  1. Because Epic does not even have a review option, they have literally nothing. It's a vanilla steam and it will takes years to come close to the features what steam allready has, if they even plan to implent them. And that's an excuse for infantile behavior? I think only being an infant is. Well maybe some of those people are infants after all... legally speaking, infants is those who ain't yet reached the age of majority. minor = infant. so infants is those who ain't yet 21... or 18. goes back to 15th century or so. converse, infant in original common usage woulda' referred to those too young to speak, which would necessarily preclude the offending behaviors identified in the thread. however, such observations leaves boeroer post unaffected from our pov. HA! Good Fun!
  2. no good reason to force yourself. there is a few shows where a first episode is so devoted to character intro and background exposition that it can be misleading bad. ain't the case with cowboy bebop. is a few humor-centric episodes, and a goodly number o' "wtf japan" episodes, but if first episode didn't do it for you, then smart thing to do is cut loses. HA! Good Fun! ps we did mention earlier how we dislike 'bout 1/2 o' cowboy bebop episodes, but keep in mind we loathe almost all anime, so is hardly surprising. episodes we genuine like is: 2, 5, 10, 16, 19, 25, 26, with 3, 8, and 22 being pretty good. episode 11 is kinda a ridiculous homage to alien with a few other sci-fi movie references thrown in in for good measure-- am liking the episode 'gainst our better judgement. anime humor tends to be a miss for us, but episode 17 got a few chuckles and our grudging approval. when rewatching the series, wouldn't bother watching any o' the others save for the ed intro episode and maybe the last faye-centric episode. but again, we dislike anime, so is probable dubious to use us as a reliable barometer.
  3. newest trumpism aside, am guessing we could squeeze a few more people into alaska, montana and the dakotas. is also worth noting how iron eyes cody were himself the son o' italian immigrants. HA! Good Fun!
  4. don't buy the offending product is so remote. some folks need the instant gratification which comes from being part o' an internet crusade. the mob gets their due by posting scathing reviews for the evil corporate suits' other products. is perfect rational, as long as one assumes such reviews will hurt the nogoodniks who is deserving punishment. you are correct that such thinking isn't particular reasonable, but looking for reasonableness from mobs, particular internet mobs where is no accountability, may be your mistake. HA! good Fun!
  5. we hear they tried to contract one o' the queen's dogs, but the pooch's list o' demands were prohibitive. wanted a nfl-quality misting system installed outside his trailer to relieve fatigue from filming under hot lights... as well as wagyu beef kibble inclusion in craft services spread, in addition to pay and accomodations for the dog's 'personal masseuse.' nevertheless, parties almost came to terms, but turns out the dog's masseuse were affiliated with orchids of asia. royals. what are you gonna do? HA! Good Fun!
  6. the problem you face is the volume o' statistics which indicate generational narcissism is indeed a factor in many o' the problems millennials is facing. we posted an article which included a few such statistics, and as we already noted, you may be overwhelmed, if you wish, by the statistics resulting from a comprehensive search for scholarly articles addressing, "millennials narcissistic personality disorder" (is probable a bad sign when the phenomenon has a label used by scholars) and/or "generation y narcissism." as we revealed earlier, statistics also show how the economic difficulties o' the great recession is also generational predictable, and hardly generational unique. is enough statistics to support whichever why you wish to believe. as such, am thinking anecdotal becomes a reasonable personal solution for severing the gordian knot. HA! Good Fun!
  7. am suspecting is sacrifice at the altar o' pragmatism. a corgi is inherent funny. https://www.facebook.com/9gag/videos/corgi-tragic-attempt-of-jumping-on-the-couch/916247615237645/ the thing is, am betting is much harder to get a funny corgi to take direction, particular if you anticipate an aggressive filming schedule. actor ein can't have a day-off when he would prefer to chase butterflies or his tail... more likely her tail as dog actors is often female... lassie being a notable exception. blame on hollywood sexism? HA! Good Fun!
  8. hypocrisy has always been a thing, but the popularity and reliance on false moral equivalence is kinda newish... or renewish. were a popular tactic o' the soviet when responding to criticisms to point out how the west also did bad stuff. hundreds and possibly thousands who criticize soviet leadership get sham trials and are summarily executed every year. soviet response: your evidence is circumstantial and blacks are still being lynched in the American south. is no surprise putin has been a big fan o' the tactic. whenever you listen to russia defenders, always look for the obvious whataboutism and the predictable deflection. is comic how predictable is putin and his defenders when responding to criticism. what is shocking is how such a transparent tactic has become de rigueur beyond russian borders. HA! Good Fun!
