  1. One of the things I loathed about the PC port of KotOR 1 was that the inventory system worked exactly like it did in the Xbox version - want to collect every weapon in the game, but don't want to dig through your inventory every time you want to equip something? Gotta open a container, put the item in, then open the container again to put the next item in, rinse, repeat, die of frustration. I don't see this as much of a potential problem in KotOR 2 though... since there are no containers in the ship.
  2. I still find it annoying that people blame developers for the publisher's decisions. LucasArts sets the release date and LucasArts are the ones who approve or deny major patches. I am rather disappointed that Obsidian pulled most of its team to work on NWN2 rather than have them spend the remaining two months to polish up the PC release though.
  3. Ah, but what does LucasArts care about people paying for Microsoft's Live service? I don't believe it was professional courtesy, since it's quite obvious they don't give a damn about other companies' concerns. "The game's not ready yet!" "Yeah, well it's Christmas. Ho ho f-ing ho."
  4. http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/star-wars-knights...2/585574p1.html I originally got this game for the Xbox and returned it after about two decent weeks of playing - I liked the game, and it was very addictive, but as everyone knows, buggy as hell. Of course, I returned it and used the money to preorder the PC version Reading about the bugs at the end of the article was rather disappointing, considering it sounds like new bugs have been introduced into the game. Are any former Xboxers disappointed as well? Not surprised at all? Any PCers who followed the Xbox tech help forum disappointed?
  5. Well, if you surrender to Revan, you only get half the exp you would for beating him.
  6. I read in an earlier post that if you die in the tomb and use the quickload (instead of going to the savegame menu and loading from there), it fails to reset some variables correctly and the doors will remain locked even after beating the fake Revan. Would this happen to be true in your case?
  7. I see that a lot of people mention the Matukai Apprentice Robes, but nobody mentions the Matukai Adept Robes; are the Adept versions that much harder to find? I found only two in my last playthrough.
  8. Ah, well, the reason I wondered about Dantooine is because you can just pop into the Enclave, lie to Jorran about clearing out the area to get the two parts from him, and then heading back to your ship to fight Visas for the second lightsaber (since she drops a working lightsaber instead of a lightsaber part if you have a complete lightsaber). Then you can go back into the Enclave to modify the salvager's will for a third lightsaber... But yeah, that does involve a lot of area hopping, which sucks considering the massive load times
  9. Doesn't Jorran on Dantooine sell you two lightsaber parts for a thousand credits once you save him from the Enclave sublevel (he mentions finding three items: a crystal and two lightsaber parts)? You can just lie to him about killing the creatures in the area if you want to go DS or clear a path if you want to go LS.
  10. The sad fact is unless there was an error in manufacturing, LucasArts has no reason to recall a product. Once they've shipped and sold the units, anything short of 100% of consumers returning the product would mean they lose money in a recall - and even if a majority of the consumers returned their copies the most LA would do is permit Obsidian to polish up the game and release a version 2, fully expecting most (if not all) of the consumers that returned the game will buy the new and improved version. Besides, for all the complaining we do in here, we probably make up for less than one percent of total copies sold, so LA is more than content to ignore our pleas.
  11. Nope, the (6*2)-8+9*1 equation worked for me and others just fine. The game's just glitchy that way.
  12. To clarify what I said: if you choose for Revan to be LS, then the holocron is instantly busted because it contains a message by DS Bastilla concerning BS Revan - which wouldn't make any sort of sense with a LS Revan running about.
