  1. Heh, heh. Yeah, an advantage of living in ol' decadent self-serving arrogant cheap-ass Europe. "
  2. Damn shame the NWN2 boards were relocated. It would be nice to have some "designer ramblings" for NWN2 too. However, does that prevent you from making casual comments about the game in these boards? I wonder how much speculation this could cause if seen by the wrong people (ie. Bastila Skywalker). ZOMG OBSIDIAN IS MAKIGN TEH KOTOR 3!!!!!1 LOLOlOL
  3. You really love necroposting, don't you?
  4. Er, no, I don't. OF COURSE I have never been to any of those flirting chat-thingies. No, no. In fact, my first experience at real-time communication over the internets was at the VtM game run by Ender. Yes, that's it. "
  5. ...I'll try. No promises, though. For a minute there I was fearing this could be another of those "ZOMG SAN ANDEARS MEETS STAR WARS!!1" threads. There are a few good ideas there, but most of those, barring the JK style combat, can easily be implemented into a RPG. I don't like being forced to spend a part of the game as the learner, be it with a master or without, because of the simple fact that it's been done to death. I'd much rather start as a fledgling Jedi Knight (as in experienced enough to venture alone) faced with tough moral choices whose outcome determine the character's path. I don't see the need for going from some insignificant worm to the ultimate munchkin in the universe. Also, there would be loads of raving kiddies outraged at the fact that you can't be the perfect Jedi and totally make out with teh hawt chick. But then again, Jedi celibate is a stupid idea to begin with. But the bottom line is that a Deus Ex-style SW game would be great. Hell, any Deus Ex style game would be teh shiznit... :D
  6. A/S/L? Err... I mean, any links to show what it's like?
  7. I'm not planning on buying anything. There are a few games that I'll probably rent, though. NWN2, Battlefront 2, and Hammer & Sickle come to mind.
  8. I guess that makes me a 4 in that scale, since I just came back from a week under moderated posting. A 5 means you are banned? Moderator attention is already a merit/flaw (a flaw alright, but for the sake of categorising...). Moderation status should be used the other way, as in how close are you to have moderator demeanor, and thus, how well you get along with them. Also, you should carefully consider ratings in certain skills. A kung-fu skill of 5 pretty much means that nobody would dare to mess with you... given past experiences of other posters who have engaged in a flame war with you. There aren't many users like that here, simply because this is a rather friendly community, barring a few exceptions. Also, mods automatically get kung-fu ratings of 5, as they wield real ultimate power. I think there should be a skill for image usage, too. A 5 would mean true mastery of the obscure art of Kaftan Barlast-ism, while 1 would represent a timid Fanboy/Fangirl thread contributor.
  9. Well, at least he gave you a moderation status of 5, which probably means you are the most likely candidate to be made a moderator. I'll do some ratings tonight perhaps, but right now I can't be arsed. P.S. Free at last! *Palps cackle*
  10. Because that's the log I made. And it's Spanish, not Portuguese.
  11. I have my doubts that asking for help would have made any difference regarding the Kursk. The ship was a total wreck in that case and it sunk to a greater depth. There's no way it could have surfaced by its own means. But yeah, the contrast is nice.
  12. I assume you are going to up the ranged weapons damage as well, then? That's the reason there is aggravated damage. And characters with 10 soak dice are not the norm. Only heavily combat-oriented (and very powerful) characters have that sort of stats. Not only that, but it also introduces a huge imbalance between going bare-fisted and carrying a knife or a sword, to the point of rendering the brawl skill useless, unless you have Protean. It's interesting that you bring up the Assamites, considering that their special brand Discipline allows them to deal aggravated damage with melee weapons. I'd rather not be hit with 10+ dice of aggravated damage several times in a round from a regular melee weapon if I can help it. In fact, I'd probably be playing an Assamite if I had known we were using this kind of crazy damage. " Well, you are the GM and you have the final say on any rules matter. But in my experience, modifying the rules this way can result in unpleasant imbalances, as a lucky roll can end the "Final Boss" in the first stroke of a fight, somewhat ruining the Chronicle, or result in Final Death for a PC "before they know what hit them". But hey, you're the boss.
  13. Kaftan's right, again. I had lots of fun last night, but it was kinda slow. That whole fight scene was unnecessary and unusually cumbersome. I guess it's because it was the first game for some, but I really hope things speed up in the next sessions. You can try to handle dice rolls yourself, but I don't think it will really make a difference once players get used to the basics. More like the opposite, in fact. I'm looking forward to the next session.
  14. H-B, Bal.
  15. Um, Doom 3 is sincerely predictable. After about thirty minutes it became obvious which actions were going to trigger an enemy spawn, or behind what corner there was going to be a zombie, thus eliminating any possible scares derived from surprise. Which was the whole point of the game being a perpetual dark alley to begin with. It became annoying very fast. AvP2 on the other hand...
  16. Even if it was PAC-MAN with supermutants instead of ghosts, it would be Fallout. That's because they have the license, and you don't. ) Whether it will be <insert random adjective of epic proportions> or not is a different matter altogether. Ah, yes. It shows in the dispassionate demeanor you show each time you post in a FO-related thread (including but not restricted to this one).
  17. I fail to see how that is necessarily a good thing.
  18. For as long as they can keep a good array of RP'ing options, a plot (and storytelling) good enough to keep the player going, a fair amount of the FO atmosphere, and a somewhat balanced combat system, it will be a good RPG. I'll judge it when the game is out. It's funny how people say that "if it ain't isometric TB, it ain't Fallout". Sorry folks, Fallout is the universe. If make a game in that setting, it will be as much Fallout as the originals. It's time to move on.
  19. Well, okay. In that case, you can borrow the portrait I intended to use before I found one slightly better by chance. There you go.
  20. You n00bs. Behold the paradigm of aircraft engineering.
  21. Yeah, yeah. But will there be some ph4t 1007 to grab or not?!
  22. Alas, that's about it. It sucked when they cancelled Enterprise, despite all the haters and continuity nazis throwing a party worldwide. Yeah, I think I remember it. Didn't follow it though, and I don't really remember anything about it other than the name.
  23. Initiative rolls. Those can be made according to the order of the list of users logged in on the channel. Simple enough.
  24. The quotation marks are a good idea. It's the only way to clearly difference between IC and OOC stuff. However, other than that, establishing somewhat fixed rules can be cumbersome. I recommend we just exercise common sense, try to be the most clear possible when posting instructions/dialogues/requests/actions, and most importantly, try not to flood the chat. Also, I think it may be a good idea to find a way to indicate that the character has finished talking, to avoid interruptions and help make more coherent conversations. We'll probably need to establish some kind of order to follow when making initiative rolls and whatnot. With eleven people all rolling dice and declaring actions in an uncoordinated fashion, playing can become impossible. The /me command can be used in a descriptive way, to combine action and dialogue too: *Angelo takes a closer look at the watch and says: It means you need to change the battery. But since this post may appear anytime between today and next week, my suggestions might not be of any use at all, so whatever. Authority: Fret not, I am always vigilant
