  1. Look at post #9, is that, or is it not a Developer? http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=33288&st=0
  2. Depends on what you mean by anymore, it wasn't that long ago that a thread popped into a thread after the last patch to say that a patch providing better quality music & video would be released in the next few days. No one's been on since then to say that, "sorry, we're not", or "soon"... or... whatever. As it stands with patchs right now, we've been lied to point-blank and had no communication since.
  3. Actually, when you say "they thought I was the last of the Jedi" or some such to Atris, she replies that SHE is the last of the jedi (there's an obvious slight there I guess), even though she knows there are other masters hangin around. Perhaps a non-practicing Jedi isn't considered to be a Jedi... ie- a Jedi-in-hiding that isn't helping people isn't really a jedi.
  4. This isn't about cheating per se, but it is about using an editor. It's not to hard to find KSE (KoTOR Savegame Editor) on the web. One of the things it allows you to do is change player appearance. There's both a model and a portrait for Atris (as if she could join your party at one point?), so she's pretty easy to make into your "exile". She never removes the her trademark outfit... which kinda sucks, but isn't so different than the Mandalore/Kreia/Hanharr/GOTO/HK/T3(and Visas to some degree) situation if you think about it (I'm curious at what point in the design process they decided... let's only let them change outfits on three characters or so... any more would spoil them). She also never visibly goes darkside (grey and crusty). The famed but unused "Darth Traya" model could also be used with the Atris portrait if you wanted, and you play through the game like that... OR... you could play with the Darth Nihilus model. Since he's an.... irregular model, he lacks the animations for stuff like... typing at a computer console. On the upside his weapon "flourish" is seemingly completely unique (you check this out on Peragus as soon as you grab the vibroblade). It's tempting to play through with him so he could not suck for once. Similarly, you can pick pretty much any model, though other ones can be buggy I've found. The more normal they are, the better they tend to work. Party ones especially ie. - you could pick Handmaiden for a female exile with no real party conflicts since you wouldn't have her in a party anyway. It's not cheating anyhow, but I think it makes for an amusing game.
  5. she's got a kinda evil queen from Snow White thing going, but with so much skin covered... it's difficult to see the Atris in there. There's a side by side comparison in the old thread if you wanted to see it. ..and sorry for stealin the pic, I didn't know I'd be leeching bandwidth, I just cut'n'pasted and didn't think to check the domain. Who hosts images thereself these days? "
  6. if by "post the pics" you mean the Darth Traya pics, as per your sig, search if your friend... I found the pics within the first two pages doing a search for Atris.. in this thread... http://forums.obsidianent.com/index.php?showtopic=31338&hl= in this is a screenie ripped from that very same thread If you mean you want to see a pic of a female DSer in a dancer outfit, I could probably arrange that given some time...
  7. The console version of K2 was also buggy, there's just no possibility of that one being patched. Of course, for a game that been out.. what.. 6 months, and with no communication since the last patch except for the developer blurb: " Actually as previously stated, the music and movies were too big to include in this patch and will be released in a second patch in a few days. " The odds of this one ever really being fixed and taken out of "random crash"-land seem... long. I think the fans will finish the restoration project before the actual developers release a decent patch (if ever).
  8. As a little extra comment, I noticed that not only can your DS character be featured prominently, but their appearance will reflect what they were wearing when the flag got hit. So it's possible to have a darkside female in the dancer outfit on the main screen, which amused me I guess.
  9. yeah, I just spent a few minutes searching and found screenshots of her posted back in March it looks like... I need to learn to search first I guess
  10. Whilst screwing around with various game settings I decided to change a value in swkotor2.ini on a whim. I'm not sure if people have noticed this before, but there's a value under Game Options called: CurSithLord=0 It seems to toggle the Sith Lord displayed on the main game screen. It starts at 0, which is Darth Sion, I figured it goes Nihilus after that.. and so on... but... when I changed it to one I got a special treat: Dark Atris/Darth Traya. Supposedly Atris was supposed to "visibly" go darkside, and be a possible alternate end boss if the game was played a certain way. I'd seen small screenies before of the old model, but if you do it this way you can get a nice look at the model all.... up-close and personal. Hopefully this is news to someone if not, sorry for wasting people's time. To recap: Basically, set CurSithLord=1
  11. force aura... the defense power, since it gives no defense (in my xbox version at least)... can't get much lamer than nothing
  12. the one component thing is probably because the workbench goes off your PC's repair skill (for breakdowns), rather than the user's skill... unlike with the med/lab thing. So, it'll list the repair skill for the user when you're at the bench screen, but when you're breaking things down, it uses the PC's skill
  13. Since the game has no live support, the only way Xbox users will play a bug-free version is if the game were re-released. No discount if you already own it either. The console gamer just got screwed in this, not much can be done about that.
