  1. I'm just downloading it, too ... "
  2. Dystopia is a Cyberpunk Half-Life 2 mod. It is a modification set to a future battle between Punk Mercenaries (Punks) and Corporate Security Forces (Corps).
  3. Do we get to choose if we are the hacking XBox 360, or do we automatically take the role of the slasher PS3 in the fight to the death? Will the fate of all PS3s and Xbox 360s hang in the balance until the fight is concluded? What weapons does a next-gen console use: smoke and mirrors? "
  4. You realise that even supposing the minuscule chance that your path might have crossed that of Ms Beckinsale, your behaviour will only serve to ensure that she runs as fast as possible away from you, don't you?
  5. I think there are lots of desert islands that could be used for exiling such animals, too.
  6. Asimov did it better about forty years ago, when he was explaining why it didn't matter whether we use meters or miles.
  7. ... Depends on the size of Kum's spear ...
  8. Nothing, now. I was a world expert, before I got bored. Does she go all yogic on you? She is very kind and a joy to be around. *gasp* Where is your pocket protector?
  9. This whole article has the smell of a Republic mud-slinging campaign. I would be happier if I could buy some renewable energy production equipment, so that I am less reliant on the grid. (I can buy a wind turbine for about
  10. Just finished Birthday Stories; there were one or two good pieces in there. Any males wanting to understand how women think, I recommend talking to intelligent (and trustworthy) women; failing that, you will get a good start by reading Andrea Lee, who wrote one of the stories in this anthology (The Birthday Present). I really enjoyed the first story, too. It was a good break from "real" reading, so now I shall re-commence with Camus' The Myth of Sisyphus, or The Art of War, and probably the latter as another novel would not be as fun unless as a change. I bought The Book of Five Rings (Miyamoto Musashi, translated by Thomas Cleary).
  11. A Swedish soup nazi!
  12. Unfortunately this is not limited to Pakistani kite flyers.
  13. Hey, I see your next project!
  14. Not sure you can go below the hardware setting ... though I don't know for sure. You could always get a glare filter for your monitor.
  15. Ah, so you descrive it, then, I descry. /caffawkle
  16. Just finished watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Director's extended version, back-to-back. I am so bored with the tv in this country.
  17. I can't believe you managed to finish that book. It was far too far into the realm of fantasy for me. Tossed it after about fifty pages. Currently reading the Birthday Stories anthology (compiled by Murakami, and he wrote one of them, too). RE-reading it? Can't be that good, then.
  18. But the caption was wrong. The glass was half-full.
  19. I'm reminded of the management team of Marconi in the last few years, too: just because they have a Fortune 100 company started by a genius (the guy who invented radio!), doesn't mean that losing touch with the customer won't end the job of not just the employees, but the management team, as well. :D Volo, your little model of reality is incomplete, you have a line from the employee to the manager, but you are forgetting the line from the manager to the customer, who hires the manager through purchase of the product/service.
  20. Why do you have such a burning desire to "win"? Try to understand, rather than "win", because you might actually win then, too.
  21. Volo, you're trying to fit the world into an employee's perspective. Really, try to think outside your box. The owner doesn't have a "need/desire to deliver product/service", they have a "need/desire" to make a profit. I'm not so na
  22. Not really: his wealth is at the expense of all the other people in the geographic area; he also disgusted me when he gave his son his weight in diamonds for his majority.
  23. Just don't mention the Tome of Unspeakable Sexual Gratification ... or whatever it's called.
  24. ... With virtual rewards!
