that it's combat crpg , you get fireball early(relatively early at least), it does an increasing amount of elemental damage(common damage reductions can't hold it back) as you level to a whole lot of creatures and the next similar thing(of course discounting cone of cold, since while it's an area of effect spell, it's not the same) you are going to get is what....sunfire? So, fireball going to see a lot of use. And, if I recall correctly, you can adjust the area of effect in 3.5. No killing party members anymore. Isn't the most common enemy in crpgs goblinoids anyway? Fireball kills them in droves(exceptions occur of course). But, I agree with you. There are far more useful spells.
  18. 80 pages...left... Though with this and this, time flies by.
  19. I hope they leave it dead. BG story is done and spiritual successors can be named something else. I for one don't want entirely different writers who have most likely different goals and targets in mind to touch the BG saga. What the heck would you base a third game around anyway? Bhaalspawn's progeny? Seems like grasping at straws to me. Can we agree that an original IP at least has a lot more potential?
  20. You can twist it whatever way you want.
  21. Not in a crpg. If this was pnp, then sure, I'd agree with you. But as it is, buff and the highest possible damage spells are the only ones players are going to use extensively. Fireball, fireball, fireball? You bet.
  22. Can't you get the information from character creation eventually? The feat descriptions should be readable even if they are greyed out. Unless NWN 2 has it differently. And of course, for example, you can't read the Great Cleave information without having normal Cleave, since the button comes into the space taken by the Cleave feat previously.
