  1. I just made a list of all the games that interest me for each console. For the PS2, there are more than 50 games that I am interested in and it happens that I know where I can get thoses at a good price. On the other hand, the GC games that I like are very few but worth buying though. Those are FFChronicles, RE0, RE1 and RE4, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia, MGS1 Twin Snakes and some titles from the Mario, Sonic, Zelda and Metroid series. I guess I will pick a PS2, but if I manage to find a GC and those games for cheap, I am definitely buy it too. A friend of mine had bought a GC, with one controller, one memory card AND with RE0 and RE1. He only payed 50
  2. Why do you say that? I have read all the Drizzt novels and they weren't that bad. and Drizzt isn't THAT annoying, except that he is a munchkin character (I can't believe I just said that).
  3. I have been browsing every RPG sites and forums for months and apparently, nothing has been said so far. Actually, I am more interested to see if Atari will buy the Jefferson Code. I have sent many messages to Grok and it appears that Atari has tried to buy it from Interplay. The only problem was that Herve Caen was asking a lot of dough for it. Too bad...
  4. Well, I am not sure if I will even buy any of these consoles. It's just that I really want to play some of the games that you can't find on pc: RE Code Veronica, RE0, RE4, FFXII and some others. The advantage with the PS2 is that you can chip it in order to play copies. I don't know if there is such a thing for the gamecube.
  5. I didn't buy any of the new generation consoles as I waited for prices to drop. Now, I am considering buying one but I am not too sure about it. First of all, I can decide which console to pick: the PS2 or the Gamecube. Both have great games but that can only be found for the respective console. For example, the PS2 has some great jap RPGs (including the FF series) and some other games that you can't play on the gamecube. The latter shares some common games with PS2 (MGS, RE, etc) but has some titles that are unique such as RE0 (and I am considering buying the Mario, Sonic and Zelda Collector's editions -with all the old games from the series). I have heard that there is a chip allowing you to play GC games on your PS2, but that may be another one of those rumors. Anyway, I would appreciate it a lot if you could give me your opinion. Thanks in advance. Cheers.
  6. Despite the positive comments you may read on Obsidian website's front page, it seems that there are many negative comments about the game lately. I have been visiting rpgcodex.com for the last few weeks and I have noticed at least ten bad reviews about Kotor2. I just want to note that the reviews were made by other gaming site and not by rpgcodex. Since I haven't played the game can someone explain me why all this criticism on Obsidian's first game?
  7. The Jefferson Project was a d&d CRPG set in the Dalelands and was suposed to be called BG3. The Van Buren project was Fallout 3. The former interests me only and I don't think they are gonna have problems with Bethesda.
  8. You would have such a major joygasm that you would get things so messy and sticky around you and you know it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I won't even comment this. On a more serious note, since Atari was indeed interested in purchasing the Jefferson Code, I guess that there is still hope with the project's ressurection now that Interplay is dead.
  9. If Jefferson is ressurected, I will be the happiest man in the world.
  10. This auction at ebay is even funnier than the one in which some woman was selling her wedding ring! Actually, this one is totally hilarious: a guy is selling his father's ghost so that his kid won't be scared anymore in their home! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...5541542621&rd=1
  11. I will give up only if Feargus explicitely admits that he isn't interested in finishing the project.
  12. I have sent mails to many people (Grok, Sawyer, Feargus) asking them about the chances of being ressurected the jefferson project (aka BG3 which was being developed by BIS) has. From what they have answered, I guess that it's quite unprobable but I never lose hope. If they understand that jefferson is a potential blockbuster, I am sure that they will not think it twice before they start the project again. I believe that it is still possible to buy the jefferson code from Interplay (who is falling apart and desperately needs cash). Obsidian Entertainment is in the best position to complete this project as most of its employees have already worked on it in the past and are familiar with the game's engine. I believe they will have not trouble finishing the remaining work and changing the story to fit WotC's moral guidelines. I have already shared my idea with Feargus Urquhart and he was willing to complete the game. The only problem was that they did not have enough cash to buy the engine and the game's code. Unless the gains from their future games are not enough to cover this cost, I was wondering if Atari could buy this engine and then hire Obsidian to finish the project. I know this is complicated from a legal point of view but it is not impossible. Even if Obsidian manages to buy the engine, they will need the d&d licence from Atari. The game was highly anticipated by the public knowing that it came from a reliable game developer. The game was named "BG3", but I believe there is another project bearing this title. I do not think this poses a problem since Atari has the d&d licence and can give any title they want. I remember Feargus saying that he wished he could produce a game under the "Icewind Dale" brand. I think that it can be a good idea to publish Jefferson under the IWD logo, knowing that the brand is well-known by d&d gamers. If there are problems with connecting jefferson
  13. To the thread's question: "Yes, it will... it will die by my very own hands..."

