  1. I think the Krook-meister is aiming for a Hockey scholarship, anyway, so the literacy requirement will be quite lenient, presumably ...
  2. Already done.
  3. The CD (DVD) is always D:\ ... just like the second floppy is always B:\.
  4. I agree with what you say, but I would also point out that the same conditions affect the different classes differently. The fighter classes tend to be able to go longer without rest, for example, as their defensive qualities (hit points and Armour Class) are superior, and offensive capabilities are not rest-limited, like a spell-caster. Sure. And if you think that the difficulty sliders should have better AI control, I agree. But I'm certainly not underestimating the capabilities of the truly average player. Normal difficulty, especially at the earliest stage of the game, should be very easy-going. I... uh... have no disagreement with any of this. Still, I do have a reputation to maintain, so rabble rabble. Grimace ... is that you?
  5. There's probably a few older franchises that might be in this category. Utlima ][ was better than the first, SpaceQuest probably had a better sequel than the first game, same with the graphical (total copy) remake of the text adventure that was called Leisure Suit Larry.
  6. Exactly. (To be clear, what I meant by "diary icons" is just non-critical content, such as custom side quests that result in token rewards.) The type of player you are referring to would not be interested in creating trivial custom content for others, merely killing things for ph4t 1ew7.
  7. Dang those monuments!
  8. I see my sarcasm avoided your detector.
  9. It's more a philosophy than a religion. I think I shall choose to be offended by the implicit insinuation that my posts aren't normally informative and contain nice gestures. Oh, except I will forgive you because it's Buddha's birthday.
  10. Isn't this his wife's parents, too? Yes. I shouldn't type after 26 hours without sleep. It makes sense, because the subject was the wife's sister ... I was just being pedantic. You can get a personal shopper to handle it all for you ...
  11. Parental Guidance recommended.
  12. I agree. Saving the game when you need to save is far better than saving points. It really irks me if I have to re-play some parts all over again just because there wasn
  13. I'm not following your logic. If certain players group together (as they do now), then what harm could be done if they had some of their own special (non-magic) items. More like "diary icons" than weapons, if you follow my meaning.
  14. And thus, the third sign of the apocalypse ...
  15. I can't wait for the bees.
  16. I read an article in the Sunday Times a few years ago (still have it here, somewhere) about how Margaret Thatcher called up the French President and demanded the deactivation codes for the French arms sold to the Argentines ... otherwise she would use nuclear weapons. :D
  17. Isn't this his wife's parents, too?
  18. I just took my friend through the first four (Director's Cuts) Star Trek films; it's a long story, but the short version is I wanted to show her David Caruso's acting inspiration: William Shatner. Having promised some over-the-top, stentorian staccato deliveries, I must say Shatner's acting wasn't as totally ham as it was in the series (which has been replaying here in Britain). I don't know if I'll ever watch them again.
  19. Certainly an elephant gun wouldn't be out of place.
  20. CGI monkeys FTW
  21. Yeah, hence my analogy with both Christmas (celebration of the birth of Christ). It's more about controlling desire, rather than destroying it, as far as I am aware. Personally, I'm all for any philosophy of peaceful coexistence.
  22. Maybe some of the more absolutists need a bit of relativistic guidance ... Congratulations (really?) to Rosbjerg is extended from all the modsqaud, and (as during selected representative) from the whole Obsidian forum community.
  23. While I think it would be nice (and the benefits are self-evident) to have convictions graded for confidence, judging by the parlous state of the legal system as it stands, I doubt this is a realistic and attainable goal, at least in the short term. Whilst the legal system is subject to ludicrous abuse by the most wealthy, for one, it is only ever going to be a way of removing the poorest convicts. Then again, at least a rich person has more to lose, and might not be so willing to commit said heinous crimes in the future ... a sort of de facto disincentive to recidivism ... although the richest are always going to be above the law.
  24. Dreadnought or super-dreadnought class? (There's about 10-20% extra tonnage in the super class, which is a couple of extra Jaegers ...)
