  1. My bad. Did I say Ayn Rand? I meant Todd Howard: You know you want to.
  2. Now, now. Don't be jealous. If you ask nicely enough, maybe HK would make one for you with that, um, thing! Or you could use the Ayn Rand one.
  3. Oh, I get it now! So fans get to say what's canon and what isn't, based on their personal tastes.
  4. Shouldn't you take your own advice to heart? Shouldn't you post something other than useless fluff for a change? I made my argument, er, in the same post you quoted, and in the one before that.
  5. So what? Is FO2 any less canon than the first? Is it any less of a setting-establishing resource? Arguments please, not the same old rehashed excuses.
  6. I'm sure you could give him a few pointers on how to run it. Um, sure. After all, it's not like stuff like the Keeng Rat and his bro are in the game IC, at all. Neither is that odd guy Horrigan, either. Or talking plants. Or huge, mutated, spectacle-wearing chessmaster scorpions. Or S&M-loving supermutants. Or scien... err, I mean, hubologists. No sir, thankfully, you can avoid all of that - it's easy as uninstalling the game! Sure, Bethy may be going overboard with a DLC revolving around the silliness present in the setting... but it's not really out of place, all things considered.
  7. Shut up. Anything with the Batmobile in it is awesome. Ergo, he won the thread.
  8. Yeah, the Astral Blade is pretty neat at those levels. Not many mobs get resistance to sonic damage. Why did you choose longswords, though? Isn't the Silver Sword a scimitar? i have no idea - i only just started playing i haven't gone for any weapon focuses so far, so maybe i will go for scimitars after all Oh ****. I've made a boor of myself yet again. Sorry about that, I ASSumed you had already played the game. Forget I said anything.
  9. Yeah, the Astral Blade is pretty neat at those levels. Not many mobs get resistance to sonic damage. Why did you choose longswords, though? Isn't the Silver Sword a scimitar? -- I'm playing NWN2 myself, too. I went with a modified version of the WM suggested by Gromnir and he's kicking butt scary - despite my best efforts to gimp the build. But now I'm thinking it would be fun to try perhaps a rogue/wizard and go for arcane trickster (Spell Fixes allows for sneak attack on ranged touch attacks, tee hee). Is it odd that I find playing with the character generator more fun at times than playing the game proper?
  10. Yeah, I agree. Taks has been too quiet lately.
  11. I'd say it's the only reason it made news?
  12. Yeah, this poll is loaded. "Society made him do it", "videogames", "all of the above" are all missing as options. Who cares about Hades anyway. My professional opinion is that with that face, he wasn't getting any. But hey I might just be projecting my own insecurities, here... edit: nevermind, got it
  13. How so? The market forces, you say? They can counterbalance that by offering better hours/money or other benefits. And there are people that may be willing to give up on smoking or other activity because they really want (or need) the job. You can't go on without a job like you can go on without a shirt. So, no, it doesn't necessarily mean that Weyco will be losing anything by enacting these policies, and it's not like the job market now is experiencing a sharp demand for qualified professionals across the board. So until the situation you described comes to pass, we could very well find ourselves in a position where a majority (as in 50%+1) of employers control the private lives of their personnel. "And if you don't like it, we have this guy from India/Mexico/China here, that would kill to get your job". What worries me is the increasing scope in which companies keep tabs on their employees' private lives. It's a pretty standard practice now to check online profiles, for instance. As long as I get the job done, they don't have a right to know (much less place restrictions on) what I do in my off time.
  14. Yeah, sure. -You're a Democrat, so no, we don't like you. -You're too ugly, so no, we don't want you. -You're... umm... bah, I just don't like the way you look. GTFO -etc...
  15. Silly does not mean "accidental", silly! Depends on the purpose of their plot devices. In this case, "physics not working the same way as their RL counterparts" is only a means towards having stuff like the Master, deathclaws and ghouls. I suppose you're going to tell me that that's serious business.
  16. So, yeah. They want to enforce this as a character trait, not just something you can't do while on-duty.
