  1. W.C. must be a real, real hardcore turnbased strategy game player
  2. Lords of Midnight, Doomdarks revenge, Heroes of Might and Magic 3 & Disciples 2 for sheer entertainment value. If you want more "serious" turn based strategy (i.e. simulation), I haven't found anything that beats Pacific War & War in Russia, both available as freeware downloads from the publishers homepage (Matrix games).
  3. That sums it up pretty neatly. If the release day (xmas) was the originally scheduled one, then somebody didn't take the fans or their IP very seriously. If it was moved forward from some unknow date, then somebody was in dire need of some income on their 2004 FY statement. If it was time taken out of the schedule to make marketing appearances at E3, then shame on everybody. Could it really have been that necessary ? Six more months in the oven would have made a lot of difference for certain aspects of the game, not at least the QA and polish
  4. 1) What is G4 ? 2) Why should I care about their awards ? 3) No 4) If I had voted, it would be a toss up between K2 and VMBL
  5. A good RTS is an oxymoron Age of Empires was probably somewhat tolerable though.
  6. Current games in progress... Pirates! and Baldurs Gate 1 (+Tales of The Swordcoast) After that ? I'll continue my BG1 character in BG2. Once I get bored with Pirates! (which is unlikely in the near future) I'll probably pick up either Kotor2 or VMBL again.
  7. Voted "Other" for lack of a "None" option " I hate the things, had an old model some years ago and got rid of it. Kept intruding in your privacy and made you available to people all the time, whether you wanted to or not. Now, I'm happily without and people can book a time if they want to talk to me
  8. Heh, Pazaak was the only mini game I could be bothered to play and actually enjoy in either game. The special cards in K2 were a nice touch
  9. I'm probably biased because I saw them in their "original" releases at a time where there was little competition for Star Wars. So my list would be a toss up between the original Star Wars movie and The Empire Strikes Back. TESB got my vote. Return of the Jedi was a big disappointment and from there, it went downhill. The new trilogy were crap from beginning to end. Almost as if Lucas was doing some kind of sociological experiment to see how far he could go in his excesses of crappiness and people still going to the movies.

    Resarch...

I can verify that one from personal experience Feels like getting nails hammered into the back of your head and neck
  11. I would probably bring a girlfriend, but you know - whatever floats your boat. ^_^ 20 years later, I still love Doomdarks Revenge :D
  12. If stranded on a deserted island... I would bring "Doomdarks Revenge"
  13. I'll have the same as that guy over there...
  14. I don't really like coffee, but my body needs it. So yes, it's a love/hate thing
  15. Just needing to beat a score of 8 on 7 dice (normal 6 sided ones) in a game of Epic Space Marine (Tabletop wargame) to turn a looming defeat into a victory (I would accomplish my primary objective). I still wonder what the odds are for rolling 6 1's and a 2 in that handful of dice... I didn't find it particular funny, but the rest of the gang watching the game on the table spent an unseemly amount of time rolling around on the floor, laughing
  16. Well, if you include stuff they published, but didn't develop, Carmageddon is one of my all timefavourite games
  17. Release date: Soon! And don't trust others to do the QA
  18. Ehh... just for the sake of clarity, the undead representative is Crazy Joe, not the grinning skull to the left :)"
  19. Get to know more about your Obsidian developers Things you know, things you didn't know and things you were better off not knowing about FranKK. http://www.winterwind-productions.com/modu...showpage&pid=72 About himself, Nwn2, Baldurs Gate on consoles and gaming forums
  20. Not exactly a game... but I had a C64 program that could make the external 1541 diskdrive play God Save the Queen by vibrating the head. Probably wasn't good for the drive, but hilarious none the less.
  21. Depends on which incarnation of the companies. I've got games from the mid eighties with Activision labels on them So where did Activision come from then? Was that the company that the star devs from Atari set up? It sure looks like it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Activision#History At least some of the founders were ex-Atari (the original Atari, not the Infogrames Atari)
