That's why I'm thinking Grier might find a place on the Top Scoring Line of Hockey. He's big enough to make some space, and Thornton doesn't need much to make the pass. It will be interesting to see anyways. Chances are he'll play with Goc and Neimenen on the checking line. That sounds like a pesky line to play against.

I'm starting to see the wisdom in Edmonton's move. Those draft picks are pretty serious. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=170411&hubname=nhl Thank heavens San Jose finally made a decent move. I've always liked Grier. He might end up playing with Thornton and Cheechoo, although I wouldn't be surprised if the Sharks still sign a more offensive minded guy for that role. Finally, something for me to get excited about. edit: Hehe, Kor beat me to it.
  3. Hey all, I need a good fake news source. I'm doing a workshop on unreliable sources. It would be great if it was on religion in some aspect. I've already pulled something from the Onion, but I also need something that would likely fool a group of middle schoolers, and would be age appropriate. If you can think of any, I'd really appreciate a link. Thanks!
  4. Yes, watching little Sim characters eat, sleep, and pee is much less silly than sports management games.
  5. Games in general are silly.
  6. I would say most licensed games from movies suck, but some of the best games I've played came from licensed products. Heck, every D&D game is coming from a license. Now "Chronicles of Riddick: Butcher Bay" is largely regarded as on of the best uses for a movie license, so that alone will keep me interested in their next game.
  7. Your posts are seriously hard to read. Why do you use the ellipsis after every sentence? Do you understand the importance of writing skills within a professional environment? http://www.englishplus.com/grammar/00000138.htm
  8. It was a horrible mistake on Microsoft's part to split the userbase. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree, although isn't Sony doing the same thing?
  9. I totally misread the topic here. Basically missed an n and an e.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=170401&hubname=nhl What the hell? Anaheim? Geez, you think Edmonton would at least move him out of the conference. This sucks for me.
  11. "Exclusive great games"? I don't think a game needs to be exclusive to make the system worth buying. For example, if a great game comes out on the PS2, the Xbox, and the 360, chances are I'll be happiest playing it on the shiny 360. That makes the system worth it in my eyes. In fact, I think exclusivity is lame.
  12. That's nice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Why bother even posting that? You realised you were wrong, why not just admit it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree with 10k fists. He's sharing his opinion. It's not wrong. If anything, you are nitpicking his posts to win some contest. His point seems to be that it's much cheaper trying out demos over Xbox live than renting games from Blockbuster. While the comparison isn't perfect, it's not worth busting someone's balls over. Chill out.
  13. Huh...mine has a stiker that says "Bonus Media Remote - Limited Time only" Sorry you didn't get one Bok.
  14. The bigger companies sometimes hire from temp. firms. That means when the game is done, you are out the door. It's pretty much an unskilled labor position.
  15. I just watched "Grandma's Boy" Now I must admit, I went in expecting very little. I thought it might be worth a few laughs. I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was like a Cheech and Chong movie for gamers. The whole plot revolves around a group of game testers. It was fairly realistic, although the game testers were treated way better than they are in reality. It wasn't that far from the mark in many ways. I'll go ahead and recommend it to any gamers out there. Don't go in expecting high art, but it is worth a few laughs.
  16. I've been trying really hard to like ToEE. I just hit level 5 and I'm starting to feel like a decent adventuring party. The combat really is amazing. It's a good diversion if I ignore all the plot holes and completely unfinished feel.
  17. Right, because I'm just imagining all the images on my TV screen. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I own one, and I agree with Dark Raven. Times they are a changin' though. Like every console, the second year is when we get the flood of titles.
  18. He seems pretty real to me...and firmly planted in reality. Conspiracy theories are just ideas that people use when the truth is too simple. But that doesn't change the truth.
  19. Damn, I just deleted NWN a few days ago too. I figured with the sequel around the corner, I wouldn't need it anymore. Now I'm really jonesin'.

Geez, teams are wasting no time in signing players. I'm hoping San Jose inks Samsonov.

This really is the year of the defenseman. San Jose signed Curtis Brown. At first I frowned at this, since he was a bump on the Blackhawk log last season. But San Jose was super weak on faceoffs this last season. Brown is a face off specialist. Hopefully he'll get the rest of our centers on the right track. He probably won't get much ice time other than taking faceoffs.

Really? I haven't seen him play much, but I got the impression he could play wing as well. Huh, I don't know where I got that idea. There are still a ton of players out there, though. I'm guessing we'll see more movement this weekend.

I'm seriously being shocked by just about every signing. This is a total free-for-all. I though Jovo was definitely going to Florida, and I'm shocked that Boston was able to pull two huge talents. Looks like Toronto is busy as well. San Jose better gobble up at least one player. You'd think the opportunity to play with Thornton and Cheechoo would be good enough to attract a talented winger. I was hoping for Savard myself.
  24. The premium version is completely worth the extra moola. As 10k fist said, the HD is solid gold. The wireless controller, DVD remote, and headset are all worth over $100. And memory cards aren't cheap, so it's really pointless not to spring for the whole package.
  25. There are quite a few schools popping up with the programs you are looking for. I'd imagine speaking to the university about your goals is your best bet. If they aren't taking the animation industry seriously, then they are a bad university. One great thing you can start doing as an animator is creating an online portfolio. Just add to it over the years so when you graduate you have a great resume. How comfortable are you with your art skills?
