  1. So you'd actually like if besides levels that classes or alignments were added too, as in your case it would be chaotic/rookie/n00b? If I got the pattern if any (chaotic) of your previous posts right...or I was less of a troll.
  2. If he bonds thru the force and thus sort of suck (as a force vampire) on the force of others, how can you tell that he didn't also link to the council and if drained actually would drain them as well?
  3. Lets face it, you were not meant to be a Nosferatu :D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Given time anything can be found, but unlike the chars we play, we are not immortals ourselves and our time is limited. I too thought in the very beginning that the 'siding' was going to take place early on depending on which clan you picked. I picked a Brujah from an utterly creepy standpoint of 'continuing' my bloody adventure from Redemption. That line of discussion has seen a lot of wear and tear, so nm.
  4. So what if I'm a gullible romantic...that uses words that explain a lot like 'until'. You don't think it's something you'd like to use or could be trusted with, seriously, flags i.e. ? edit: something seriously snuck out.
  5. How fitting for a way of topic, that I should forget... Instead of adding one, I made two and went completely over the top... That should be illegal too, should be a filter or something to stop that too.
  6. Instead of ranting on about flags, I'd like to see one-liners and pure emoticon answers being a banning offence too. edit: some american snuck in.
  7. That's the idea, generally self-restraint....and a little Big Brother (see next line). In some cases, mods should remove the flags and label it as general bs until the user see the light...
  8. I like having an effect on my party, but I don't think the Influence system in K2 is new. The new thing is that you are informed when you gained or lost some, it's like a failsave for those people that doesn't have time to read dialogue or the brains to understand the dialogue, but still would like to know where it's generally headed... I think messages like that are really out-of-character and should be avoided entirely. Didn't need it in K1 or any of the other games where dialogue, story and characters developed naturally, but maybe it's a sign of dumber things to come and somewhat in line with the fears expressed in Games that make you think.
  9. Unfortunately they will start to turn ugly as well. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They'll lose the fluffy cuteness, but I think that's actually an improvement. edit: something actually snuck in.
  10. Hmmm, this is also the place where you put ideas for the forum or is that way off-topic or generally removed? Anyway... Would be nice with some more flags that works similar to the link for Dev notes. Like "On-topic" as some of those threads around are huge and full of nothing, and it would be really nice to skip the nothingness and only see the on-topic posts. For instance to read thru the ideas in the thread on ideas for KotOR3 part #??...an option to see just the ideas and skip the discussion and various non-value adding outbursts would have been really nice...if flags like that already is in place, please point in the right direction. Could be some categories for every post like uh: On-topic, Agreement, Discussion, General BS, Bumping... Compared to K2 or NWN2 this should be rather easy for you...so, erm, please? (w00t) edit: some bewildered smilie snuck in.
  11. The council was flawed and made countless mistakes and they were about to make another and fail again. Had they succeeded they would probably have killed you and themselves as well, I think. This is just BS with a nail gun, of course.
  12. I think... It hit me like a bullet and I was way to busy gasping for air between the laughs to actually notice...
  13. Ugh, how about a summary of all the ideas that have been added so far?
  14. Add to that ^ that a little imposed malkavian insanity works just as well to dodge some situations. Dealing with the food critic in Hollywood as a nossie is a guaranteed LOL. Try them.
  15. I am confused. Making choices and see the results are just great, but you actually wanna play each game exactly the same?
  16. That's pretty shallow. If you play torment as a free-form adventure game (some variant of a chaotic person, if it's even a candidate for roleplaying) you only need to 'think' about the solution and tactical combat at hand, but if you try to play a specific alignment, to roleplay, you actually need to think about it in the long run as well. Maybe it's just me, but my fantasies have a tendency to revolve around women and sometimes they can be rather uh, complex, but otherwise I agree - I think...
  17. Besides adding a lot of content and being a generally keen eye, he's pretty handy as battlesupport. Nothing worse than having allies obstructing force jump paths. Better suited in the background. Depends on style, but I prefer having disciple(s)...
  18. My point exactly!! strong emotions CAN lead to d darkside of the force. and through the way i figure it, Bastila and Revan love each other, and because of their bond they obviously have strong emotions for one another. Nah, it's not love... Some of the borderline cases and mentally deranged crazy stalkers have an unhealthy tendency to confuse love with obsession, jealousy, etc...it's when things get dirty around you that you can get smudged...unless you got a strong psyche. Bastila didn't have that.
