  1. You guys (and gals) are awesome. I haven't met much KOTOR ppl that love being DS. Much Kudo's here. <------DS player all the way.
  2. Ok, In KOTOR 1 there's been a large response (as per my investigation of various message boards) that HK-47 was the best character in terms of situations and dialogue. Personally, I was a DS player in KOTOR 1 so I used hiim a lot. All the dialogue he said was funny as heck. But cruising these boards, I'm having a hard time finding the "breakout" character of TSL. Some say Kreia, others say Visas, while others still say HK steals the show. I just wanted to know whom (in your opinion) is the best secondary character in 'The Sith Lords'? Personally, I think it's Atton. He beats Han Solo in terms of wise a** remarks. Exxxxcellllllent. (Just wanna know who is the best character)

  4. Holy crap, I forgot about this thread! I've been trying to get HK's definition of love but can't seem to get that mutha out of him. Do I have to woo one of them? Like, "wanna jump in their pants" woo? My guy is more like a ruthless, no-love-for-me, kind of guy...
  5. Hmmm, As a secondary melee attack, I gave Mandalore two Gamorrean War Axes. I used with with Visas and Atton (both Jedi'ed) at the Dxun temple. Didn't really have a problem hitting...in fact, I was tearing it up with all 3 of 'em. I guess it all depends on luck and where you spent your points....or how to get around those penalties. "
  6. Voted No. Hey, I buy a game expecting it to be COMPLETED. Ok, I'm a Star Wars fan, but when sh!t like this gets regurgitated out because of deadlines (friggin L.A.), I ain't buying it. I blame LucasArts for the extreme deadline given to Obsidian. I HONESTLY BELIEVE that if Obsidian had more time, this game would have kicked KOTOR 1 in the azz. My goodness, I love the extra stuff in this game, but because of the cutoff deadline, it's just nuts. Anyway, I really hope that they give KOTOR 3 the love it deserves. If they don't put the HK factory in 3, I hope they put out a "directors cut" where it IS completed. Hey, I think Obsidian did a kick a** job in this game but L.A. screwed things up because of a concrete deadline. Don't hate O.E. hate L.A. (but to reiterate, if K3 has this much bugs, I ain't buying it)
  7. Blah Blah Blah, We can debate this until the sun sets. But lets just say this, say if/when KOTOR 3 comes out and they describe why Nihilus was how he was in the game , would everyone be happy? Personally, his PRESENCE was felt more than his actual persona. I mean.. (SPOILERS MAN!!!!!!) He's a friggin world killer, he's destroying everyone and every living thing. Every player, including myself, is looking at this and thinking "OMG, Its the boss!!!!". Was I disappointed? Yeah. But after thinking about it and playing the game again, I'm understanding on maybe why he was how he was. Just listen how everyone describes the Exile and Nihilus. Note down how the similarities are and then we'll talk. I think if/when KOTOR 3 comes out, we'll understand things more...much like ESB and ROtJ. Peace out, baby.
  8. There has been a lot of discussion about Darth Nihilus throughout these boards...and I've been lurking on these boards for longer than my registration says so I've seen some of these hypotheses, ideas, comments evolve. Well, I can think of two main reasons behind the "Darth Nihilus" syndrome. 1) It/He truly IS just a marketing ploy. He's undoubtably (sp?) one of the better looking villains in 'Sith Lords'. I mean, if Darth Sion was plastered everywhere, would you be as eager to pick up TSL? Aesthitics aside, Nihilus seems the most likely candidate for posting his image everywhere....I mean, come on, the game IS called the SITH Lords. 2) Darth Nihilus plays a larger role in the game than most gamers realize. True, he's mentioned a lot in the game before you actually encounter him. But after playing the game again I'm finding more and more similarities between the Exile and the description given to Nihilus. Also, a lot of posters here have given a lot of theories on Nihilus that I've thought about. I'm thinking that maybe . Pardon the tags, but I wouldn't use them unless you beat the game... This isn't the 'Spoiler' forum so please excuse them. The more I think about the relationship, the more I'm convinced it's true. Just my ramblings...
  9. Sheesh, some people are thinking waaay too hard for the question (and yes, I understand where y'all are coming from). I prefer the Darkside. I have yet to beat the first KOTOR as a lightsider...and I probably won't simply because I agree with the Sith teachings more and find the Jedi reprehensible. I'm glad the Jedi Council was wiped out. In my version of KOTOR, Lord Revan went back to Korriban to (unsuccessfully) unite the Sith. The Exile-General led his troops to their deaths and killed off the remaining Jedis. I figure this, I'm "nice" IRL, so why should I be in games? Shouldn't you explore other aspects of your persona to see what they are like? I say teach the Jedi the lesson they deserve.
