Indeed, after all the Sith baffoons i met before that point (bar Yuthura), it was refreshing to meet this guy who politely 'greeds' me to the accademy, defenatly gave me a sense he wasn't a complete idiot. Pity he had to die, he would have been a perfect canditate to reclute for my new order of the Sith, which requires great control over the force and the dark side, complete mastery of the light saber as well as a GED...

Number of recruitable npcs?

KOTOR had 10 as well, even though the first one you meet doesn't really mean much. Perhaps it's the same with KOTORII... -
:D Imagine the Arena scenes in EPII made by Tarantino... They wouldn't have had enough fake blood and limbs in all of Hollywood. Yeah, but picture all the horrible dialog too...

I guess you never heard of a point and click interface. I shudder at the idea of playing the game without a cursor, setting up commands, actions and skills must have took an half hour for each battle. And how do you turn around without a mouse ?!? And how do you set short cuts without a keyboard ?!? If the E3 demo is any indication of how the game plays on a xbox i think i'll pass...

On the PC i had a mouse.

My favored race is... human. Seriously, most Star Wars races are freaking goofy anyway...

Please, well-written dialogue be in!

Deus Ex. Never liked the dialog in that game. The voice acting was particularly hideous. I always felt Deus Ex was over-rated in terms of story and over all 'deph'. What made the game so great in my view was the gameplay, which was downright brilliant... -
Frankly, i don't think prestige classes are going to work very well. Jedi classes didn't work all that well either. The thing about prestige classes is their uniqueness. Unfortunatly, when it comes to Jedi, there isn't much you can do. You can be a melee master, or a force user master, all in different shapes and levels, and that's about as unique as you can get. In KOTOR, i played as a Gardian, a Sentinel and a Consular, and though my playing style varied with each character, it really didn't feel like i was playing a different class. As far as i can see, prestige classes seem to offer very little in terms of customization, and i think Obsidian is sort of slapping them there just because the Biowenies are asking for them. Plus, with the ridicolously high level cap, we have 30 levels at our disposal and no unique skills to gather, just new force powers after the other, frankly, by the middle of the game i'll propably loose any interest in leveling...

Have you ever heard of the phrase 'Breaking the Willing Suspension of Disbelief' ?!? Sorry, but 'it's a fantasy' is not an exscuse...

I didn't say another Torment game, i said another Torment, as in, another game of that order... -
Hopefully, they'll correct this issue for the sequels. Frankly, i wouldn't mind that at all. Less (and more challenging and detailed) combat is a good thing as far as i'm concerned. One of the things i loathed the most in BG2 was the insane amount of combat, it got old very quick, and after a while it became a chore. Make combat more interesting, but less frequent. This will make battles more memorable, and more entartaining as well. Yeah well, we already have the 'you can't use force/cast spells while wearing armor' D&D restriction (which doesn't make ANY sense in either games), i think being unable to use a shield while wielding a light saber is perfectly reasonable. Nope, none at all. As shown in the movies, blaster bolts are considerably slower then a normal projectile weapon (as slow as an arrow even), and bullets can't be deflected either. A droid mounted with two high frequency photon mini guns (imagine several hundreds minute blaster bolts per second) would make life very miserable for a Jedi. Not to talk about granades and rockets. You couldn't deflect grandes in KOTOR, and any attempt would only make the granade explode in your face. The fact is that we haven't seen much in the order of weaponry in KOTOR. In Star Wars, they had all kinds of war machines. From giant artillery droids, to colossal walking Juggenauts, all the way to planetary sized doom machines, this is how modern wars a fought. In a battlefield, Jedi skills would be has useful as a Samurai in any modern skirmish. All you have is an poorly trained soldier branding a melee weapon against a walking command center, not good where you are part of an artillery infantry unit, would it matter that he could kill anybody in single combat ?!? I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to employ battle driods and infantry units with weapons powerful enought to blow a hole in a battle cruiser, in KOTOR you just don't get a sense of the irrilevance of your personal power in the large scheme of things.

'Different' ?!? Is that different has in 'differently able' ?!? I would defenatly like it to be well written and well thought out rather then be like the Star Wars movies and your average fantasy CRPG (particularly if made by Bioware). You were trying to exscuse the blandess of the KOTOR romances by saying it was reminescent of the Star Wars romance, which aslo implies that you consider the Star Wars romance to be bland in the first place. The fact is, Bastila romance was as shalow as it was boring. If they can't improve upon it, i'd rather have none at all...

The only one who's ever looked like he died from a lightsaber injury was Darth Maul...

Let me get this straight. Are you saying that : a) Star Wars sucks b ) Everything Star Wars has to be a perfect replica of the movies c) Therefore everything in the Star Wars universe has to suck. ? Interesting...

Odd, i too had problems with the language at the time, and i used a dictionary to get throught the game as well, interesting, nay ?!? I almost went nuts trying to figure out Hanna's contorted idiom, fun times... Torment is also my favored game, and i hope Obsidian does a great job with KOTOR2, still, i wouldn't expect a game of the same caliber, too many restrictions. However, if KOTOR2 is a success, i hope it might allow Obsidian to develop another Torment, who knows... -
How about better dialog options and less cliched characters to romance with in the first place ?!? Would that too much to ask ?!? Ho wait, you guys think KOTOR romances were the epidome of literary perfection, nevermind...
-
My exact thoughts on the KOTOR romances...

Considering that you only play CRPGs, why are you even replying to this ?!?

I still don't understand why anyone would want a black lighsaber. The color would be barely visible. Indeed. As for my part, i want a white light saber, with a silver hilt...

yeah, homosexuality is the latest thing, real cool That would be 'metrosexuality' actually. Is that grottesque enought ?!?
-
How many Star Wars games have you played ?!?

This is why i can't stand Star Wars fans...

I think the word you are looking for is perverted, and it's interesting how some old school light saber lovin' is dirty, but slaughtering innocents it's perfectly in order, i think americans have their priorities screwed up. I say less explotions and more naked boobs, europians really know how to get it on... er...

13. Ho, and yes, Beethoven owns you... B)
