  1. Can you switch to first person ?!? Third person nonsense makes me cry like a baby, ironically, the main reason why i never played Gothic (well, that, and the fact somebody said it was similar to 'Morrowind', hugh...)
  2. It's a trend...
  3. Goths are idiots, who needs idiots in this game ?!?
  4. Better fashionable then any of the I.E. games as well. Frankly, i hate helmets, visors were pretty cool actually...
  5. You can check the origin on of my name and avatar in my sig... The Opus131 is the greatest peice of music ever written in any age and any style... B)
  6. Tsk, i'm posting this at work and i didn't want to open those links, lest somebody lurks behind my back and sees i'm looking at spiders rather then work, may bad...
  7. I read somewhere that those spider crawl out of the sand and run towards you at full speed to hide under your shadow. They also like to infiltrate inside tents and come out at night to feed, not cool to sleep with those things around. I'm sure this behavior is what made those insects so popular, which then resulted in that exagerated myth. Those aren't really spiders BTW, they belong to a unique family of arachnids which lays beetween spiders and scorpions. BTW, the funnel web spider i posted IS very aggressive, but it doesn't chase people down. Unfortunatly, that's the only part of the story which is myth, everything else it's true, down to the fact those fangs can penetrate your shoes. This animal it's so dangerous that the pest control suggests to ran away and call somebody to take care of it rather then try to kill it yourself, lol...
  8. Actually, I believe that we did land on the moon, but the video that was broadcast was fake due to technology limitations at the time. Seems more likely than that the whole thing was fake. Was the video fake ?!? I'm not convinced. Besides, wouldn't the land siting be visible from a telescope ?!?
  9. I think they are referring to her voice...
  10. Again ?!? We already went throught a discussion about your character being in the mandalorian wars not meaning squad for his development as a jedi. He could have been a pilot on a supply ship for all you freaking know...
  11. I'm starting to love those screen shots. Dark and brooding, i guess they weren't kidding when they wanted to base this off the Empire Strikes Back, the original KOTOR looked too much like the new Star Wars...
  12. Chris Avellone-"The player does not have amnesia, does not start the game with amnesia, does not get amnesia over the course of the game, and he/she is quite clear who, what, and where he is at all times. Nor does he/she have any problems with memory, lurking pseudo-personalities, multiple personality disorders, submerged personalities, or any personality problems except what you induce through gameplay by being a nice guy, a jerk, or both. "
  13. Considering it's said to be the deadliest spider on the planet, i'm not sure how funny that is. I remember watching a documentary about those things, nasty stuff. They look cool as hell thought : http://home-1.tiscali.nl/~ldvdberg/atrax2.jpg http://hem.spray.se/minax/galleri/bilder/hf4.jpg http://www.htwm.de/lkirsten/trichternetzspinne.jpg http://surfnett.de/chriscross/gifte/atrax4g.jpg
  14. An uncle of mine who lives in australia had the pleasure to meet a sidney funnel web spider once. I'm still not sure why people even live there anyway...
  15. Well, she did became a wizard when she was called Imoen, so who knows...
  16. Terrible idea, let's just stick to the sword shall we...
  17. What's to assume ?!? She has a freaking Lightsaber... B)
  18. You are not the first to suggest that. Hopefully, it's not true. I don't want Bastila back...
  19. Ok, i see what's going on here. When i said there is no light in space, i never meant to imply light cannot exist in the syderal vacuum, only that there's isn't much of it, if at all. As for you heart/moon reflection theory, i'm not quite sure what you just said there, i think i'll ignore that comment. However, i will say this. Even in close proximity to a star, object in space shouldn't lit to such an extend as we've seen in basically every single sci-fi movie out there. A small fighter would only cast a glimpse of reflection surrounded by pitch black shadows, berely visible unless you get real close. A manned defence turret just doesn't make sense in my book. It's unpratical, it's unnecessary, it's dangerous, it's just down right dumb and plain annoying. Do computers exist in the Star Wars universe at all ?!? Just wondering...
  20. Who said that light can't travel throught vacuum ?!? What the heck are you talking about ?!?
  21. So what, what's that got to do anything ?!? Revan lead the republic, he didn't charge the battle field flying around with the force cutting down giant spaceships with his light saber. The fact he was a Jedi didn't have any bearing whatsoever in the outcome of the Mandalorian wars. He was a strategical genious, that's what made the difference... No they are not, get that out of your head. It takes one artillery unit to blast a Jedi (and his entire unit) out of existance for being stupid enought to charge the enemy in an open field. Jedi can hold their own against a small group of enemies (let's say, a few gard troops), but in an open battle field ?!? I don't think so. My Samurai analogy holds true because the skills of a Jedi are as useless in a Star Wars conflict as a Katana was in World War II. Unless of course we take the prequels into account, where wars are fought with weak, uncordinated droids and gunslings. Sh*t, i think the US army has better weapons than that... I guess my point went over your head. Sure they can hold their own in a large scale battle, not as Jedi though... Yeah, i guess the force can be useful whislt the enemy if smoldering the entire planet to fine dust... Now it's you who are making nebolous analogies. A Jedi isn't comparable to a Navy Seal. A Navy Seal IS a soldier, trained for a specific role in the scope of modern warfare A Jedi training is not aimed at learning skills partaining open conflict. As a Jedi, he is fairly useless unless he learns the necessary skills. Remember that this whole argument started with the idea to prove that your character involvement in the Mandalorians wars didn't have any bearing in his personal growth as a Jedi, hence, the fact that you start with no XP in KOTORII without falling into the same trappings of Kyle Katarn, the guy who was Jedi Master and choose not to use the force, and thus loosing everything. Now that's a little extreme if you ask me...
  22. It is fantasy.. sorry Opus That's not a valid exscuse. Am i the only person in the universe who understands the concept of 'suspention of disbelief ?!?' The reason why ships are over illuminated is because that's how it started out and how it has been for a long time. If you want to go with reality all the ships should be painted matte black reflecting little to no light, if there was any around. The reason why this wont happen is because people don't like "seeing" black objects flying through space.. and it makes gunning them down much harder (especially since all turrets seem to be manual <_<), bad for gameplay and some such. I guess you are right, in the end, if it wasn't for 'people' something as stupid as Star Wars wouldn't have become so popular...
  23. Err Opus there is light in space Where ?!? also as you can see by the anoying sun glare the SW:KotOR turret battles also taken place in a star system and not deep space. Even in a 'star system' there wouldn't be enought light to illuminate things to such detail.
  24. Because the sun irradiates them with light. An object as small as a star fighter shouldn't be so easy to see no matter how close to the sun you are, and that doesn't even take into account the fact that most of the times, i doubt there's a star nearby to illuminate the battlefield, Star Treck comes to mind... Er..., stars generate their own light... There isn't. There are light sources, but that's quite irrilevant. Fact is, in space, you shouldn't be able to see anything... I'm not sure how those would help visibility... Don't try to rationalize anything, please. Ho, and the first person who says 'this is a fantasy' without even taking into consideration the willing suspention of disbeleif it's going to get stabbed in the eyes...
