  1. I agree that the Influence system was rather cool, but definately limited in its perspective. Being able to lie to gain influence but no LS points would have been welcome, and it would have made the Persuade skill that much more amusing - especially if we could see the reactions when you're caught in the lie and you have to scramble to talk yourself out of the resulting mess. It would have been cool if what gains Influence with the characters changed depending on their alignment as well. I know you can gain Influence with a few of the characters with random acts of evil, but it would be nice to see that reflected in the conversation options as well (like if Bao Dur was DS, you'd lose Influence for trying to be nice to him, but gain Influence for being strict and acting like the General he keeps calling you).
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if the guide was wrong, since Prima tends to suck - I'd take a Brady Games guidebook over Prima any day.
  3. A valuable tactic is to run like hell. Really I played a Jedi Sentinel/Sith Lord and found their melee abilities suck, despite having 37 AC and +31 to hit. So all I can say is scream like a little girl and start pumping your legs until you've put a healthy bit of distance between you and Vrook, then turn around and zap him with a Force Storm or other offensive power. If you need a breather, try to break his line of sight to you, most of the time this will cause the AI to dribble some of its brains out of its slack-jawed mouth and give you enough time to heal, regenerate Force points, and have lunch - they won't even bother healing themselves.
  4. I've gotten the cyan crystal once during my second playthrough. Never saw it during my first and third playthrough though. Found two silver crystals third time through. I think the item randomizer only works when you enter an area, not when you open a container or corpse. Whenever I do the save/load before I open a container I always get the same thing, but when I load to before I enter the area I start seeing different items. Wish there was a way to cheat in the Xbox version like the PC version, I love collecting items, but the random item generation and long loading times is putting a real damper on my enthusiasm.
  5. You get a piddly amount of experience. I was around level 12 when I beat them and received 750 for my grief. The Mandalorian battle circle is much more generous Easiest way to beat the five sisters is to run to the far corner of the mat once combat starts (while staying as close to the edge as possible), with luck two or three of the sisters will run around their sisters and off the mat trying to get to you.
  6. You just need to raise your influence with them a bit more. For Bao Dur, after I exhausted all of my conversation options with him, I only needed to raise my influence with him two more times to complete his Jedi conversion. Atton's a bit more of a pain, since there seem to be few opportunities to please the ornery sod <_< I just murdered two or three people on Telos to raise my Influence with him.
  7. The Disciple starts off as a Soldier with something like 16 in Constitution, doesn't he? And he becomes a Guardian when you get him to become a Jedi, so he's a rather decent scrapper. As for the Sith tomb, my party consisted of Visas, Bao Dur, and Mandalore. I had Visas sneak up and use Bao Dur's corporate code to turn off the alarm, left the turret generator alone, and activated the 'Foothold' program - and sat back to watch the battle from a distance. By the time the turrets and droids were trashed, there were all of six (who were isolated in bite-sized roups of three) Sith soldiers and two Bomas left to deal with. You might wanna save before opening up the tomb doors though.
  8. From my experience, it would seem that the game generates all of the items in containers and enemies the moment you first enter a map. Only rewards (like lightsabers) are generated on demand. I tend to save before entering new areas and do a quick check of the containers to see what has been generated and reload if I don't like what I see - it may just be lously luck, but if the first few containers I come across have stuff like chemicals or parts, that tends to be what I find in all the other containers in that area. It sucks
  9. The computer is just there to tell you that there's another shuttle in the military base. When you enter the base, bash the force field and Bao-Dur will run up and reveal his unique ability to disable shield with a good bash.
  10. Dantooine (requires skills in Awareness, Computer, Repair, and Persuade): If you talk to the protocol droid on the landing pad, your character should recognize it's malfunctioning after a brief inquiry about the Enclave and the Sith wars. You proceed to tell it to perform a self diagnostic, repair it, then deny you're a Jedi when the old mechanic runs up to you all shocked and offended. Tell him you hate the Jedi as well and you gain Dark Side points. Simply talk to the protocol droid, ask about what destoryed the Enclave, and the buckethead will announce it has a memory leak again - allowing you to repeat the repair and deny process all over again. Be sure not to have your lightsaber equipped while doing this, otherwise you'll immediately be identified as a Jedi. Edit: This works for Light Side points as well, just tell the mechanic that 'Jedi protect the common people' instead. He leaves in a huff, but keeps coming back for more. Hope everyone can contribute to this post as well, I'm rather interested in what other 'beneficial' bugs have been encountered in the game.
  11. This really should be in the spoilers section. Just bring T3 up to the door and select the mine option in the options bar, you'll notice it says Plant Mine (Door) instead of the usual Plant Mine (Floor). The detonators are just grenades and aren't used in blowing locks. Alternately, you can blow up the broken astromech on the other side, but that'll destroy one of the containers. To do that, just access the storage room camera from the terminal on top of the ramp overlooking the hangar.
  12. Saves are organized by character so that you don't accidentally save over another character's progress. While loading or saving, hit 'X' to switch to the other character's savegames.
  13. The Peragus voice-print mission (requires 14 Int and decent persuasion): After you use the recorded voice-print code to open the airlock, you can run back to HK-50, trick him into repeating the code again, and run back to the console to find the option to enter the code available again. This is repeatable and every time you select the option to open the airlock, you gain 500 experience points. Item duping with the workbench: This is a rare glitch, as I've only been able to repeat it twice in about fifty attempts, but sometimes when you upgrade weapons the character wielding it will unequip it after you're done; the rare glitch is that if the character is dual-wielding weapons, there is a chance they will unequip the primary weapon that you're upgrading, but keep the secondary weapon equipped. The game, however, simultaneously unequips the secondary weapon along with the primary weapons, so the end result is you now have the secondary weapon in one hand, and a copy of it in the inventory. The game locked up sometime after the dupe (while it was trying to load a conversation on my return trip to Dxun), and while I'm not sure if it was the cause of the lockup, I wouldn't recommend trying it.
  14. There are three voice samples you have to collect: one from the security room's console, the second from the maintenance console, and the third from HK-50. If you have an Int of 14, you can trick HK-50 into repeating the code in the technician's voice. Or you can just smash the console to open up the airlock.
  15. You find the crystal in the cave on Dantooine, it's a tough fight getting to it though.
  16. I'm not really concerned about the money, it's just that once you stabalize a planet, Goto verbally confirms that you actually did your job; since I wasn't sure if what he said about Telos was confirmation, I used his payment (or lack thereof) as confirmation instead.
  17. I can't advance the plot in the game any further because I'm stuck trying to restabalize Telos' situation. I'm not sure if my quest broke or I'm just missing something painfully obvious. I cleared up Vogga the Hutt's freighter problems, which he confirmed when I asked him to start shipping fuel to Citadel Station, but in his reply he said something to the effect that I had to play the middleman because he doubted the officials would deal with a Hutt. I flew back to Telos, talked to the head of the Ithorians, Czerka, and the Captain, but there were no conversation options to strike a deal. I checked my journal, and in the completed missions tab there was an entry saying the Citadel Station now had fuel, but when I talk to Goto, he keeps telling me how important Telos is (and refuses to pay me. he already paid me for stabalizing the other two planets). Does anyone know what I'm missing? I'd hate to have to restart the game over this Edit: Oh, on Telos I completed all the quests to help out the Ithorians, the sting on the weapons smuggler, and cleaning out the Exchange.