  19. That's true. I have had some problems with Silent Storm and other games, because of *some* issues with totally unrelated hardware (DVD), where I actually had to resort to hacking (no-cd versions) to play my legal games. I don't like that at all.
  20. There is a difference between being evil and monstrous, imo. Often overlooked in D&D cRPG's, where they both count towards the same alignment. There's a humanity rating in Vampire TM, which is nice guiding line. Being humanly darkside that's my intent. It was more fun in K1 than in TSL, imo. Off-topic: Sacrificing beauty for power, really seems to be the way of the Jedi, somehow, more than of the Sith, which are so emotional. Disfigurement is really just a symptom of insufficiency of the vessel, imo. They may have the inclination, but they don't have the strength of body. Anyway... It was really fun and educative to play DS in K1. Having HK-47 and Canderous in the party was really an inspiration on Korriban and following the tutelage of the sith was something I missed in TSL, where a similar experience or guidance would have been really nice. Balancing the line between evil or monstrous can so easily get out of hand. It requires skill to be DS and it's also quite taxing. You don't have to think to play LS, just be a nice person and do good all the time and everything is fine. It makes me wanna puke sometimes.
  21. Since Troika unfortunately has disbanded and some have joined with Obsidian (Horay! and hopefully they all will) it would be really nice to see what kind of game the old fallout crew could make...KotOR3 or new IP. Bloodlines and Lightsabers, whoa... (w00t)
  22. I don't think that the price really means anything vs. piracy. People that use copied games are not pirates, even though the act is considered piracy. They are misguided. That's why I say that only you and me can stop it. We are rolemodels and guides ourselves - we need to safe them from eternal damnation, they need to see the light...but without any of that selfrighteous ranting. Everybody wants to have fun, but for some odd reason they don't actively look ahead for more fun...by investing in the future. I guess they probably need more incentive. Imagine that, if by registering a game that you were actually able to play it...or received a service of equal value...a reason to actually own and a reason not to copy - since you wouldn't be able to register and play and get all the goodies.
  23. Laws are needed to protect us from those that breaks them, and they work, but they don't prevent crime. The witch hunt isn't the solution....it never were. There are only two people in the world that can stop piracy and it's you and me. Edit: Maybe pay-per-play can be done eventually and help us too.
  24. Not mentioning puzzles and board games. It's really nice to come across a game where a single problem can be solved in a lot of different ways and not just by dialogue...like some of the cRPG games from BioWare/Interplay/Troika. Need more of those. Trying out different solutions are so much more fun, when it's actually possible. Unfortunately you often only need to think once. Next time you play the game it's just a routine, unless you are the lucky amnesiac type that wakes up on a slab with no memory of who you are or what games you played *envy*. But getting stuck in a linear game...and start thinking up alternate futile 'rocket science' solutions and going over the evidence in your head...is the beginning of a very long and boring story...unless it's one of the LucasArts adventure games like the Day of the Tentacle. Just started playing and finished Max Payne 2. In the final battle I was really confused. I saw how the grenades affected the environment and thought about using that to bring down the cage. Spend a long and futile hour to realize it just didn't work that way. If you haven't played it yet I am not sorry, if I saved you from a fruitless hour of complete boredom - it wasn't worth it. I remember a point in System Shock 2, where I was running low on ammo and had to deal with it somehow. I thought about lifts and pits and the lethal effect that these things can have on players and I was happily surprised to see that it worked on monsters too. Nice thing about games with limited resources are that they force you to use every tool to the maximum effect...and I am so grateful when it's supported. Not so great when an intellectual pursuit turns into a no-brainer...or it's the same number each time. F.x. in the System Shock games you got keypads and need codes...but why is it always the same code? Could have been so easy, in a computer game (nudge-nudge), to randomly generate a different number for each new game. Or in games like Deus Ex and Bloodlines, where you got a hacking skill, so that you don't actually have to read thru hints to figure out the needed code. Or one of those perks or traits in...is it Fallout...that colours your dialogue so that you know in advance what kind of response attitude you'll get. Not to mention those awfully cruel mean people that makes Walkthroughs with the malicious intent of ruining games for the weak of mind - they should be shot on sight. Not that these pursuit really requires any thinking, but it's steps in the wrong direction. Sorry about the long post, but I didn't have time to write a short one...