  9. trump can't drop out, 'cause that would make him a quitter and a loser. the president's world view couldn't handle such a fundamental shift. worse for republicans, even if trump did announce he weren't seeking reelection, 1/3rd o' republicans would still vote for him as a write-in candidate. it don't matter what trump says. president may opine how the sound from windmills causes cancer and his peeps either claim he is joking or they embrace the idiocy with full force. when he first started claiming windmills were evil, he said they decreased property values by 50% (no study backed anywhere near such numbers)... then 65%... and is now 75%. wait six months and trump will get windmill property value drops up to 110%, and folks will still believe him and/or refuse to contradict. trump announces he isn't running? many o' his supporters would insist he were joking, or that he meant something complete different from what he said. Cases of mass hysteria throughout history add trump following to the list. beyond baffling how it don't matter what trump says or even does. HA! Good Fun!
  10. am ez and boring insofar as chinese food. we always try shrimp filled wonton noodle soup to see if is like the stuff we had in hong kong. otherwise, am all 'bout the fun-- beef chow fun is our default choice. HA! Good Fun!
  11. have come to the realization it is possible to eat too much bacon. such a notion woulda' been considered sacrilegious by us 'til we began to reflect a bit. we got three mason jars for bacon grease. got an unmarked jar for the stuff we don't plan on cooking with at a later date... unless desperate. one is labeled applewood smoked. last is indicating _______ ranch dry cured, which is our gold standard bacon-- get it from a local guy who also provides us with eggs and infrequent with lamb and goat. all our jars is current topped off and it ain't as if we fail to use bacon grease often when we cook. maybe we need cut back a bit on bacon. dunno. is an alien concept, but will need give it some thought. ... am hearing duck bacon is an ok alternative, and lord knows we love our duck fat, particularly when cooking up potatoes. never tried duck bacon, but may give it a shot. HA! Good Fun!
  12. Top Marine General Let Emails Leak Amid Border Funding Fight so Service Families Would Not Be Forgotten: Sources "When asked why Neller would allow internal memorandums to leak to press outlets, one Defense Department source expressed bluntly, “Because he didn’t want the Marines and families at Camp Lejeune [in North Carolina] to get f***ed.”" so, does this story deserve a "qq" or a "squee"? am honest not certain how such stuff works. no doubt the candy arse marines just need to _ut up, yes? marine general wants the border crisis to continue? HA! Good Fun!
  13. spike spiegel is kinda a combo o' steve mcqueen and bruce lee, so sam cho is the first quy we thought of for casting choices. maybe not. jet is s'posed to be a world weary ex-cop too honest for his own good. we always got the impression he were s'posed to be late 40s, but turned out he were mid 30s, but in the anime universe, 35ish is ancient? jet reminded us a bit o' connery from outland. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8WBk6nrYC0 outland were a western but in space. borrowed heavily from high noon. cowboy bebop also borrowed heavily from american westerns. we got no problem with the mustafa shakir casting, but am hoping they don't use the character like danny glover's murtaugh from lethal weapon. in the anime, jet is sage advice and tending towards caution, while spike is young, brash and a martial arts whiz who is equal adept with firearms. real casting choice is who they get for abdul hakim, who is clear an homage to HA! Good Fun! ps am thinking we mentioned once or twice how we loathe most anime. fact is, we kinda dislike 'bout half o' cowboy bebop episodes too. however, is some excellent episodes as well. am modest curious 'bout the live-action.
  14. adam driver is one o' our favorite current actors. the thing is, before star wars, we hardly knew o' the guy, and we didn't particular like him in force awakens. thought he were fantastic in silence, logan lucky, blackkklansman, and were also good in midnight special and snl appearances. am remembering him from lincoln, but cast were overstuffed and he were hardly memorable. (aside: jared harris as grant were odd casting for us as harris kinda looks like gen. sherman irl) and were uninspired by the inside llewyn davis performance. never saw him in the hbo series. don't particular like kylo ren, but am kinda looking forward to anything not star wars which includes adam driver. add carol kane, buscemi, and old bill murray, and am much anticipating. if rza does chessboxing in movie, then that also would be worth watching. HA! Good Fun!
  15. am only mentioning our favorite tv episode 'cause, 1) am suspecting more than a few has never seen it, and 2) it is current available on Netflix... but for how long? 3) is kinda a cheat. season 5, episode 22 o' the twilight zone. sure, the production values is dated, but am thinking folks forget just how fantastic were the twilight zone, and an occurrence at owl creek bridge were a singular noteworthy episode for multiple reasons. rod serling intro Tonight, a presentation so special and unique that for the first time in the five years we've been presenting The Twilight Zone, we're offering a film shot in France by others. Winner of the Cannes Film Festival of 1962, as well as other international awards, here is a haunting study of the incredible from the past master of the incredible, Ambrose Bierce. Here is the French production of "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge." if you do not know the story by bierce, consider yourself lucky to have this opportunity. do not spoil. HA! Good Fun! ps if we had to make a top 20 list o' favorite tv episodes all-time, at least three is gonna be twilight zone.
