  1. Yeah, I remember it. It was lame, they basically said "this is a good game, but the adventure game genre is dead, so we aren't going to finish it." I was bummed.
  2. I think a Warcraft adventure game would be better. You could play as a young Thrall trying to liberate your people from slavery.
  3. I don't know, if a terrorist group came on TV and said they blew up New York, when they actually failed and did no such thing, it would be a bit humorous.
  4. Yeah, the robots are fun. If I play it again, I'll take the trait that gets the robots to help you out.
  5. Don't forget that if you have a Netflix subscription and Xbox Live, you can stream over 10,000 movies on your TV through the 360. That is the one thing I miss the most.
  6. I'm about $90,000 underwater on my home, and it's too small to accommodate my growing family. But we have our jobs and can pay the mortgage, so I'm not too bad off.
  7. I heard the rocket ended up in the sea, but the N. Koreans are claiming it is in space broadcasting. It's pretty hard not to laugh about this stuff.
  8. Discrimination against gay people doesn't fit a party line or a religious doctrine, or even a state stereotype.
  9. I do think the 360 is an inferior piece of hardware. But Xbox Live is light years ahead of Sony Home. Microsoft = good software Sony = good hardware
  10. Went and saw The Watchmen. It was watchable. I thought it was good, but I think I realized I have very little interest in alternate history stuff. I think real history is interesting enough.
  11. I own both the PS3 and the Wii, and I owned the PS2 back in the day. PS3 is great for single player experiences. Wii is great for multiple people in the same room experiences. That's really all there is to it. They aren't remotely alike.
  12. I think they just decided to take Cricket and make it into a game that doesn't last three days and makes actual sense.
  13. I used to play on an NWN PW server with permadeath. It was slow going in terms of level, my first few characters didn't get past level 2. But I settled on a fun Priest o' Tempus that lived the charmed life. I had him for over a year. One day I was traveling along The Long Road and I happened upon a group of Gnolls. I ripped through them with my trusty axe easily. Then I noticed a camp in the distance. Sure, I was alone, but I was level 5, a hero among men. So I carved up the camp. Then I noticed a cave. I went in and started dealing out the hammer of justice, when a rather large Gnoll rushed in. In he back of m mind I thought "Hmm, maybe I'm pressing my luck" but I was just enjoying the carnage too much. Sure enough, the large Gnoll hit me hard with a critical hit. I lay there bleeding out in a dirty gnoll cave. My body temperature shot through the roof when I realized my year old character just died completely alone to Gnoll.
  14. Since Gfted1 is so curious... But none of this accounts for the fact that there is a legal loophole for a straight couple here. They can get married and apply for a green card whether the spouse is in the country illegally or not, and they have a very good chance of success. This couple wasn't even given the option to get married until recently, and it doesn't even count on a federal level. The system is broken.

That looks good, I put it on my list.
  16. Which soccer game is that? Burn. Kelverin, I bought the PS3 almost strictly for MLB '09. I was sure I would regret it, but it turned out to be simply sublime. It isn't just the best baseball game ever, it's the best sports game I've played. I'm a huge hockey fan and I've always enjoyed playing football games, but this is just the most fantastic sports game I've ever played. It has so many layers.
  17. Until recently, that marriage wasnt even legal in California (and is now again illegal). So I suppose shes "only" had 24 years of skirting the law. She was married in '04, when it was legal. Currently that marriage is valid, the court case is not over on whether they will be invalidated. It seems like a few people are failing to see the forest through the trees here. I'm not an immigration lawyer, but does the system really need to split up families like this? Is that what all our laws are for, to drive out people that have made a life here? She hasn't been living here for 24 years illegally either. She had a pending case, it was recently denied, and that is why she is being deported now and not earlier.
  18. Any immigrant can get a green card by marrying a citizen. You sure about that? http://greencard-marriage.com/ According to that guy it is. I'm sure it's not as easy as saying I do and then getting a green card in the mail, but the process for a spouse of a US citizen to get it is a heck of a lot less complicated and time consuming then someone who is not married. She was in the process, she had been in the process for years, and the government decided that her case for citizenship wasn't good enough. That doesn't happen to people who are recognized by the Federal government as a married couple.
  19. How is she skirting the law? Any immigrant can get a green card by marrying a citizen. She has an established relationship with this women, including two children. They are married within the state of California for the time being, but the Federal government refuses to recognize that. Here's the story: http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=n...&id=6742854 Currently they have delayed the deportation order, since the public outcry as been pretty heavy. Still, it's messed up that it even comes to this. edit: It was the Philippines, not Cambodia
  20. I read an extremely sad story this week about a couple who had been together for 25 years. They have two children together. One was a US citizen and the other is from Cambodia, I believe. Normally, these two people would get married and everything would be fine, but because the federal government does not recognize same sex marriages, the Cambodian woman is facing deportation. What an absolutely ridiculous system. Some horny guy can order a Russian bride and he will have less problems getting citizenship then a couple that have been together for 25 years and raised two teenage boys.
  21. Some of the classes in the expansions look fantastic. I made the big leagues! My first game as a Giant was against the San Diego Padres. I was pretty nervous, but I had a good Spring Training Camp and I had been working on my power hitting. I stepped up to the plate for my first major league pitch and... BOOM! I took it out of the park! Fantastic timing. I've only averaged about 10 homers in my first two seasons in the minors, so it was a really beg deal. The game went forever, it was 7-7 until the 18th inning, when we managed to pull out a 9-7 lead and win it. I went 4-8 at the plate, with 2 RBI's. I was also hit by a pitch and went down on strikes once. It was epic. If every game is like this, my heart may give out.
  22. There was very little logic involved with EA and their decision to cancel UO2. They are now way behind in the genre and are struggling to find a way in. Blizzard is run much more efficiently. But it probably isn't another MMO because they already have an unannounced MMO in the works.
  23. I'm not sure I know what you're talking about. Romances have been part of adventure games since King's Quest 2. Hmm, I will say that romances in adventure games are usually handled more delicately. They are there, but for some reason they have always felt less jarring. Perhaps because they simply exist in the storyline, it isn't something you are trying to awkwardly influence. I can't think of any adventure game where you have a choice in pursuing the romance. It's just a natural part of the story that is being told.
  24. Steam really enables impulse buying.

Yeah, I think that's why people are so afraid to celebrate the accomplishment. But the Sharks are plenty capable of losing in the playoffs whether they win it or not, so I figure why not celebrate it?
