  1. Fire and Ice rules if you're familiar with Frazetta's art and accept it for what it is. Wizards is silly but fun. I've been collecting Frazetta images/wallpapers for 35 years (got a few of his artbooks too) Fire and Ice was nice, Wizards a major disappointment. Continuing my Roger Corman watching with Death Race 2000 and Galaxy of Terror.
  2. I wonder how well it would handle destructible environments in that case? Yes, I miss games like X-Com and JA2 where you could just blow up buildings and walls if the doorways were guarded too well
  3. Same here. Runner up would be EU III - Divine Wind. Generally fun: Dungeon Defenders, Magicka and Worms (yes, the 1995 version) Bought a truckload of games, indie, AAA and otherwise, but most of it was either forgettable or I haven't had time to play them properly yet. Biggest disappoint of the year: The Witcher 2. Runner up for disappointment: Dragon Age 2 (Demo)
  4. Ah yes, getting stuck in the Leopold Society. Add the Leviathan bug in Kotor to the game breakers. Older games weren't bug free (pun unintended) either, as you could get stuck in X-Com 2: Terror from the Deep if you researched the wrong alien at the wrong time, never finding the sunken city. As for Skyrim, I got as far as getting it downloaded from Steam and playing a bit with character creation. No idea what race to settle for really. Still need to complete my game of FO:NV before starting "serious" play anyway, so I have a bit of time still to make my mind up.
  5. For easy counting, subtract the Post# of the top post from the last post#. If it's 14 (IIRC), it should bring it over the top. Edit: E.g. post 60-46 = 14, so the next post should in theory go on top of next page.
  6. So far, the biggest difficulty for me is, that you can't assign favourite spells to quick keys (at least, I haven't found such an option). I've been putting myself on fire while healing goblins and killed myself by spontaneous forcefield creation that catapulted me through the air out into the ocean. Fancy robes or not, wizards swims like rocks If either of you two are looking for co-op buddies, I might know a guy. And by "a guy," I mean "I am desperate for people to play this with." My schedule is a bit on full side this side of the Weekend, but I might take you up on that offer after Sunday, if we can figure out something with the timezone challenge

A normal 360 pad works, there are official PC drivers on the MS homepage. There's also a wireless version bundled with a WLAN adapter for PC, though it's a bit more expensive. Don't go with a no-name or PS controller, as these ar often not recognized by games. There are work-arounds, but these are not always optimal. Microsoft's own xbox360 controller for PC's is almost too well recognised by games. I've had quite a few where I needed to physically unplug it because the game refused to use my joystick settings, despite selecting that as input device
  9. In case you turn out to have a suicidal, risk taking party and need the "understudy" to fill in for casualties, sign me up as a human ranger (archer). Always more fun taking people out at a distance.
  10. Started watching my collection of Roger Corman "classics". About time to tear of the shrink wrap, as I've had them for a while. First off was Humanoids from the Deep. Sadly a dud. Bad, but not bad enough to be good.

Tried out a bunch of demos. After playing them all for at least 5 minutes each, I ended up buying 2 games. Rochard was a must (got the version including the awesome soundtrack). Just plain fun. Secondary choice was Divinity 2 The Dragon Knight Saga (2 games in one)
  12. "Programming" is like "science". It would be a mistake to assume a scientist knows all science

Cheer up Morgoth Happy New Year guys
  14. This. It's the Rolls Royce of keyboards. Only time I've tried something similar was 25+ years ago when I tried a one of those old steam powered computers running CPM. The OS, the floppy and the monochrome amber screen may have sucked, but the keyboard... (gets all misty eyed). I've heard that there are some high-end IBM keyboards around in a similar quality though. Edit: Heh, I should have read Leferd's post first.
  15. Snuck. Gorth - Dictionary: 0 - 2 Still playing Fallout: New Vegas. Finishing off some of the smaller secondary quests before starting on the next DLC. Not quite sure which one to play next. Doing a few rounds of Dungeon Defender as my "casual" game. I was tempted by Civilization V on todays Steam Sale ($30 for the deluxe one). Only thing keeping me back is I hated the first one when I bought it in 92.
  16. Gold, gold! I'm rich!... Finished Dead Money. Dropped all unessential (i.e. besides holo rifle and assassin suit) stuff and filled my pockets with gold bars. Then pushed the buttons and persuaded Elijah to come and see me. Death being too good for him, I sneaked (snook?) out while he was ranting crossed my fingers, hoping for some very long lasting life support systems to keep him alive for a century or two. That'll teach him to put a collar on Gorth. Only problem was that my math was a bit off. I had forgotten to take into consideration the weight of my old gear, which got returned to me, leaving me stranded in the SE part of the map with more than 200lbs overweight My traitorous party members had of course other ideas than showing up and give a hand. It was a very long walk back to Lucky 38 In hindsight, I should just have grabbed ALL the gold.
  17. I suppose it's too late to point out that those holograms aren't romanceable? You mean, I carried Dean's tuxedo around for nothing?!?
  18. Getting close to the end (I think) of Dead Money. Gained access to the vault and made my way through some tunnels and catwalks, "killing" and dodging speakers. Met a premature end at the hands of a trio of holograms

Most of my Steam stuff is probably from the 4 humble bundles that I've bought and redeemed the codes for. Still bought a few things this December though. Grotesque Tactics 2, Plants and Zombies GOTY Edition, UFO Extraterrestials Gold (just to satisfy my curiosity), Worms (one of the best games ever), the Dungeon Siege III DLC and Skyrim which I still haven't gotten around to play yet). Forgot to mention Dungeon Defenders. One of those easy to learn, hard to master things. The demo did something unusual and actually sold me the game
  20. Best suggestion so far seems to be disabling it in the Bios and throw away the bios password. That way, you'll have to hard reset the bios to get access to it again. In an emergency, you can put in a usb netcard then There is really no good solutions short of having a dedicated file/information "server" with confidential info locked away and firewalled against the rest of the PC's.
  21. The DAS Keyboard is worth its weight in gold... and it's darn heavy. Best peripheral investment I've made for a long time (even when almost drowning it in red wine and then putting it in a nice bathtub with lukewarm water to clean it up). Not sure where to get a good mouse these days. I have an old 5 button Microsoft mouse that I've had for 9 years and dread the day it stops working.