  16. am thinking you has kinda lost track o' your original point... whatever it mighta' been. isn't some kinda american resistance to ambiguity... or is it? don't even know what you are trying to say. *chuckle* however, we couldn't help but chuckle at the john wayne bit. whenever a famous director mentions his favorite films, is anybody surprised to see the searchers listed? HA! Good Fun!
  17. Congrats, you found the joke am assuming such will be the joke, but as we said, seems unnecessary to do makeup. leave mr. pop as the one "zombie" without such is funny. why add the makeup? HA! Good Fun!
  18. am gonna quibble over designation o' "greatest cast o' zombies" appellation. these guys have stranglehold on quintessential zombie casting. that said, zombieland may be the only zombie movie we ever enjoyed, so resurrecting bill murray, as it were, and doing a humorous zombie film with folks such as carol kane, steve buscemi and adam driver is gonna get our attention. were it really necessary to do zombie makeup for iggy pop? didn't try to make bill murray look older after all. overkill? HA! Good Fun!
  19. we taught in europe for some time. there is a term o' art european and american academics use when an author fails to answer essential questions raised during course of the narrative: bad writing. chekov's gun, is not made better if is an essential plot point. nevertheless, is often arguable as to whether or not all essential plot points has been answered. ambiguous end, but does anything more need be said? am gonna leave popular horror aside as is a kinda trope to have an ambiguous ending in such films, yes? end scene often makes audience wonder if the evil were genuine put to rest. but it does make a bit difficult to analyze kubrick films as a few embrace horror elements. have the shining end ambiguous is a horror thing or a kubrick thing? 2001? but regardless, generalization 'bout lack o' appreciation for ambiguous endings would rule out americans liking almost all horror, yes? well, horror and kubrick. nevertheless, ambiguous conclusions in writing and film continue to be popular on both sides o' pond. you wanna deal with film, so we will leave aside serious catalog o' fiction... though stuff such as grapes of wrath obvious is gonna straddle media types. what happens to the joad family? don't know regardless if is film or novel. phillp k. **** is also gonna be problematic for your generalization given how popular a few films based on his books has been, and how filmmakers is running out o' phillip k. **** stories to transform. total recall (not our favorite) got a reboot 'cause it were so popular the first time. in addition to already mentioned, no country for old men, the graduate, taxi driver, inception, drive, black swan, memento, lost in translation, and birdman is a few off the films which did well in the US. ... am hoping point were made w/o needing to belabor. HA! Good Fun! ps akira is one o' those much overrated anime movies. ghost in the shell is less liked by critics, so we need not hate on it. grave of the fireflies and spirited away is gonna be only japanese anime on our list o' great movies. never understood the fascination. liked akira better when it were called godzilla. in fact, get rid o' anime films functional rehashing pinocchio, godzilla and buffy the vampire slayer (which admitted were simple a better version o' anime such as project a ko and similar tripe) and you got little to talk 'bout. pps is too bad the ballad of buster scruggs weren't a series as original intended, but the bounty hunter vignette, the finale, ends on an a decided ambiguous note. worth watching on netflix if you have not seen. some of the best tv programing we have enjoyed in a long time.
  20. as an aside, dwayne johnson is doing a john henry movie for netflix. john henry were always a favorite when we were a wee tyke, so is gonna be tough for netflix to do it justice. am not sure if the rock would be our first choice when casting, but am nevertheless looking forward to the release. HA! Good Fun!
  21. There Are 58 Versions of Little Red Riding Hood, Some 1,000 Years Older Than the Brothers Grimm’s every culture gots its folk tales and myths. the fact so many o' those tales survived and mixed in the americas is one reason gaiman is so fascinated with the american story warning: sweary ... is also likely why there is so many american folk tales (as amentep observes) and fantasy storytellers. and we wouldn't discount disney a disney film based on a book written by an american author. is more to disney than fluff. HA! Good Fun!
  22. am not sure this is the route you wanna take. after all, am thinking boeroer might be able to think o' a few historical german blunders (remote and proximate) which leaves americans at a loss... and we were in germany long before trump and obama. mostly munich, but we made it to berlin and a few other places. btw, hasselhoff had multiple top ten albums-- weren't a one-off. *shudder* HA! Good Fun!
  23. if it makes you feel better, the ends o' the maul narrative finally come together, and complete the circle. HA! Good Fun!
  24. HA! Good Fun!
  25. always felt mild uncomfortable in germany. sure, germans is generally dismissive o' americans, so may be difficult making meaningful connections w/o considerable effort, but after we came back to the states we had a kinda epiphany. reached #1 in germany. never charted in germany... as were the case with virtual all stevie wonder singles in the 60-70s. after coming to this realization, the cultural disconnect somehow all made sense to us. HA! Good Fun!
