When is comes to hockey movies, I prefer "Mystery, Alaska". Miracle is number two, Slapshot is three, and then Youngblood. Although I should watch Youngblood again, it might move up the list.

Wow, surprised at all the doomsayers here. This is phenomenal news compared to what was going to happen to the JA series. First off, Nival is one of the only decent Russian publishers that has released playable games in the US (Akella is the only other off the top of my head.) They developed an engine capable of handling turn based combat in a 3D world, and they've used it very succesfully in games like Silent Storm, Heroes of Might and Magic, Hammer and Sickle, and Night Watch. I've played every one of these games, and while they aren't perfect, they are all very playable and feature excellent turn based battles. People seem upset about the lack of militia training and economics. I can see that, but they also stated that all the RPG and combat aspects will be the same, and those are the core of JA. Nival will also be working closely with Strategy First. A few months ago that would have meant nothing, but after SF pulled the plug on MistLand, my opinion of them skyrocketed. They showed a ballsiness I though was long dead and made a decision to save the JA license from butchers. Oh yeah, Silent Storm never had Starforce, although Hammer and Sickle did. But that's old news, as Starforce has been thoroughly abandonded by the industry. My inner fanboy is extremely excited about this announcement. JA3 doesn't need to be as good as JA2, that's unrealistic, but if it's as good as Silent Storm, I'll be satisfied.

Since Wals asked for an update, the trip went very well. It was storming pretty good on the trip up. I had chains just in case, but it wasn't mandatory so I decided to keep on going without them on. The auto 4-wheel drive is interesting, I never really feel like it kicked in, but I also never felt the car slipping at all. There were times where we couldn't see the road through the snow cover, so I'm assuming the 4 wheel drive was working. I'd recommend the car. Heck, it was our mechanic that told us to get it, so that speaks a good deal too. Oh, the snow was good and I got in a nice day of boarding

I agree with you. The most fun I've had with GoW was when my Brother-in-law came over and we played a bit of co-op. Maybe we should try to get together and play co-op, because I've found the single player campaign utterly boring on my own. The multiplayer also just doesn't pull me in like Battlefield games. I've enjoyed Dead Rising a heck of a lot more, and Spliner Cell: Double Agent seems promising.

7 million is the key there. That's an insane number. No one comes close to that, so every MMO will now be compared to WoW simply because WoW is on top by an insane amount. No other game comes close to those numbers. Before WoW, every MMO was compared to EQ because that was the most succesful. It didn't matter that Meridian 59 came first. That's just the way the industry works. You can argue quality all day, but the only real indication of success is raw sales figures. Quality is just your opinion.

My wife and I just bought a 2007 Honda CR-V today. It took like 6 hours at the dealership, but I think we got a pretty decent deal. Now we are taking it to Tahoe to see how it handles in the snow. It's 4-wheel drive, but there is no switch, it's supposed to kick in only when needed. Odd, I guess I'll probably find out how it works tomorrow.

Yeah, it's pretty fun to think about how people would react towards your death. It may seem morbid, but I like to think that there will be a good amount of mourning.

I only think about killing myself when I'm being lazy. Like "Man, I don't want to go into work right now, if I drive my car off that cliff, I'll totally get out of it." But then I realize that my chances of survival are too great, and I don't deal well with pain.

He was 73, which is a pretty solid age for a guy that lived a life like his. I read in the newspaper he got pneumonia and passed away rather quickly...and they said they haven't determined the cause of his death. What is that? He was 73 and he got pneumonia, it seems pretty clear he died because he was old.

Let's see, the Xmas binge brought me BF2142, Dead Rising, and Splinter Cell: Double Agent. I'm trying to run BF2142 now. I played Dead Rising for a bit, but it's still dark out and I was getting scared.

Actually carnal knowledge isn't too bad as long as you ask for forgiveness. The problem with suicide is that you can't go through confession if you do it right. Unless you end up a zombie, but that's an entirely different thread. So thumbs up for the sleeping around and such.

In case o Zombie attack, I'm supposed to follow the train tracks until I get close to my Mother-in-laws house. She runs a trucking company, and we can use the property as a compound. We have dirt bikes that will be used to pick up family members along the tracks, and weapons stored at the house. I really hope for a "Night of the Living Dead" style zombie attack, rather than a "30 days" style.

I'm not doubting your source, but when I compare their translations with the ones I have in my handy dandy English translation of the Qu'ran, I'm getting a vastly different story. Maybe I'm not reading it right, I'm no religious scholar.

I doubt that, more because the scale of this game seems relatively small than any programming talent. Unless this one guy was responsible for all the coding at Troika, I don't think he deserves being labelled yet.

There is nothing in the basic tenants of Christianity or Islam that promotes violence in any way. You can't find a passage in the Qu'ran that says it's alright to kill non-believers. The Bible is the same way. They are good books, and they are about living a good life. The lessons within the pages are about charity, prayer, and faith. The problem with religions in general has to do with leadership. Both Christianity and Islam have had leaders that call for violence in the name of their religion. When you actually compare the religions side by side, it's amazing how similiar they are and how similiar their struggles have been. Everyone acts like Christianity is so peaceful, but in actuality it's just had more time to work out its differences. Islam is a younger gospel, but the violence between Shi'ites and Sunni's is very reminiscent of violence between Protestants and Catholics. It lasted for hundreds of years in Europe.

Is this question for the developers? I doubt they know at this point. They haven't even officially announced a new title, and you won't see NWN2 or KotOR2 on the PS3.

Turn-based, excellent. Looks like it's a long ways off, but I'll keep an eye on it.

Hmm...the only part I like is the fact that we'll be playing every team at least once a season. I'm not a big fan of the current schedule.

I'm a big fan of separation of church and state, but I'm also very respectful of the symbolic nature that any holy book, whether it's the bible, torah, or Qur'an, has in our society. I expect my elected officials to respect the nature of those books whether they believe in God or not. Those books aren't just about religion, they are a foundation for living a humble and charitable life.

All in all, I'd say the third is my favorite. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Someone should tell that guy that Quadrilogy isn't really the proper term, tetralogy refers to four related works. I've seen it used before in the media, and it's always bugged me. Taking the word trilogy and slapping a quad in place of the T is bad latin.

The only communities I've found that didn't have a good chunk of lamers are closed ones on NWN. The great thing is that in most of these games, turning off general chat is not that difficult. Cantousent is right about the fact that the people you play with make the game. I played Lineage 2 for awhile simply because I had a good guild, even though the game had lost its magic for me.

Diablo is not a free online game. You pay $50 for the product. That helps to guarantee the quality of the product, even if the player base is terrible. I'm not sure about Silk Road, but I'm usually disappointed by free games. Of course, I compare them to WoW, and that's a bad idea.