  13. Stuff in the container is random. First time I played the game I got a solaris crystal. Last time I played the game I got a green crystal and a fencing emitter
  14. I managed to make two nice sabers for my Guardian/Weapon Master in my latest game: Main-hand lightsaber - Personal crystal (currently level 47): Attack +3, +6 Dexterity, +5 Strength, +7 Wisdom, Damage +5 - Ankarres Sapphire: +1 Dexterity, +2 Strength, Keen, Regeneration 2 - Pontite Lens: Attack +1, Damage +2d6 (Energy) - Expert Deflecter Emitter: Deflection +4, Defense 1 - Ultimate Diatium Energy Cell: Damage +5 (Energy) Off-hand lightsaber - Ankarres Sapphire: +1 Dexterity, +2 Strength, Keen, Regeneration 2 - Crystal, Kaiburr: +3 Constitution, +3 Wisdom, Regeneration 3 - Pontite Lens: Attack +1, Damage +2d6 (Energy) - Expert Deflecter Emitter: Deflection +4, Defense 1 - Ultimate Diatium Energy Cell: Damage +5 (Energy) I found my first Ankarres Sapphire in the Crystal Caves on Dantooine and the second one in the Royal Palace on Onderon. The Kaiburr Crystal was a drop I was lucky enough to get off one of the Sith Lords in Freedon Nadd's Tomb on Dxun. Everything else was made by Bao-Dur. Kinda wish I went DS so I could also use the crystal from the cantina on Onderon...
  15. Heh, yeah, everything after Nihilus felt rushed and incomplete. It's unfortunate, since the game would have been awesome given more time.
  16. Mira's Influence requirement is actually very, very low. You just need to start off by talking about why she never kills anyone, move on to the subject about the Jedi (which will piss her off to no end), then talk to her again and apologize to keep the conversation going. Finish up by talking about Hanharr and if she was raised on Nar Shadaar, then comment about her seeming restless (this is only available while on the Ebon Hawk), and that'll lead to offering to show her Nar Shadaar through the Force - after she accepts, just drag her out to the spot in front of the cantina.
  17. Try loading to before you enter the tomb, because that equation worked for me numerous times.
  18. It would be a shame if that were the case. Being able to apply your Wisdom modifier to your armor class is really handy for a Consular - or any other Jedi class, for that matter.
  19. Actually, as it turns out the containers in the game still produce items other than repair kits and medpacks at higher levels. I was fortunate enough to have picked up a Jedi robe before using this exploit early in the game - but you really need more Force point regenerating gear, otherwise you'll be waiting for a loooong time between fights. I had to wait 20 minutes between each fight as a LS Guardian.
  20. Er, right, the Red Eclipse. I don't know where Crimson Sun came from
  21. Actually, has any game ever been recalled? The most I've ever seen is a patch, and even then some publishers refuse to 'waste' any more time and money on a product that has been released *coughAtaricough*
  22. I've only played one female character so far, but I noticed that by the end of the game I didn't have the Battle Precognition ability like I did with some of my male characters. Did I just miss this, or do you get this ability from someone else? Disciple just lets me meditate, which is a rather lousy ability considering how fast Force points regenerate outside of combat anyway.
  23. Yeah, becoming her pimp and exorting the Crimson Sun slavers are two of the best perks for DS characters Although getting and installing the HK Pacifist Protocal Upgrade into HK-47 was a hilarious benefit for being LS with Greeda on Nar Shadaar :D
  24. If Revan was Dark Side, Bastilla isn't saved from her fall and joins Revan in Korriban, presumably to become the headmaster (since her room was the headmaster's room in KotOR 1) of the Sith Academy. Carth doesn't become Admiral because he plays no part in saving the Republic, so you see Admiral Cede instead during the logs and transmissions. If Revan was Light Side, Bastilla is saved from her fall, and the holocron in the sealed room is destroyed so you don't know who used their lightsaber to seal the door (Handmaiden points out the door was sealed with a lightsaber and Visas Marr mentions traces of a female Dark Jedi). Carth plays a part in saving the Republic so you see him instead of Admiral Cede during the logs and transmissions. If Revan was male, the message stored in T3-M4 is of Bastilla and you see her again during the Telos invasion. If Revan was female, the message stored in T3-M4 is of Carth and you don't see Bastilla during the Telos invasion.
