  1. Actually, the 5+0 didn't either Maybe a good solution for sites who would have otherwise gone with RAID 5 but need some additional performance boost Not exactly a "recommended" implentation. Anyway, for my purposes (SQL servers with a high number of write transactions) there is really no way around 0+1
  2. I would extend that dislike to cover ALL phones. Short of somebody kicking in your door, it's the thing with the most potential to be intrusive on your privacy. Show Caller ID will only help you to a certain extent to filter out the noise. Perhaps if phones came with filter settings a'la killfiles for email...
  3. >_ ... Please tell me you meant it as a joke
  4. Actually, RAID 5 is the only unusable one, the one businesses stay *away* from :)" You get the worst of both worlds, crappiest performance and some loss of disk space (although the wasted space becomes less proportionally with more disks). If you want redundancy, you use RAID 1, if you want speed you use RAID 0, if you want speed and redundancy you use RAID 1+0 (which is an awful lot of disks). RAID 5 is the red headed step child which you can use for archive storage systems (where performance isn't critical), but thats about it.
  5. Sounds great so far. Bummer about the lack of tactical combat though It would have been nice if they had done it like Space Empires IV Edit: No tactical combat, whats the point of carefully designing your ships then ?
  6. So, they finally found a proper use for NWN1 :D
  7. Soylent green...
  8. Kone did the "hi" thread in Project New Jersey forum. That could explain it :D
  9. Yeah, modern does not automatically imply better in any way...
  10. So, it was the Canadians who funded those reprints of the infamous cartoons all over the world... I knew it! Time to start our own propaganda moves :-" Lets see, discrimination of french speaking minorities (those poor persecuted people in Quebec), weird political parties, sucks at icehockey, killers of baby seals, they probably abused the indigenous people too. Now I just have to make it fit together in a campaign somehow and gain the worlds sympathies for our cause

Rpg #1b, don't let the Paladin do the talking when the task is accomplished...

So, what exactly is it entangled photons do ? :)"
  13. *Taps fingers impatiently on table* *Looks left, then right, then straight ahead again* *Starts clicking with a pen* *Clicks some more with a pen* *Changes position on chair slightly* *Taps fingers on chair some more* *Goes looking for a puppy to kick* Damn I hate waiting... Love the new beta testers choice screenshots btw.

  15. Your player shoots bad guys, who hide and stuff. Shoot to kill baby shoot to kill! So, it's like Unreal Tournament 19 pages for that... people must be bored while waiting for something.
  16. I'm too lazy to crawl through all 16-17 pages... :"> Anybody care to review F.E.A.R. in like 3-5 lines (like, what's the game about) ?
  17. You didn't play the haunted mansion without sound, did you ?!? Then you better fix the sound and go back and do it again (preferably in THX quality etc.) :-"
  18. Yes, that's right. Everyone else in the entire world-wide cinema audience are wrong, and you are right. Finally. Somebody who understands... :D
  19. Hey, lay off Waterworld. It was a good movie. I even bought the DVD
  20. It's hard to believe that a movie with both Uma Thurman and Sean Connery could suck that badly. A crime against the tv series
  21. Scarlet Johanssen is always a bonus. Her name seems familiar, can't put a face on the name though. Her cares about her face... or acting... :)"
  22. Come to think of it, has there ever been a game with that feature (a game of "some" size), that was actually funny doing it ? If so, what did they do right, if not, why is there still a risk of it being added to a game ?
  23. Not if done like the first games... map travelling with the potential of discovery of special locations and encounters. Travelling was never really boring because travel time was "accellerated" (Sp?).
  24. Real time combat :D It was very fast. But you could get used to it after a bit of practice. I must have chosen a wrong smiley It was intended to be not particularly serious. I only ever played the demo and didn't like the demo. Not really sure what I expected from a fantasy game who allegedly used the special system, but what I saw in the demo of Lionheart wasn't it. I can't quite identify exactly what it was