  14. While I'd like the ending to be restored, I'd also like other things left out of the game put back in. By this, I mean... things like Atris being a possible final-final boss, depending on gameplay. Since apparently her voice is recorded for all those parts as well, the VA work is already done. That's also part of the ending, but I don't know if the "dark" model of her... as seen in the old strat. guide... is there on the CDs with the rest of it. I'm also curious if other various little chatter scenes were left out for any particular reason, and still have the material there. How much is "unfinished" and how much is unimplemented. For instance, while I wish the droid planet was in the game, if the whole thing is just entirely missing since it was never worked on... I would rather the lead-ins just be cut from HK's conversation tree... that's the neater thing to do. On the other hand, if Master Vash has... a model (she's in a cutscene), and all her voice work recorded, it should be possible to add her back in... rather than have her be a perpetual corpse. I know this thread is geared towards fixing the ending, but I wonder if it would be possible to "fix" other things... since I doubt broken quests will be patched to fix (like Mandalore leadership quest... goes nowhere, and leaves a box in your quest window).
  15. They listed crash to desktop as a "known issue" in the read me... nothing says sub-standard effort quite like that. Any game with that kind of known issue at release is an insult to whoever purchased it.
  16. That's... bizarre, I've never had that problem. Everytime I've turned a character into a Jedi they gained XP just fine, though I have had a few characters behind in levels once or twice, but it never had anything to do with Jedifying them. Players encountering bugs vs. players not encountering bugs seems pretty split down the middle--many play through the game encountering numerous game enders, yet countless others don't. Eh, just lucky, I guess. The worst I've had is two Attons and two Kreias on the same screen, that sort of thing. Stuff you'd laugh at but wouldn't really stress over. I can't help with the Handmaiden problems, unfourtunately... haven't played as a male Exile yet. But, I CAN tell you about the HK thing: the love dialouge actually appears after you view the hologram of Bastila/Carth that T3 has. It isn't a cutscene (neither is the HK bit, obviously) so the Handmaiden bit shouldn't be an issue. EDIT: Oh, wow, that post was made in January... Horace probably gave up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You have to admire, at least to a certain degree... the many layers of KoTOR2, not that you find new plot stuff everytime you play... but the game DOES constantly reveal new and previously unknown bugs to you
  17. yes, people always seem to get stuck on the last part of that "subquest", I think they don't know that
  18. Actually, there's 5 Khoonda movies. Two turret, two minefield, and one just callled "Battle of Khoonda"... I'm really quite curious if anyone has managed to get all 62
  19. Buy an x-box less mess and less stress <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I dunno about that. The xbox version isn't going to be patched... I'd just hope for a PC patch at this point.
  20. They all end up being pretty easy since the BAB progression is the same for all classes this time around. Your consular has the same chance as your guardian to hit something. If anything, the guardian is the big loser in this game, since the other classes match him for attack chance, but he lacks the force benefits of being consular and the skill benefits of being a sentinel. Going single saber doesn't make the game harder. To actually give the game difficulty, you have to MAKE it difficult. Here's some helpful tips: 1.play on difficult (this goes without saying) 2.put all your stat points into inappropriate stats at creation (if you're going guardian go all CHA and INT, and make sure your STR & DEX stay at 3.play the game naked(referring to the PC, not you the reader) (after all, the exile is so powerful, clothes are really an unfair advantage... as are implants, headgear, shields....) 4.pick feats that don't apply to your play style (ranged feats if you're going lightsaber) 5.play solo (party members? more like baby-sitters) 6.decide if you're going light or dark, then pick the opposite side's feats (of course a lightside Jedi can beat the game using lightside powers, where's the challenge in that?) 7.Don't upgrade any weapons that you use, don't go unarmed either, since "unarmed" improves so much in the game... you totally can beat down people with it.... and if you're truly hardcore, stick to something with a nice and low fixed damage... like a plasma torch (Of course mighty Sith Lords will fall to your uber saber with long-lost crystals and a non-comedogenic finish... a true Jedi can kill anyone with a twig) 8.Your character heals naturally fast, so don't use those wussy-medpacks... or any other items except basic frag grenades.... and only if absolutely necessary. 9.The level cap in KoTOR1 was high enough, stop leveling at 20. (just don't hit the level-up button... easy enough) In addition, I'd recommend not using the following force powers: Heal, Speed, Force Lightning, Force Crush And these feats: Flurry, Rapid Shot, Toughness The game will still be easy, but perhaps that will help somewhat.
  21. Well, whatever Obsidian's issues may be... Prima Guides have a long running history mediocrity, so I wouldn't worry about that part.
  22. With respect to the influence system, it's funny that you mention it, but Mira is the only character that says anything after being "Jedi-ed" to my knowledge. The first conversation after you make her one she has a little comment... that's it, but she does say something. I like what the influence system promised, but it really needed more fleshing out, you're right in that.
  23. I think I recall a developer confirming that both of these things were cut at some point... you can probably find the post somewhere around here...
  24. I had a post lying about in gamefaqs for about a month asking this same question. I managed to unlock 59 of the movies, but never all 62. A guy who looked at the xbox-dvd gave me all the file names, but even with that.. I couldn't really come up with some alternate way to play things to unlock a movie. Unless a developer or user can confirm otherwise.... you seem to only be able to unlock 59 of them.
  25. Yes, the general consensus is that the game is too easy. Perhaps someone will mod it later? Nothing to be done at the moment.