  10. I thought Goto made those equations and hypotheses with the stabilization/destabilization of the planets already? Even with whatever path the Exile takes, I thought Goto still calculated the collapse of the Republic. However, your explanation is satisfactory, HK-74. Kudo's.
  11. Sheesh gang, ease up. " I'm glad this dude (or gal) had a good time playing KOTOR 2. I mean, we all know that there are bugs in the game, but at least this poster tries to look past em...basically looking at the positive aspects of the game. Personally, I'm happy that someone got some enjoyment out of this game (I did, despite the bugs) But I would have recommended that you chop down anyone else that stands in your way.....or who won't bend their knee to you. DS'er forever! Mwa-ha-ha-ha-haaaaaaa.
  12. In talking with Goto for a second run through of the game (and weirdly enough, I'm enjoying it a little more), I noticed something in our initial conversation that I missed the first time. Goto basically says that in one galactic standard month, the Republic will fall. He goes on to say that unbeknownst to the public, the Republic lost the War (forget which one exactly). Ok, Goto predicts that in a standard month the Republic will fall. So, if this is the case (probably based on his calculations) how does this effect a possible third installment of the KOTOR series? If any...
  13. I dunno...depends on which side each person picked for "their" Revan. I think it would have been pretty interesting to see the Exile kneel before Darth Revan like he did before. Darth Revan orchestrating the campaign and the Exile leading the Sith troops to victory... (I'm a DS player)...but see what I mean? The combo's would be nuts. DS Revan-LS Exile DS Revan-DS Exile LS Revan-DS Exile LS Revan-LS Exile The outcomes are incredible! (But for a DS-DS ending, yah I would've liked to seen the Exile bending the knee to Lord Revan).
  14. Ok enough with the bashing and the "Nihilus is the best" threads....I wanted to see something entirely different. Well, in The Sith Lords I've found that there are far more amusing situations and dialogue than I previously realized. Like Atton's sarcastic comments (I like them), to other various situations. I was rather curious into finding out which parts in TSL did everyone find amusing...and YES, I really do want to know what was funny and why. Here's mine....with spoilers. What's everyone elses one?
  15. Yes, it is in your inventory...but you have to cycle through the item options...it's under "quest items" or "misc". And yes, it would be pretty nice to wear Nihilus' mask....I mean, I heard you could wear Revan's mask afterall....but the devs knew what they were doing apparently.
  16. To the original poster... I would wait to see if they correct some of the bugs and errors (the technical parts) to this game when it's released in the EU. Unfortunately, I don't see how they are going to fix all the plotholes and whatnot (storyline problems). Personally, I like KOTOR and I expected the KOTOR series to be a trilogy. The "first" trilogy (ANH, ESB, ROtJ), the "second" trilogy (TPM, AOTC, ROtS)...not to mention all the Expanded Universe books. LucasArts loves its trilogies. Nevertheless, many posters bring up the good point that there should have been at least a little more closure in this game....or at least fix more of the sidequests. My suggestion would be to rent this game if that option is available to you, if not....borrow it from someone else who bought the game. ......or wait for the release of a "Directors Cut". "
  17. Nooo! How can you guys do that to the one and only HK-47? He's the MAN!.....ok, droid. But he's still the best! But seriously, I didn't get the quest yet. Which Rodian are you guys talking about?
  18. 2 Reds. It's so much fun watching Jedi try and fend me off. That's when I decide to not choke them to death...that is.
