  1. What he said While the surface of Malachor V was pretty "empty" of anything interesting to do, at least it had a nice spooky athmosphere.
  2. I wonder why people keep saying that :-" Kreia did *not* want the death of the force, as she knew all (ok, most) life in the universe was connected to it. Thats why Nihilus had to be destroyed (otherwise, Nihilus would have killed the force and the universe). Kreia wanted to free the galaxy from what she considered the control (manipulative nature) of the force and have people live without it like the Exile used to... She might have had all the traits of a kickass Sith Lord (Lady?) but her motives were not as clearcut selfish.
  3. Sheesh, let me get this straight: You are going to get stuck in an apartment with 5 girls, in temperatures below -15, most likely bogged down by snow, unable to do anything outside and trying to stay warm indoor... and you want us to feel sorry for you ?!? That should be worth an annoyance and a chutzpah point
  4. Been reading too much Dijkstra again ?!?
  5. Personal favourites (besides Master of Orion 2) are War in Russian and Pacific War. The last two formerly from SSI, now Matrix games if I remember correctly. Both are available as free downloads from the publishers web site.
  6. Darth Trask... You never got to see what happened behind that door. Perhaps he was just receiving instructions from his new masters "
  7. Just imagine the dialogue options... As for Selkath, I posted a nice Selkath recipe a while ago. Too lazy to dig it up again.
  8. Not a place I normally go, but since the link was there. Hilarious read and unfortunately, he does have a lot of valid points
  9. Time for a group hug...
  10. The dissection part was sort of gory  Perhaps you should warn people before they follow that link
  11. Kotor2 was probably aimed more at the crpg crowd than the sw crowd (just a suspicion) ? Star Wars seems be all about simple, clear cut situations (any problem should be solvable with a lightsaber) these days
  12. *Sigh* Lets spoil the fun then, the search function is your friend http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?sh...ndpost&p=290189
  13. Funny. I feel very much the same way. I loved the first two movies and found the third one to be an unforgivable piece of crap. It might have been the over the top long and overdone sentimental ending that ruined the impression, hard to say really. Was I the only one who cringed when Elrond made that ridiculous flourished movement when presenting Narsil to Aragorn ? If Jackson had just cut the honey dripping Shire ending (which was about 60 minutes too long) and added the scouring of the Shire instead... At least Saruman does bite the dust in the extended version, even if it's at the wrong time and place
  14. I'm too lazy to search for the thread, but I do seem to remember some developer/designer explaining it as a weasel like creature. Anybody got a link to those old threads ?!?
  15. Euww... >_ That leaves "None" as the choice then. Since I use my PC for other, rather demanding tasks (3d renderings and animations among others), being a good game machine is just an added bonus, not an extra cost. Now, if they would just make those Playstation and XBox emulators legal (heck, they could sell them themselves), life would be much easier for us non console gamers
  16. I read two times and couldn
  17. They will never know what hit them Thanks Eldar. Of course, you had to post this while I was running around in Singapore with no internet access for several days (couldn't find an internet cafe) Now I'm back in the old country (Denmark) for xmas though, so I can lurk again >_
  18. Any good Argentinian can tell you it was the Hand of God "
  19. *Sniff*... *Sniff*... Is that soap I smell on your hands Eldar?
  20. *Sigh* Fond memories of Re-Volt tournaments... not to mention Bubble Bobble
  21. What the hell are you guys talking about? One of the best pranks on this board. Might even be better than the fake Kotor III link :D
  22. It's all part of a ploy to get the US to "annex" Canada... while the Canadians are kept busy, we can grab Hans Island for good
  23. A fair estimate, yes. Some games take longer than that. Don't expect the eight wonder of the gaming world with a development cycle less than that. Without knowing the specifics of the contract, there is only guesswork. Possible models are a fixed fee, split and paid for each milestone in the process (the publisher takes the risk and the profit). A fixed fee as before, but slightly less, compensated by a royalty per unit sold (the publisher takes a slightly smaller risk, but has to share some of the profit). Other models might apply, thought I doubt Lucasarts or Obsidian is going to show the content of their contract to the forum
