Piracy existed before DRM, so it is ridiculous the blame piracy on DRM.

Nah, he just got sent off the ice at the end of the 2nd because of a fighting major with less than 5 minutes left. There were three fights in the last five minutes of the period there.

Well, if you want to put 200,000 miles on the thing without any major problems, go with a Honda or a Toyota. My mechanic told me those were my choices. I drive about 25,000 miles a year, so I wanted something extremely reliable. But there are fantastic deals out there right now, new or used.

I saw an Edmonton player cover up the puck in the crease, but I think he ref had already blown his whistle. Fun game though. I also thought Lemiuex was going to score at one point.

I was really disappointed that the mod community for Silent Storm never took off. The game engine really is a remarkable step forward for TB tactical combat. It just needed more personality and less mechs to be perfect, whi9ch I think a good mod team could pull off.

Very chippy game between the Sharks and the Oilers tonight. Patty Marleau is looking to bury 50 this year.

I bought a car. I was planning on waiting a year, but I'm a sucker for a good deal. Man, the dealership was really dead. It's a Honda Accord 09. I'm pretty much in shock, although not as much as when I bought the RV.

It seems like most of the recent comedies have had a short clip of the male ****. As long as it isn't a sexual, it's just an R.

Honestly all this raid and end game talk has got to be a total turn off for Crashgirl. He is looking to play casually for a few hours a week, he's not going to be anywhere near the end game content for a long time.

This Pirate Bay prosecution is fantastic, hopefully they get a nice bit of jail time and we'll see a bit of a curtailing of the folks who think they have some God given right to rip off other people's hard work.

Second Sight - Interesting action/adventure game I got on Gametap. Seems like a fun amnesia/psych ward patient story.

Gotta be ready for angry squatters and the like.

A good couple questions to ask also is: Do you like to blow stuff up? Do you like to sneak past stuff? Do you like to survive battles for long periods of time? Figure out what you like best, and you'll be able to figure out a class.

I agree with Moatilliatta, just choose what you think is fun. It will greatly increase the chances of you getting all annoyed by the treadmill effect of MMO's. I played WoW for two years and never got anywhere near raids or battlegrounds. It didn't appeal to me, and there was plenty else to do.

Yeah Silent Storm is great... until the mechs show up. They are still making a "real" JA3 IIRC. Currently JA3 is in legal limbo, Strategy First is sueing the developer or vice versa. I've heard a few things about Hired Guns over at the Bears Pit. It sounds like the tactical combat is decent, but the game itself is pretty lacking.

I can agree with that. Fallout 3 is also the closest they have come to bringing it together, but it's not perfect. But there is some comfort in knowing that Fallout 4 will be a solid construction, even if it might not be inspired art.

The love letter twist with that guy was a nice touch.

One of the greatest things about WoW is there are multiple starter areas and they are all fairly nifty, so I recommend just trying a bunch of different classes until you find one that sucks you in. There are 6 starter areas in the vanilla game and 8 with Burning Crusade, so there is a lot of beginner content to play with.

A job is a job. And a game is a game.

There is very little RP on the RP server. You will run across small pockets of people trying to play in character, but most of the time people are killing stuff and doing quests. The biggest deal with RP servers is that naming conventions are enforced. You won't see Le6ollas or leetdewd or fartman. There are always a few emo folks that make you want to vomit if you happen by their roleplay session, but they are easy to avoid for the most part, much more than the middle schoolers who populate many of the PvE and PvP servers. But really every server is like a separate city and there are going to be good and bad things about them all. It's a roll of the dice. If you know someone else who is interested in playing and starting a new character with you, it can be a lot of fun.

Psh, Nightshape almost took a job on Age of Conan, which is a little too focused on being the first MMO with real nipples to make it superior to WoW.
-
I recommend RP servers, not because you can expect people to pretend to be night elves, but because the player base tends to be a bit more mature and there are less 12 year old's on them. I played on Argent Dawn for about 2 years. You can transfer characters to certain servers, but I believe there is a cost involved. Something like $50, but I could be wrong. It's not really necessary unless you find out you have friends playing on a different server. There are literally thousands on each server, so you are likely to find a few folks that you get along with regardless of your server choice. You can create new characters on whatever server you want. PvP and PvE are really two very different games. It's like a coop game and a deathmatch game, it just depends on what you want. I tended to play PvE primarily but when I was in the mood to mix it up, I'd jump to a PvE server. The real question you should ask is Horde or Alliance edit: If you are just looking for an MMO, you should come play LotR Online with me. I'll show you around, it's fantastic and beautiful.

What kind of future settings is Obsidian planning?
Hurlshort replied to Winterwolf's topic in Obsidian General
I'm pretty sure a wiki article isn't the best way to learn about a classic RPG property that has been built up over the last twenty or thirty years. But hey, Tolkien roots mean you are a superior fantasy geek, woohoo. -
Ah, Calgary, I had forgotten that. They did retire his jersey. So the Blues have had Stevens, Macinnis, and Pronger (not at the same time of course.) That's a pretty nice group. Too bad Barrett Jackman seems to have fallen off the map. I was a big Jeff Brown fan in one of my NHL hockey games too!

Shanahan's statistics for the last three seasons: 05-06 - 40 goals, 41 assists, 81 points 06-07 - 29 goals, 33 assists, 62 points 07-08 - 23 goals, 23 assists, 46 points Currently he has 5 points in 10 games. Obviously there is a decline there, but 23 goals is still a very solid contribution. Since Volo brought up the playoffs, he had 12 points in 20 games over the last two years for the Rangers. I really don't understand the Shanahan hate you seem to have, he's a future Hall of Famer and considering the life span of most Power Forwards in the NHL, it's pretty amazing he's still playing and lighting the lamp. Obviously his physical game is less prevalent, but that is the price of aging. I was a little young and not quite a hockey fan when Oates was in St. Louis, so I've always though of him as a Bruin first. Stevens for Shanny is a funny trade-off. Would Stevens have had the same career that he had for the Devils if he stayed in St. Louis? On the other hand, St. Louis seems to be a super talented D-man factory! Was Macinnis a St. Louis product?
