  1. Well, looks like this topic has run it's course ... bloody commies ...
  2. He wasn't okay because he was in the HY, but despite it. ALL boys were mandated to join.
  3. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What is wrong with turned based combat? It worked wonderfully in the Fallout games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is nothing wrong with it, per se; it's just that you cannot add "turn based" to an engine: everything has to be re-defined in the turn-based method. Non-trivial. And the continuing fascist opinion that "if it's not turn-based, it's not Fallout".
  4. For those that know, no explanation is necessary. For those that don't, no explanation is possible. Really, some of the professionals do upwards of 4000 jumps. Do you think they are all vomiting as they jump out of the plane?
  5. AppleDOS FTW!
  6. It's not for everyone. I can vouch, though, that it takes any other experience and pats it condescendingly on the head and puts it to bed early after some warm milk and cookies. Gliding serenly in the quietude of the parachute is almost as wonderful and awe-inspiring as terminal veocity is a fabulous mouthful of adrenaline.
  7. Don't LIE! You went out and bought three copies and played them all, hoping against hope that the game would get better and beat the expectations! And then you played through AGAIN, just to make sure!
  8. Until I change the world, I must keep underscoring glaring inconsistencies (or should that be incongruities ") ...
  9. I can thoroughly recommend sky-diving, too.
  10. No, geeks performing erotic fantasies ...
  11. Actually, it's a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away ^_^ (presumably also a parallel dimension where the laws of physics are suspended and the bollocks laws of Space Opera rule supreme).
  12. My high-school German teacher wasw in the HY. Used to wear those little shorts (lederhosen) and long socks, too ... but he was okay.
  13. Well, they do try to use science to create the illusion of SF in ST. A discontinuity is what Jimmy was talking about, where there is no value on a graph at a particular point.
  14. Well, looks like this topic has a surfeit of sand.
  15. Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead.
  16. That's some crystal ball you've got there ... As Alienware are one of nVIDIA's strategic partners for SLI-on-a-chip and the consequent dual-card, quad-SLI machines, I would be a little less sombre. After all, Saab is owned by General Motors, Jaguar by Ford, Mercedes by Chrysler, etc etc.
  17. ... Of course, because in the US a film/game may have someone walk up to another person and rip their eyes out and bathe in and drink their blood, but if they show someone's genitalia, then it's X-rated.
  18. Gears of War for X360, the sequal for PS2 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Considering the last PS game I played was for the PSone, you're sarcasm fails to penetrate: my wings are like a shield of steel!
  19. I can't believe you played it.
  20. Discontinuity in the space-time reality complex?
  21. Only if we can believe you aren't making them up ...
