It should be 9AM PDT. We are having Paradox check on this. Steam has been tweaked now (as of 4pm eastern time), giving a result of 20 hours, or noon, which is 9 pdt. Thank you guys btw for letting us know. They fixed it up this morning.

We don't hate you - we love you! Paradox set the time then so as many of our worldwide customers can enjoy at the same time as possible. That put it's at 9 AM our time, 12 PM yours, and 5 PM where they are. That way there are staff at Valve, Obsidian, and Paradox all at the same time in case something happens.

In the case of people just getting the retail box, we're just shipping the retail box when it has the disc ready too. Other rewards that were added on would be shipped now though. For anyone with a CE, Paradox is shipping those without discs initially, and then will ship the discs later. We thought shipping an empty retail box with basically nothing in it would be weird. Sorry for any confusion.

Hi Katarack, I don't know quite yet personally - the rest of the crew is off to our company release party tonight, but I'm here! What I'm sure we'll do is put out a backer update on it in the next week or so with an update as to when it will be released. We'd like it wrapped up ASAP while PoE is fresh!

Hi Raeya, The reason for that specific tier is because the Royal edition actually comes with the strategy guide too, which unfortunately isn't part of the $50 tier. All of the other items will be available on the Backer Portal shortly though. We originally weren't planning to have the Steam and GOG bundles for backers because Paradox's SKU's don't match up 1:1 to what ours were, but we did our best to match them up as much as we could, and for some tiers it doesn't cross over as nicely as we would have hoped, just because of the strat guide.

I'm sorry but locking games so that they can't be played outside of a country XY is totally fraked up. What if I am on vacation in another country? What if I moved to another country for good? What if I am on a business trip? Huh? Steam forums are full of complaints in regard to this issue. And no, not only from people who got cheap RU copies. It's ridiculous and anti-consumer policy Let's then tag Mexican, Brazilian and other countries gifts\keys as onlyrunincountryX coz they are too cheaper than US or EU versions. ...... or maybe we could learn a thing or two from GOG. Hi Meretrelle, talking with the good folks at Paradox today, they said that how it will work is that keys bought from a certain region have to first be activated in the region the keys were assigned to, but can then be used anywhere, so your vacation example should be very possible. Backers get worldwide keys (but they aren't for sale otherwise, so they shouldn't be subject to gray market sales.)

Hi Sensuki, try redeeming your key and if you run into any problems, contact us via Support (along with your Steam name) and we'll work with Steam to get you set up.

Hi Myrten, the type of key you get is based on which tier you purchased, not how much money you put in if that makes sense. You can review this by visiting your Orders tab on your Account Profile. Click on the order(s) you have there, and there's a "What does this include?" link under the tier choice you made that will show you what comes with the tier you chose, as well as list any addons you picked up.

I wish we could I very much wanted to release it yesterday for you guys, but unfortunately with how Steam and GOG work, you can only have one official release date and time. The version press folks are playing is effectively a "locked" version that behaves in a more limited manner than an official release version (e.g., friends can't see you playing it, it's patched as a separate build, etc). This would still work differently than expected after the release date and would require us to send out a second batch of keys for the "official" version which we felt was very confusing. We definitely hear you guys though and had good intentions; we just couldn't realize them without a lot of strangeness for you.

We'll get that fixed up with the GOG folks today - it's compatible with Mac and Linux too on GOG.

Regarding GOG not showing Mac and Linux versions, we'll work with them today to make sure that's all sorted out. Thanks for the head's up.

Isn't that the same with Steam too? If it's listed as Steam Play, yes. It is possible for developers to allow a key to only work on a specific platform. Of course, we didn't do that.

Hi ComMcNeil, please contact our Support. If you can send us as much detail about what your friend is seeing (e.g., exact error messages) when he enters his key, that'll help us when we contact Steam about it. Also, what country he's in and what platform he's trying to redeem for (Windows/Mac/Linux.)

well i have the same thing. i pledged for the $50 digital edition. i should get the royal edition but i got the champion edition instead. Hi guys, the Royal edition includes the strat guide, but that's not in the $50 digital edition or the $65 boxed edition, unfortunately. The other redeemable items will be available on your Products tab on or by Thursday.

Yeah, GOG doesn't really have a way to pre-load, so it'll be available once they make it live. I believe everything is ready for it to go on time still FWIIW (9 AM PST / 17:00 CET on Thursday).
