  1. What? you are you saying that I'm Christ or something? (that's my name your messing with you know) Only the tr00 Messiah denies his divinity!
  2. It's hard to tell (further to Gfted1's comments), I initially thought the carrier was stern-towards, but it does seem to be a bow ... Here are some historical carriers (4 US Navy carriers right after the war), showing the size and length difference between an early battlecruiser conversion, the Saratoga (bottom), an early fleet carrier Enterprise (2nd from bottom), a war time built Essex-class carrier (2nd from top, the Hornet) and a light carrier based on a cruiser hull, the San Jacinto (top):
  3. Hey, neat. I might re-install KotOR again soon ...
  4. It comes from not understanding history ... say, when people don't read books written before they were born ...
  5. I read a book recently (Imagining Imaginary Numbers) wherein the author claimed that "imagining" was almost outlawed in (he said Texan, but I would more believe the mid-West) schools, and certainly self-censored OUT of text books, because the word "imagine" was too close to "magic" and therefore ANTI-KRISTIAN!!2!!1
  6. And the British have a reputation for poor food. "
  7. Yeah, I'm not looking forward to trying to remember all the names of the satellites: there are over 60, IIRC. Here is a recent picture of the Plutonian system: clickie! Also, new trans-Neptunian dwarf-planetoidy-type-thinggie (aka cubewano):
  8. Don't forget all the Xs: the ATi 29999X9XX9999XXXX9999X9x9x9x9x9x9xxx9x9x9xxx!
  9. ab abusu ad usum non valet consequentia, or (more specifically): Also, back on topic. Is the armour degradation on a sliding scale? Can it be adjusted, or is it just modded off (so far)?
  10. Hey, that looks pretty good.
  11. My textbooks just turned up. Lots of pretty pictures of the Mars canyon system, and Jovian and Saturnian satellites ..!
  12. I would seriously start some modding; pick a game with a big fanbase (it doesn't matter which, really): NwN, NwN2, Oblivion, Unreal, or even Quake. Firstly, this will give you experience designing games (level design, pacing, etc) as well as some experience working with game tools. It would be a good idea to try to team up with some other like-mindeds, and produce a whole module (the NwN community is an excellent arena for this, providing good feedback, as well). There are a zillion skills to learn and the best (only?) way to learn them is to start doing. This is what will be of interest to prospective employers, from this part of your commercial experience (i.e. whilst you work and study). At least according to the information that developers have posted on this site. Also, don't tell anyone about being a kiwi, because everyone thinks they are three-and-a-half feet tall and have hairy feet. "
  13. Quod Erat Faciendum Hey, I'm up for a latin reading circle.
  14. As long as it's turn-based, and isometric, then it's Fallout in spirit only.
  15. http://blizzard.com/ Check it today, the 15th, and don't say I never gave you nothin'. I see why the Goth sub-community might like this game.
  16. What about Red Son? (And Superman can be American, though he wouldn't be allowed to be President. Governor of California is okay, though.)
  17. Heh, reminds me of the first place I stayed when I first moved to Sydney (more as an expeditionary beachhead effort, before the main relocation); I was given a room (in the seven bedroom house) in which mushrooms were growing (out of the wall, not as some sort of botanical adjunct to the house food reserves). Primary cause was a leak from one of the many bathrooms, located above. I didn't stay there very long.
  18. Now that is the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day.
  19. There's probably a mod out there that does it ...
  20. Sounds like a corrupted save game, which can only be corrected by avoiding it ... by using an older save. Also, this is better in the Junkyard ...
  21. The point is that, although Blizzard don't invent genres, they make the defining game for the genre. And they seem to have tapped into a demand. With a bit of luck they will create a popular, critically acclaimed game (that I like... " )