  19. Ok....lemme try steer this thread back. Brace yourselves, this might be a big post. -------------------- Well, I voted for the original KOTOR...but not by much. Now, I'll try and backup my reasoning with evidence instead of just saying "Numbah 1 wuz better". But I'll also point out the pro's and con's of both games from my point of view. KOTOR The original KOTOR broke the mold of console RPG's. The fact that you could choose the Light or Dark was a novel idea and the freedom of choosing your side was excellent. The storyline of the original was unique and held a lot of plottwists that blew (or hopefully blew) your mind. Relatively bug free, the story flowed rather smoothly and gameplay was transitionally easy. The bad side of KOTOR was the conflicting of interests (a DS character side-by-side with Carth for example). How could a goody-goody side with a bada**? Another thing was the extreme lack of variety for the NPC's...talk to the NPC's and you'll know what I'm talking about. PROS: Storyline (Transition and Execution). Innovative combat. Wide variety of conversation. CONS: Conflict of Interests. Lack of variety. THE SITH LORDS (TSL) The second installment, IMHO, pushed the combat system into a whole new area. I loved the fact that you could change your weaponry ingame instead of having to jump into that menu screen. The influence factor changing your companions totally fixed the conflict of interest that the first game didn't cover. The customizability of weaponry and armor was a big improvement. Dialogue options are expanded and new ways to converse with your team and other NPC's grow depending on what attributes you develop. Storywise, it is much more mature than the original KOTOR. It actually makes you think and doubt whether or not the Jedi are right for the universe. The game brings up constant examples of how the Jedi screw things up, even with their best intentions. But, it also makes you question whether the Sith are just as good for the galaxy. I loved the fact that the story questioned you constantly about the "righteousness" of the Jedi, or the brutality of the Sith.. Unfortunately, the game itself is full of bugs. Unfinished sidequests, broken dialogue trees, choppy story transition are all part of this game. Most important for me, the story itself suffers under the weight of all the missing sidequests, rough transitions, etc. PROS: Vastly improved combat system, Influencing your pawn...er...party members, mature storyline. CONS: Missing sidequests, bugs, choppy storyline. -------------------- I'm not commenting on the ending just because I've realized (after watching Empire Strikes Back), The Sith Lords is the second installment of a trilogy. The story of TSL is good, IMO, simply because it questions the morality of the Jedi and the Sith. In a weird way, I am reminded of Jolee Bindo in this game. However, the missing sidequests, broken/looping dialogue is troubling and worse of all, the storyline itself (its transition and delivery) is harmed. I would say that if you played KOTOR, you should play Sith Lords...but just expect a heck of a lot of questionable execution. (Oh, I really liked Darth Sion...and yes, I understood him COMPLETELY)
  20. Honestly guys and gals...here's my opinion, Well, for one I bought the game for my X-Box because like many, I couldn't wait for this game. Yes I am a Star Wars fan, so rightly I picked up this game thinking that it would be like KOTOR (or even surpass it). In some was it did. The combat system, IMHO, hands-down beats the original KOTOR. Switching between melee and ranged weapons in the middle of combat, changing lightsaber styles for various opponents...all of that was a welcome change. It made the battles much more interesting. Unfortunately, I feel the game GREATLY sacrificed the story and plot. There are stories that are introduced and put in your questlog (ala KOTOR 1) that CANNOT BE COMPLETED. I won't name them all, unless you want to visit the Spoliers forum, so please keep this in mind. This is a rushed game, blame LucasArts for the deadline, so I would HIGH RECOMMEND waiting. Or if you have to, rent the game before you play it. If Obsidian completes more of the game before it is released for the PC, or if they have patches planned, then I would recommend this game. For myself, I truly hope Obsidian somehow creates a patch for the X-Box version. I don't have X-Box live so I hope they somehow make it where I could play their patch without having to download it. IMHO, Sith Lords storyline is sorely lacking due to the large plotholes in it. My friends IRL who also purchased this game said that it feels like Obisidian focused too much on the game mechanics and didn't pay enough attention to the storyline. This game has a good and innovative combat system, but this isn't the reason to get the game. If I could go back, I would've waited to pick this game up. LucasArts should have known that Obisidian needed an extension for this game, but it was pushed out the door too early.
  21. I'd rather not play Revan again. KOTOR 1 was Revan, KOTOR 2 was the Exile...lets have someone else come in. But I want the HK Factory, damnit!
  22. The whole descriptor thing is sooo last year. Incidently, it's really hard to enjoy one without the other. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lol. Wisea**. "
  23. Sith Lord. I would know how to run a friggin campaign against the Jedi. The Dark Side of the Force is an ally...not a tool, like most ignorant Sith "Lords" think it is. Reward it, and it will reward you. I'd make entire worlds fear me. I'd let their fear fuel the Dark Side. My teachings to permeate the Jedi order and corrupt it until Darth Sidious came to power and made sure the last remnants of the Jedi Order collapsed. Yes, I hate the Jedi...they should all burn.
  24. Statement: "Story" is more important than "Combat" to me...and I fear that KOTOR 2 concentrated too much on the combat options than the Story....
