  1. ... Depends on the size of Kum's spear ...
  2. Nothing, now. I was a world expert, before I got bored. Does she go all yogic on you? She is very kind and a joy to be around. *gasp* Where is your pocket protector?
  3. This whole article has the smell of a Republic mud-slinging campaign. I would be happier if I could buy some renewable energy production equipment, so that I am less reliant on the grid. (I can buy a wind turbine for about

Just finished Birthday Stories; there were one or two good pieces in there. Any males wanting to understand how women think, I recommend talking to intelligent (and trustworthy) women; failing that, you will get a good start by reading Andrea Lee, who wrote one of the stories in this anthology (The Birthday Present). I really enjoyed the first story, too. It was a good break from "real" reading, so now I shall re-commence with Camus' The Myth of Sisyphus, or The Art of War, and probably the latter as another novel would not be as fun unless as a change. I bought The Book of Five Rings (Miyamoto Musashi, translated by Thomas Cleary).

  6. Unfortunately this is not limited to Pakistani kite flyers.
  7. Hey, I see your next project!
  8. Not sure you can go below the hardware setting ... though I don't know for sure. You could always get a glare filter for your monitor.

Ah, so you descrive it, then, I descry. /caffawkle
  10. Just finished watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Director's extended version, back-to-back. I am so bored with the tv in this country.

I can't believe you managed to finish that book. It was far too far into the realm of fantasy for me. Tossed it after about fifty pages. Currently reading the Birthday Stories anthology (compiled by Murakami, and he wrote one of them, too). RE-reading it? Can't be that good, then.
  12. But the caption was wrong. The glass was half-full.
  13. I'm reminded of the management team of Marconi in the last few years, too: just because they have a Fortune 100 company started by a genius (the guy who invented radio!), doesn't mean that losing touch with the customer won't end the job of not just the employees, but the management team, as well. :D Volo, your little model of reality is incomplete, you have a line from the employee to the manager, but you are forgetting the line from the manager to the customer, who hires the manager through purchase of the product/service.
  14. Why do you have such a burning desire to "win"? Try to understand, rather than "win", because you might actually win then, too.
  15. Volo, you're trying to fit the world into an employee's perspective. Really, try to think outside your box. The owner doesn't have a "need/desire to deliver product/service", they have a "need/desire" to make a profit. I'm not so na

Not really: his wealth is at the expense of all the other people in the geographic area; he also disgusted me when he gave his son his weight in diamonds for his majority.
  17. Just don't mention the Tome of Unspeakable Sexual Gratification ... or whatever it's called.
  18. ... With virtual rewards!
  19. I feel a little guilty not finishing the first one, now. :"> Still, it wasn't because the module wasn't well balanced, well written and well paced ... I was just at the end of my module-playing time, as it was starting to be not as much fun as it was to begin with. Hmmm ... maybe I should restart it ... or load my old save game (I had just ). Anyway, it was a brilliant mod. Well done. You may even succeed in enticing me to re-install NwN to play the sequel ...

You should review it ("Be the first person to review this item.")! It's always interesting to see the microcosms of society echo the human opera; in fact it's almost necessary to experience them this way, lest we be swamped by too much information and miss a lot of what's going on.
  22. My yoga teacher is my friend. :D
  23. I just want a good dictionary. And I guess I should clear off my living room table and do some more latin practice, too, so that I can move onto reading the vulgate and maybe some Cicero, perhaps even Virgil's

Time for another look into the library habits of the forumites. Here is my reading list from the last month or so (I was finally overcome with annoyance at not reading a lot of the books I wanted to, and also I wanted to finish off some of the ones that I have been sitting on for a while; reading at night before bed is a poor time to do so: much better now I spend some time during the day dedicated to reading): Why I Am So Wise [Ecce Homo and Twilight of the Idols] (Friedrich Nietzsche) Imagining the Tenth Dimension (Rob Bryanton) On Liberty and The Subjection of Women (John Stuart Mill) The Symbolic Species: The Co-evolution of Language and the Human Brain (Terrence Deacon) The Spartans (Paul Cartledge) the Symposium (Plato reciting Socrates, et alia) The Social Contract (Jean-Jacques Rousseau) Of Man (Leviathan) (Thomas Hobbes) On the Nature of War (Carl von Clausewitz) The Glass Bead Game (Hermann Hesse) An Attack on an Enemy of Freedom (Cicero) Thomas Paine's The Rights of Man (Christopher Hitchens) On the Suffering of the World (Arthur Schopenhauer) Crime and Punishment (Fyodor Dostoevsky) Communist Manifesto (Marx and Engels) Common Sense (Thomas Paine) What If Our World Is Their Heaven? (Philip Kindred Dιck) What's everyone else been reading, I wonder.