Then you are sadly mistaken. Just to take one of your assertions, that ninjas practice all day long and make their livings with live performances: Hatsumi-soke, grandmaster of the Togakure Ryu, is a practicing bone doctor, former TV star, and accomplished painter. All of the members of the upper echelon of the ryu have occupations outside of nin-po; some work construction, some law, many work in the medical field. There are some students in Japan who do not currently have employment; however, these students are foreigners who have come over to study and who have been put up by members at their homes. Given giri, it is expected that the students will repay the debt (though it is rarely done as a monetary transaction; most families take offense at even the suggestion). Also, if your "sources" have no idea who the Togakure Ryu are, then I would definitely question their validity, as they are the largest nin-po school in Japan (based out of Iga) and are well-known by the Japanese. I am glad you added your piece of info about ninjas... I will keep it in mind for the future... When I said that they made live performances to earn their living, I never meant that this was their only source of income... They may have other jobs aside from this one but I just mentioned the one I knew... Taks: What they wear seems more like military boots to me... The problem is that they are dressed in black and that you can't easily distinguish what they are wearing. However, I am sure that the "ninja babe" (as they call her) is wearing boots...

You go first! The master has to show his students how to do it!

You quickly draw conclusions about other people's knowlegde about things. You don't know anything about me and you don't know anything about what I have seen, heard or read. I insist that my sources are reliable (they even come from japanese people). Besides, I have always been interested in Japan and its culture and have read with great interest anything that could give me info on it. I am not interested about ninjas just because they are cool and because they are great killers...

And that differs from "techniques that allow them to stand on the ceiling for a short period of time" how....? Common, man! Flying? Is that even possible? On the other hand, there must be a trick to stand on the ceiling... dunno, maybe they "nail" their weapons on it in order to stand... this beats me and I am not sure whether it's true or not even though my source is reliable (I had read it in an french magazine which had articles on cultural, social, and other type of issues - just like "Times").

I know it is... But I am afraid that in some parts of it, these guys are really serious...

Whatever... <_< These dudes even think that ninjas can fly... Someone should tell them that ninjas are not like superman... Again, if you watched the video, everyone in the streets is more or less afraid of them..

Besides those guys are so stupid that they think ninjas killed for pleasure... Moreover, they wear military boots while being dressed as ninjas! From what I know, everyone in Japan were wearing sandals (they even wear them today)...

As clearly evidenced by that website. I meant people that seriously trained as ninjas. These guys from the website are just some moronic californian adolescents that don't have anything better to do in their lives...

    Ninja site

Someone on these boards suggested me that site which is about ninjas. Its content is hilarious and has many erroneous statements about those experts in martial arts. However, what is really worth watching is the small video made by the site's owner. This guy is crazy! I had good fun with it, that is... http://www.realultimatepower.net/ Here is some REAL info about ninjas: I have read a bit about ninjas and they really existed. They served as scouts, spies or assassins in medieval Japan (7th century). There were two famous schools of ninja: the Iga and the Koga, which had a very precise hierarchy. The Jonin was the master ninja. The Genin was the Jonin's second hand and owed him absolute loyalty (he also was the only one to know his master's identity). Finaly, the Chunin was the ninja sent on commando missions. Female ninjas are called Kunoichi and were sent to spy or murder great japanese lords and were often pretending to be their mates in order to achieve their missions. I have more info about them but I can't type everything here. Also, ninjas still exist today. There are some people in Japan that devote their lives to the ways of the ninja and practice all day. They earn their living by giving live performances of their skills and they are really incredible. They know techniques that allow them to stand on the ceiling for a short period of time or that allow them to stop a man's heartbeat for a short period of time (of course they know how to reactivate the heartbeat).
  23. Yoohoo! You really saved me! But I would still like to get rid of that virus and I am afraid of letting it loose in my pc in order to fix it with my "Trojan Horse Remover". Do you know if it is safe to remove it from quarantine?
  24. I will be really grateful if someone could help me with this. I caught a virus last month on my pc ("Trojan Horse") and have put it on quarantine since then. It infected my notepad.exe file and since then I can't use my notepad files (which I have many). I have updated every month my Norton Antivirus program but it can't fix my file. I downloaded a Trojan Horse Remover program from the web but to deal with my infection, it requires to have closed my anti-virus program. I did whatever it asked me to do but the remover program couldn't have access to the infected file. I think this is because I have put the file in quarantine. Someone suggested me to release the file (meaning to remove it from quarantine) and to fix it with my remover program. The only thing is that I am afraid of infecting my whole pc if I release the contaminated file. Do you have any idea about what I should do, please? Thanks in advance! Cheers.
  25. I have been in Greece many times and I will get there next week but I can't say I have been satisfied with what I have seen in the past...
