  1. Petroleum is my high.
  2. The smell of napalm in the morning... Scratch that. The smell of napalm dumped on unsuspecting vietnamese villages filled with sick children and elderly in the morning. Also, coffee, Lacoste and Kenzo perfumes, and a good aged Brie.
  3. Not my favorite, but Morning Glory comics strangely has me coming back for more. It's way beyond being politically incorrect, it's sometimes shameful to just laugh at what they do.
  4. It means 'line" (as in, "line up") in Italian and Portuguese.
  5. There wouldn't be such an issue if technology was used moderately instead of trying to use all its blitz and glitz in every game coming out. You can still do what was done during the Fallout - Torment - Baldur's Gate era; developers just won't.
  6. So the Earth likes grunge?
  7. All the Morning Birds - Jullie Holland - Catalpa
  8. Dress as a fopish nobleman and randomly point and laugh at someone.
  9. I'd like to see him prove that one. What exactly is there to rehearse or train in the game? It's not possible to have depictions of sexual intercourse between adults and children in The Sims 2. These people are as much of a bane to videogames as Frederic Wertham was to comics, and just like him they are idiots if they think codes or legislations will ever work.
  10. That might be more true than you think... She practices karate. And by practice I mean she's a 10th Dan. Aka, black belt
  11. She's infinitely replayable
  12. Homosexuality is a genetical means of birth control, like a natural contraceptive genetically developed over the years and manifested over several species. This here bottle of bourbon told me so.
  13. Well, one is more game mechanic oriented, the other one not really. I'm looking at it trough the perspective that what happens directly ingame takes quite a different direction than what happens in story segments. The former is meant to suspend our belief for long stretches of gameplay conventions, the later is a more serious aspect nearing on realism (or simply placed in a context outside of usual gaming conventions) and in that case it tends to break down. Taking bullets and healing one self instantaneously with painkillers is farfetched, but the prospect of having the character miraculously survive trough ordeals when these situations are not ruled by game conventions at all seems more incredulous. Still, it's a fun ride. Only my girlfriend
  14. For some reason, I could never get into the story of Payne 2. Max Payne will remain a good and well told story to me, as well as a good game. But the sequel just seems to try and surpass it and largely fail. Gameplay wise there's little to keep me interested, with the exception of one or two levels (the construction site where you team up with and control Mona is a blast, for instance). The addition of a more complex physics system is nice but rarely lifts up, or matters much. The game also felt smaller. And the story is just FUBAR. Vinnie alive? Vlad a villain? He was too much of an endearing and somewhat quirky character in the prequel, definietely not villain material as far as I'm concerned. Mona letting down her guard? And how many times does Max come close to dying? It creates some tension in the first game, but seeing him escape death over and over just feels forced. He's a badass, we get the point already. Stop pumping him full of lead and breaking his ribs, for god's sake.
  15. The Escapist is a new weekly gaming webzine. In their own words: The Escapist covers gaming and gamer culture with a progressive editorial style, with articles and columns by the top writers in and outside of the industry. A weekly publication, its magazine-style updates offer content for a mature audience of gamers, entertainment enthusiasts, industry insiders, and other "NetSet" readers. It has a simple and efficient layout, and some nice articles. You can also download each issue as a *.pdf file, to boot! Link: The Escapist Thanks go out to DarkSign at the 'Codex forums for pointing this out.
  16. As if ratings were meaningful in this case. Going from Mature to Adult Only means zilch in the greater picture. They wanted a scapegoat, something to ease off the pressure from "concerned" parental associations and sensationalist media - they got one. Guess what? Grand Theft Auto will keep selling, idiots. The more prohobitions it has, the more it will be desired by gamers of most all ages. You're just promoting the game. Even for cases where gamers below the ratings' age don't acquire it legally, they'll still be able to warez them. Morons. I like this post by a guy called Jay over at that article's comment section:
  17. Nice video, but little to no substance as expected.
  18. So, if we were to block Vivec's access to the remaining parts of the city, he would go on a starving frenzy and start robbing food out of everyone then being attacked by guards.
  19. Strangely enough, that dark teal considerably slows down my access to this thread.
  20. NPCs will move around and kick cats.
  21. Natural Born Lover - Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings - Naturally
  22. Bluegrayblacktealred.
  23. These bombings will only stop when their targets are dead. I speak, of course, of JK Rowling.
