  1. Seems pretty real to me, and honestly, they do it with fish already. I'm guessing there will be drawbacks to this type of genetic manipulation. Hopefully they'll find that out before we get a glow in the dark child.
  2. Mossa, that's great to hear. Keep educating yourself and you'll have a great leg up on people down the road. Also stay in school, because that will open doors for you. A college degree isn't necessary to get a job and do it well, but it shows an employer that you know how to follow through and complete a long term task. It shows dedication and determination.
  3. Go get Hammer and Sickle.
  4. *sigh* This will only get worse...
  5. That was pretty funny. SNL tends to go in waves of talent. Now is kind of a rebuilding time for them. Maybe I should Tivo an episode and see if it's improving.
  6. Shadowrun is a big favorite, and that's no surprise. Alternatively, I'd love to see a RIFTS type game, but I have no clue how it would be done. RIFTS was huge, so you'd have to just choose an area.
  7. Well, if it's deleted...we don't really know who to PM. That was actually a very useful thread, so I think we really need a new one to help everyone keep track of Xfire profile names and such.
  8. I can, Daggerfall and Arena were way ahead of their time. When it comes to graphics, RPG's usually get the short end of the stick, but Bethesda has consistently pushed the envelope. Now Morrowind came out at the same time as NWN. I bought them both, but Morrowind captured my attention first. It was a beautiful game, and I enjoyed a good 30 hours of it. It had flaws, like no real compelling story or characters, but I don't regret buying it. NWN had the same flaws in my eyes, but it wasn't as pretty. Eventually NWN convinced me otherwise, but that was more because of the user made mods that were released and the expansions. NWN had legs. Bethesda, in my eyes, is a company that keeps RPG's as a viable genre. RPG companies are few and far between, and many can't survive. Bethesda has a solid track record and they've pushed the envelope with every release. That's a good thing in my book. If Oblivion has interesting characters and an engaging plot, it will make me happy, but even if it doesn't, it raises the graphical standards of the RPG genre. That seems worth getting excited about. PS - I don't trust PC gamer at all. They are the biggest sell outs in the industry. I'll wait for the Computer Gaming World preview.
  9. So did he get paid for doing Shadowguard, since it's a pay to play module?
  10. The game is based around the Silent Storm engine, as I said earlier, and Nival seemed to be pretty involved. Out of all the Russian development studios, I'd say Nival and Akella are the only two that really compete with the rest of the world.
  11. Sweet, I just grabbed the trial as well. Should be a good way to spend the 3 day weekend.
  12. But you will never get lost or run into street gangs... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Street gangs are the best part. That's real motivation to move your butt.
  13. The rumor was he got hired by Bioware. I heard the guy who did the Dreamcatcher series was offered a job as well, but he didn't want it. I guess that's one way to get into the industry.
  14. It has Vampires. It's not quite the Ann Rice version of Vampires though. There's a whole theme of Light versus Dark. Light has a police force that keeps an eye on the Dark called Night Watch, and the Dark has the same thing for their side called the Day Watch. It honestly seems a bit cheesy, but the demo sparked my interest.
  15. Yeah, it's the same game world, and this guy did two unbelievable chapters before he disappearded. Basically he develops characters very well and makes you face some tough decisions. It's an awesome example of a well made mod. http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view=Modules.Detail&id=3868
  16. I just downloaded and played this demo through. First off, it's based on the Silent Storm engine, but unlike Hammer and Sickle, they've completely redone the interface to fit an RPG. It's...interesting. I've never heard of this Night Watch universe, although I guess it's some sort of comic world. It seems kinda hokey that I use flashlights and lightbulbs to fight, but there are a couple very cool things in the game. I actually really enjoyed what they did to the engine. It's much more efficient as an RPG style game now, but the turn based combat and graphics are still awesome. It's worth a try. http://www.fileplanet.com/159874/150000/fi...ight-Watch-Demo
  17. Wow, Gabrielle really has no clue what she's talking about. The free user made mods for NWN are huge. A few are better than SoU and HoU, like the Dreamctacher and Lone Wolf series, while some are filled with great comedy, like the Penultima series. Not to mention, there are free mmo style worlds to download and free mods designed for small groups. I'm sure the ones they sell are nice, but seriously, you are so uninformed in this thread, it's quite embarrasing.
  18. I don't think we need to do spoilers here. I avoid the topic until I've watched the show, as all people should do. Just seems like common sense. My opinion of the cloud is that it shows you your greatest fears. Eko wasn't freaked out because he had come to term with his. Locke had no trouble the first time he saw the cloud, but I bet he saw the dead brother in the cloud on the second time, and it freaked him out. Just a guess. The next episode looks serious. I feel bad for Charlie.
  19. I'm pretty sure there are more WoW fans here than there are FPS fans. So what's your point?
  20. 75 planes? There's some realism for you. There are very few mindless shooter fans here, so you might want to check a different forum.
  21. What the hell? Apple just figured out how to make a computer that is actually good. This is scary. They've made horrible decisions for decades... Seriously, with Intel processors, these computers might actually be effective gaming machines. Combine that with the sick monitors they have, and I suddenly have trouble hating mac's. I'm seriously eyeing the laptops...if I had $2,500 to kill. It also looks like Safari is way better than every other browser. I'm scared...Apple seems to be taking over the entire world of entertainment.
  22. I used to get interference from my cell phone as well. If I had it behind my little subwoofer, it caused all sorts of static. Also, speaker placement was an issue. It doesn't sound like that's your problem, but it's an easy check.
  23. Thornton got tossed 5 minutes into his return to Boston...I only heard it on the radio so I have no clue if it's a bad hit. Still, Sharks are thumping them anyways.
  24. Some creepy stuff going on here...
  25. Well, the US is bound to have plenty of bizarre laws...it's a huge country made up of a ton of states, and in each state you have counties, and in each county you have cities and towns. On each level you have people who are responsible for legislation. Not all of these people are geniuses. The amazing thing is it's one of the best systems out there. Take any country with a comparable amount of land and population, and they don't stack up.
