  1. No thanks, I like being able to sleep at night.
  2. We used to get a Round Table personal pizza whenever the Sharks scored 4 goals (you had to show a ticket for the game.) But then the Sharks becaame a decent team and they killed that promotion. No way am I taking a free taco from anyone wearing Dodger blue!
  3. American Democracy is at its best at the local level. Everyone kind of seems to overlook the fact that voters have way more purchase and influence at the local level, and the reality is that is the stuff that tends to affect your day to day life. Then we have a bit more messiness at the State level, and then it gets crazy at the Federal level. Honestly these federal elections are really just slightly more important than which sports team wins the National title. Sure, I love when my team wins. It makes me happy. It might even be good for the local economy where that team is from. But yeah, it's not that important because a new season is just around the corner, and your star player was probably doping all year long anyways. I may have lost track of my metaphor...
  4. Yeah, they had a teaser at the end of the run. I think I like my documentaries to wrap up a bit more timely than this thing. But it is still a pretty good watch.
  5. QFG Breakdown: QFG1 - Spielburg is a Medieval Hamlet in the mountains. QFG2 - Arabian Nights Theme in the Desert QFG3 - Sub-Saharan African Theme QFG4 - Transylvania Theme QFG5 - Greek? I don't know, it wasn't the same as the others.
  6. Dreamland Chronicles was the real cancelled Xcom game. Blizzard had another MMO in development that became Overwatch. I would have liked to see that. This whole crowdfunding age has really given me one more crack at the favorites. Lori and Corey Cole got to make a decent Quest for Glory type game and Julian Gollop got to make a decent Xcom type game. Now I just need Ian Currie to make a decent Jagged Alliance type game.
  7. The Vow has been a fascinating look at cults, but I am worried the final episode is not going to answer all the questions I still have.
  8. There is a VGA version of Quest for Glory. I assume your Steam collection should have it. Great game!
  9. I tried to change a tire on our old truck that just mysteriously exploded (it was old, and the side walls basically just blew out.) Getting the spare to drop from underneath the back was the first issue. I needed a special tool. I assumed I needed a traditional long tire iron, but all I had was a cross iron. Then I tried to loosen up the lug nuts and failed miserably. After about an hour of messing with it, I gave up and called roadside service. Funny part is the guy shows up and doesn't have a tire iron. So we dig around in my truck a bit and find this weird tool for dropping the spare. It was under the passenger seats, and I'd been digging in the tool boxes. Doh! Then he loosened the lug nuts up, changed the tire in about 5 minutes, and confiscated my man card.
  10. I did an 80-mile ride for Diabetes. Our team raised $30k for the ADA. It was a good day.
  11. Who do you really think this matters to, though? It would seem to just reinforce Trump's supporters beliefs, but I don't see how it sways anyone after all the investigations that Trump has been involved in. You really think one guy is worse than the other here? I lost faith in the power of the last minute exposure stuff after Trump skated away from the kitty grabbing tapes.
  12. I thought this was a pretty solid breakdown of the progress Trump has made, whether you agree with the changes or not: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-37982000
  13. Twitter should just ban all politicians. Or anyone that talks about politics. This might be why I don't run a social media company.
  14. Because it is catchier than Fallout with swords? Because it is more current than calling it an Ultima Underworld clone?
  15. I finished Wasteland 3. It was a good game. For the most part, the choice and consequence aspect is on par with Obsidian, and I consider them the best in the business. The story was entertaining. I thought the side quests in particular were well done, and there was a good cast of characters to get to know. Combat was entertaining enough, and I loved the mix of weaponry, but I did feel there was way too much of it. I mean, there really seemed to be little value placed on human life in this universe. It was a solid follow up on Wasteland 2 and I enjoyed the continuation of the Desert Ranger storyline. I imagine the Great Plains will be the setting for Wasteland 4.
  16. To be fair, this sounds like one horrible doctor at work here, rather than institutional policies. But then again, ICE has shown to be tremendously inept. Given the frequency and seriousness of all the human rights violations they are getting hit with, it is hard to see them as anything less than criminally negligent.
  17. I had a parade of about 8 vehicles loop around my block for the last hour+ honking and waving Trump flags. Oddly enough we had a number of BLM and Anti-ICE protests in the summer that went by our house, and they were much quieter. There was some chanting, but no loud trucks laying on the horns. Ah well, to each their own. I'm not sure why anyone would spend so much energy celebrating a politician myself, I guarantee they aren't returning the favor.
  18. You are talking about me, aren't you. I plan on going back to Phoenix Point one day! It contains the true spirit of Christmas, er, Xcom.
  19. Heh, I have The Witcher 3 sitting in my queue for the exact same reason. Granted it also took me a couple years to finally commit to playing TW2. I also find The Witcher universe to be pretty depressing, and I need to be in a certain mood to get into it. I'm plodding through Wasteland 3, which is also a depressing world to live in. There is some fun absurd humor that makes it a bit easier to overlook the darker moments, but I hope I am nearing the end. It is pretty combat heavy, but that might be because everyone is terrible and I'm not a fan of just letting them off the hook for cannibalism and slavery.
  20. My toe looks bad but feels fine, so I have been running regularly. In the mornings I try and get the kids out for a couple laps around the block. It is less than a mile amd takes about 6-7 minutes. Today was filled with me yelling and them crying.
  21. You're right, I did. Sometimes, when faced with a bunch of people disagreeing with me, I adjust my own opinion and approach instead of just digging in. It's rare, I know.
  22. That's terrible, but Antifa has been breaking windows and stuff, so you need to make sure to condemn them as well.
