  1. Yup (I do understand a bit of Swedish), it also says the best before date is at the bottom of the can (not visible)
  2. Americans exposed to Swedish Cuisine. No, not the muppet Swedish Chef kind of cuisine...
  3. I know the guy is long dead and half an hour of drum solos is not everyones jar of vegemite, but the guy was an impressive drummer, not letting age getting in the way of his skill....
  4. Speaking of cheese... the proper way to break a Parmesan, As the maestro says in his accented English, this cheese will be broken! (I was all yeah, uh huh and why? until I saw what happened once he was done instructing the cheese in its fate)
  5. Correct. So, shooting your balls off qualifies you for the award too
  6. I don't know if it's obtuse, but a friend and I really enjoyed playing through Portal 2's two player campaign. To the point where I completely forgot it might have a single player campaign too. I should go back and check it out some day
  7. If I need to kill 20-30 minutes, I love a round of Killing Floor 2. It might be an acquired taste though, not everybody likes coop zombie killing.
  8. They are two different things though, aren't they? Going to the mall is optional, screw it if they have some nice Christmas decorations. It's the mall owners choice (and you can shop elsewhere). School is different, most kids (in the western world) don't have school as an optional destination. It's usually decided by the catchment area you live in. Get rid of religious (and political) symbols. Private schools... meh, like malls. Nice to have but not necessary I suppose. Edit: Disclaimer, I don't have kids, but I've seen people fret over those "border lines" determining which school their kids end up in when moving home
  9. Youtube sometimes comes up with the weirdest suggestions... but I actually liked this one (even if completely unrelated to what I was searching for)
  10. Looks like Scott from Marketing is trying to beat Putin in who gets their population pumped full of "something" first Summary Australia says it has secured access to a promising coronavirus vaccine and will offer free doses The country's PM Scott Morrison says the vaccine should be "as mandatory as you can possibly make it" The vaccine, being developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University, is in advanced clinical trials https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-europe-53831503 and https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-53826846
  11. They came from the cold void, the space between the galaxies.... the Tyanids! Tardigrades!
  12. Heh. looking at the picture in the thread link. the Australian summer of bush fires lasted just up to the point where covid struck. Now I'm waiting for that giant, radioactive lizard (thank you Fukushima) to wade out of the water up there around Cairns and start its stomping march down the East Coast....
  13. George Carlin on a roll.... warning nsfw language aplenty
  14. I wonder why it took me so many years to discover this guy. I've been on a youtube watching spree recently. Absolutely love his ability to cut through BS and call things out
  15. Acoustic Rammstein. No less disturbing than the hard rock version...
  16. ...or the world ends in September
  17. it probably wouldn't be approved in the West because of the high plutonium content Life in Melbourne these days... (she's exaggerating though, the fine for individuals breaking the quarantine is only $20000 not $100000, the latter being what businesses get fined)
  18. Feels a bit odd splitting posts between this and the metal thread, but whatever. A bit more Rammstein from their "young" days. About the city of Moscow "This city is a prostitute She has red spots on her forehead Her teeth are made of gold She's fat and yet so lovely Her mouth falls to my valley when I pay her for it She takes off her clothes but only for money The city that keeps me in suspense" "She is old and nevertheless beautiful I can't resist her I can't resist She powders her old skin and has gotten her breasts rebuilt rebuilt She makes me horny I suffer torment She dances for me I have to pay I have to pay She sleeps with me but only for money It's still the most beautiful city in the world" "I see something, that you don't see (When you close your eyes) When you sleep deeply in the night I see something, that you don't see (When you kneel before me) When you lie before me I see something, that you don't see (When you touch me with your mouth) When you talk to me I see something, that you'll never see One, two, three!"
  19. Some more slow paced Rammstein
  20. The things that sometimes sees the light of day when laws change... I was actually reading up on the covid situation in Melbourne but thought this was interesting. Interesting not just the number of allegations, those are hard to avoid if you serve long enough I suppose, but these guys are not exactly surviving on pennies. The NYPD's 10 most unwanted: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/datablog/2020/aug/04/new-york-police-department-allegations-complaints
  21. @Guard Dog originally brought this up in the funny thread, but it turns out there is an interesting story behind it How the ants survived harsh conditions as a group rather than individuals (good little soviet ants!) https://www.stpetersburgnews.net/news/266019898/the-soviet-era-nuclear-bunker-cannibal-ants-mystery-explained
  22. Hey, fair is fair. wanna bet many of those protesters have been defunded throughout their whole existence? Sorry, you almost had me there (until I saw it was Faux News) I did click the link and read the article though. Please give my condolences to the poor back door that was shot (while he was in the front yard). He still leads the mob 3-0 in killings (edit: which may be perfectly justifiable, the story didn't tell).
  23.
