  1. I suspect this will be my perspective as well. The game is not to my RPG tastes anymore, but because of my love of DA:O and of the franchise overall (which is to say, the setting and its lore), I will view Veilguard as my fond (but also sad) farewell to the franchise.
  2. Yes, thank you, @Azdeus. And @Mamoulian War, I'm with you. I was already pretty angry with Owlcat over their throwing us RTwP fans under the bus, and how they've treated their KS backers who had paid for physical goods. But this is over the top.
  3. I had not heard this. Interesting. Yes, but in that interview we're told Owlcat would prefer Pf 2e if they ever return to making Pathfinder games. No, these are games they're making themselves. They even talk about how they're using (continuing to use) Unity for one game, but have switched to Unreal for the other games. There is one historical RPG that has already been revealed for which they're the publisher. But these games they're talking about here are all games that have yet to be revealed (though I suspect that the Unity game is the one the furthest along, and likely a sequel to Rogue Trader). Also interesting was that they seem to confirm that none of these games are their own IP (even though they say they'd like to create their own IP). So these are all cRPGs using existing IPs. Maybe one of them is a D&D game?
  4. I was rather surprised to hear here that (a) Owlcat is working on several (possibly as many as four) new cRPGs, and (b) none of them are Pathfinder games.
  5. Agree 1000%! What an incredible feat of engineering!
  6. I thought going gold meant preorders for the game had crossed 1 million.
  7. I would definitely agree with this, and I don't pay any attention at all to so-called pro reviewers or streamers. However, unfortunately, I now feel that in today's society most ordinary people reviewers (in all media, so also TV shows, movies, restaurants, etc.) engage in unfair reviewing, icluding review bombing, as a way of making themselves feel important and relevant.
  8. Well, sorry but for me your first look is how it looks, period. It just looks really bad, and that it is turn-based means I'll pass on it. A TB-combat game has a higher threshold that it needs to clear for me to have any interest in it.
  9. To me that's a sign they must be doing something really good. I have zero respect or consideration for Steam reviewers. In fact, I wish Steam would allow me to turn off/hide the reviewer ratings for games.
  10. I'll prolly wait a bit to pick it up, but this game is intriguing (released today):
  11. Thanks for this. I have that mod downloaded but have never played it, for exactly the reason you mention, that melee combat seems to be very problematic in the game. And for me, I almost exclusively prefer to play melee.
  12. Hey, I myself am quite okay with Putin starting a war with us or NATO, as I've said previously. Not because I want a war by any stretch, but because I am someone who believes that sometimes war is sadly necessary to stand/push back against a greater evil. I was merely surprised this story had not come up for discussion here. But I've enjoyed reading through all of your responses so far.
  13. Seriously? No one's brought this up today?! https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/putin-says-west-will-be-fighting-directly-with-russia-if-it-lets-kyiv-use-long-2024-09-12/
  14. Yeah, GreedFall2 is on my Steam wishlist, though I'll have to wait until it is out of EA to get it. I also now have GF1 on my wishlist; waiting for good sale price for that.
  15. Which is why I'm so happy they included a third person option.
  16. I just completed playing the SoD expansion for BG1ee for the very first time. It was weaksausce and rather lame, especially when in comparison with ToB as the equivalent expansion to BG2. The NPCs were all forgettable, and the multiple times Charname gets screwed over by people who are supposedly his friends/supporters got tiresome real quick. And the huge castle battle was a giant pain in the ass with no fun redeeming value. Beamdog truly sucks. I'm so very glad their Ps:T successor game got canned.
  17. Whereas adding a mere three mods to my current BG2ee playthrough was too much of a chore and a pain for me.
  18. Looks like the very definition of overkill
  19. Nice! I recorded from BBC America an ABBA docu-concert some months ago. Maybe it's the same one. I also recorded from a PBS broadcast a couple of days ago Fleetwood Mac's "The Dance" reunion concert from 1997.
  20. This in Foreign Affairs today: Ukraine on the Offensive: How Kyiv’s Attack on Russia—and Successful Defense of Its Northern Flank—Has Changed the War
  21. I like this game, including how it looks. The graphics look very nice to me, way more attractive than BG3's graphics. And I especially like that the Rook shown in this trailer could easily pass for a South Asian man. About time I had that choice of look for my PC in an RPG!
