  1. Oh. Apparently, Rib Smasher is confirmed to be making a return in NX2 :D
  2. Moar details about the overland map. Quote taken from RPGCodex which in turn took it from Something Awful: This pretty much changes the entire outlook of how Neverwinter Nights is played IMO. Hopefully it gets implemented well with its deserved tuning and polishing.
  3. All the mentionings of caravans. Makes me wonder if we will ever get ridable/humpable horses finally?
  4. I hope its just a level 15 epic at most. Otherwise, jumping to over 20 in a span of 15 hour gameplay feels so . . . I dunno. Rushed?
  5. Hopefully there will be higher production values for the expansion. That means if possible at all, there will be full voice overs for NPCs and narrations. Bah. I got spoiled by Mass Effect's production quality.
  6. New info. about the party system in NX2: So it sounds to be more along the lines of Wizardry 8 party system where you create six characters with selections of preset personalities and you recruit 2 NPCs from the campaign. Though for Neverwinter nights 2 engine, the party numbers I suspect should be smaller than Wizardry's or Icewind Dale's. ==Edit== Nguh! StarWars got to me first.
  7. New races. Hrm. I kind of thought they managed to cover all of the races in NX1, commonly played ones at least. But again I'm a D&D nub.
  8. Ooooh. According to Nathaniel Chapman, there's even going to be more uses of more alignment, skill, class and race based dialog options than in previous titles.
  9. Well, hopefully there's tonnes of replay value for the game to make up for the 15 hour length. It sounds promising if the features that seems dynamic will indeed have significant impact in the overall gameplay. Hopefully there's lots of game endings for this sort of focus efforts gone through for XP2 that is not only fitting for the nature of gameplay, but encourages replay value as well. And oh yes Xard, I share your EPIC GARness too! WOOOOOOOOO! WHOAAAAAAAH! ROAAAAAAAR!
  10. I just creamed my pants with this news! That's what I get for being overly too cynical that there will be never ever an NX2. I express deep apologies to the Obsidian team seeing I owe them one. So some interesting points: -Full party creation (Back to the roots of Icewind Dale?) -Overland travelling system (Fallout world exploration system?) -Party members starts from level 1(?) -An economy focused campaign -Streamlined party conversations, not sure what does this mean or do at all. As for being a 15 hours campaign, I feel disappointed myself of its length. I was hoping for a twenty five actually for an expansion. Kevin Saunders is definitely the lead designer for this project once again, I wonder who is the Creative Lead though after George Ziets left?
  11. Problem is Tale, its more than just the name "Macross". It involves the mech designs as well, the insignia of the UN Spacy, the Valkries itself and some what other kind of details I'm not even aware of. Otherwise you would have already seen Macross superior model kits from Bandai instead of from Harmony Gold in the states. In addition if the problem is as simple as you mentioned, Macross Zero would had already got to the state side a long long time ago and considering the extreme popularity of Frontier in Japan right now, like many other series, Bandai would had already licensed it by now.
  12. To be honest, I'm already tired and bored of FPS games. It seems so generic nowadays. With my present FPS love dedicated to Team Fortress 2 at the present, I don't see any good FPS games within my radar's range for now as well as in the near future.
  13. I guess that goes along the lines of Metal Gear Solid's exagarrated characters. Though I hope Obsidian would put restraint on the exagerration unlike Kojima which can go beyond exagerrate to simply bizaare and out of the world.
  14. That's true that Kaidan isn't a cry-baby, but unfortunately the VA's first impression embedded into me will remain as such for a long time. Guess making a good first impression is very important huh. Regardless, I still find Kaidan annoying(Maybe because I am a male playing a female PC) for hitting my char with his dongles communicating instead of his heart or head. The only NPC I do not mind hitting on any of my female chica would be Atton Rand. Perhaps I enjoy Atton's wry and wittiness in communicating as well as using subtlety to convey his emotions unlike an overly blunt Kaidan.
  15. Liara, the Asari: Your Psychic team member (The blue girl with a squid like head) Ashley, the Soldier poet: Thread softly and carry a big gun member (The girl in white armor in the ME promotion poster) Wrex, the mercenary: Throttle on loudly and carry a bigger gun member (Big hunchback alien) Garrus, the Agent: Your team's sniper and electronic support unit (The reptile alien with a targetting visor over his left eye) Tali, the walking suit: Your team's electronic engineer genius. (An alien female who always wear an environmental suit. You cannot see her face clearly) Kaidan, the whiny Carth wannabe: Your team's support unit in using a mix of electronic and psychic warfare. (Your typical crybaby Carth)
  16. Pray Harmony Gold goes bankrupt and Carl Mack dies of heart attack at the same time if you ever want to see Frontier brought over to the States. Maybe twenty years later when there are no longer Robotech fans. I guess you are new to the series. Macross is not like Gundam. There are no politics BS involved in the show, no forced philosophical lecture about war and no super robots that could perform laser spams to kill off a horde of enemies(Yes, I'm talking about you Kira Yamato). It is also the first anime series I believe that popularizes mecha transformation way before gundam(Zeta Gundam). Macross is a series that tells the power of love songs. Heck, the first Space War that prevented the extinction of mankind was won by singing! What makes up the Macross Franchise: -Love triangle -Music -Music idols -Itano Circus There's nothing Gundam'ish about it.
  17. I suggest getting Mass Effect if your rig could run it. Despite the storyline giving too much vibe of Bioware's KOTOR and save the world plot, it does provide good RP moments in the game and at times, forces you to make difficult decisions. Also like Neverwinter Nights 2, ME utilizes character background(You pick one out of 3) integrated into the plot and I feel its executed far more nicely than NWN2's with reference of your chosen background constantly being brought up in your interactions with other NPCs. I'll simply quote MCA's blog regarding of ME: http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?au...p;showentry=115 In addition according to Bioware, Mass Effect 2 will accept character save import from ME1 with decisions made in the first game that will bring influence to the next second and third game in the ME trilogy. In short, Mass Effect is a good game overall that Obsidian should take pointers from in their Alpha Protocol. Its been a while I played and completed a game three times consecutively due to its replay value.
  18. After playing both male and female Shephard, I concluded that I very much prefer the female version. The VA behind her seems to be far more capable in delivering the lines with range of appropriate and desired emotions: Aggressive, sarcastic and even solemn when speaking sensitive topics with the crew, providing the needed big Sister vibe in the family. The male Shepherd VA on the other hand sounded robotic most of the time. Though the only reason that is annoying playing as a female in ME is Kaidan. Ugh. I don't know why this NPC makes me want to fill his mouth with plasma cap. Maybe its because he gives a non-subtle hint that its his dongles in his pants speaking to my character instead of his heart when hitting on my chica.
  19. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_pos...of_Barack_Obama And you can find here too http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ , which had been there for a long while. I'm always shaking my head whenever people claims Barack did not go into details when his website has the specifics of it.
  20. Ironically, the Raiden in the Japanese version of MGS 2 comes across more manly. The reason? Voice acting makes a whole lot of difference.
  21. Easy. Use cheatcodes, gamesharks and trainers even. That's considered as the other choice right?
  22. I agree with some posts that the graphics is looking a little too clean. Uncharted gets way with it because the the gameplay is set in a flora setting with a good mix of water and stone structures. That means it could avoid creating places that is too focused on one set of colors. Perhaps using optimised grain filter similar to Mass Effect and other similar games would make the game more grittier looking.
  23. After playing Obsidian's good story RPG games, I'm resisting the urge to buy M.E straight away as its from Bioware. We'll see though since lately there's been a drought for RPG games and I might give in into an unexpected urge. In addition, its a concern that according to Kotaku M.E for PC requires an uber computerwith mighty specs to run nicely.
  24. The last game I played that took 45 min or longer to defeat a boss was Chrono Trigger. Magus himself took 1.5 hours to kill. That's what I get for playing a Japanese RPG game without grinding levels.
