The only anti-prop 8 ads I saw were Diane Fienstein and the State School Superintendent pointing out that it is discrimination and the pro-8 ads were outright lies.
  2. I like to buy those ravioli or tortellini packages where all you have to do is cook them. Then I throw on a good sauce and I've got the main course down. For veggies, my favorite is asparagus. Put them on a cookie sheet, drizzle olive oil, freshly ground salt and pepper over it, then bake them for about 15 minutes at 350 degrees. They taste fantastic. That's a whole meal for my family, although a loaf of french bread would be a good finish.
  3. Actually I think it would have been fantastic if this was a game aimed at a younger audience. Very few developers are tackling family friendly software, and the ones that are focus solely on that. Sierra used to release stellar games that could really entertain both adults and children, and I think that is missing from today's marketplace. But hey, it's canceled, so there ya go.
  4. Taken - Very solid film. The ending was a bit meh, but overall it was Liam Neeson being a badass probably my favorite role since Rob Roy.
  5. I'm too lazy to dig out any pics of my old helms, but this thread has some screenshots of truly disgusting looking hat wear. http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/post/2392127#2392127 So yeah, I guess I mean the helmet isn't horrible in comparison to everything else. I'm keeping my fashion bar low. The giant handle on my back is the handle for my second age axe. It is monstrous. But I usually sport a halberd, so I've always got some odd handle jutting 5 feet out of my back. I don't mind the look, and the weapon levels right along side with me. As it levels, I can increase certain stats and put in gems and runes.
  6. What, in your dreams? You sound like a 12 year old. I understand you are fairly new, but that was pretty transparent humor. You might want to have a doctor examine that funny bone.
  7. Finally got a helmet that doesn't look terrible Shot at 2009-05-30 The forging of Aragorn's blade... Shot at 2009-05-30 Argh mateys Shot at 2009-05-30
  8. I don't have a problem with MMO's dropping the monthly fee. I just think it's less feasible for games not named WoW. I really think a company like Turbine and Mythic are relying heavily on those subscription fees to stay financially viable. I will probably give the next Guild Wars a try, I enjoyed the original. I have a fairly small complaint about it compared to other MMO's, and that is simply the fact that when I'm out in a hot spot, I will never run across another player or adventuring group. That is by far my favorite part of MMO's, the random encounters with other players on the field of battle. I definitely don't save any money playing MMO's. I buy way too many games. MMO's are also the primary reason I pay for the internet. I used to actually just rely on the internet at work and used the PC at home strictly for single player games and typing reports. It's really just a matter of tastes. I understand all the reason's that people dislike MMO's, but I personally find them extremely engaging. They've also managed to really tap into the casual gamer market like no other genre.
  9. I think you will be much happier if you just accept the fact you look for something different in your games then the majority of reviewers, and based on the sales numbers, a large number of gamers.
  10. Why on earth would you do that? The PSP is nice to look at, but that's like exchanging a dollar bill for 2 quarters.
  11. Just finished Season 6 of the Shield. Season 7 comes out soon, and I think that's the last. Pretty fantastic series,a lthough Season 6 was a bit mellow, I guess it's setting up for the storm.
  12. Wouldn't that be the un-alone wolf?
  13. It looks more like a shooter than an action-RPG. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
  14. Your family has a largess? Sweet! This university question comes up a lot in my area, since we have the rather famous Stanford nearby. But being the Silicon Valley, the engineering department at San Jose State is pretty dang reputable. So you have a lot of posturing between engineers who went to Stanford and those who went to SJSU.

I'm not really sure where steroids would help a player like Ovechkin, to be honest. That's always been the rub in Basketball and hockey, the benefits of 'roids are fairly negligible in a sport where strength conditioning is only one aspect of training.

It would explain his horrific acne.
  17. Well, it is a game, and not a very realistic one at that. Most of the settlements didn't make much logical sense.
  18. I don't get the Little Lamplight hate. I didn't spend much time in there, but it seems like some of you have serious repressed anger towards children. It's not healthy.

I actually never heard of the Fallout Bible before I read this thread.
  20. I never got too far into either Far Cry or Crysis, but I just thought Far Cry had more personality in it. So did Far Cry 2, for that matter.
  21. Hmm, looked it up, and that seems to be true. They also seem to be offering a more persistent world, rather than just giant chat rooms and small group instances. Should be interesting.
  22. FDR had plenty of detractors during his time. History has looked back on him favorably, but he was almost as controversial as Lincoln.
  23. Yeah...she wants a Macbook now. I told her "not in my household!" But then I relented. I told her she's going to have to come up with her own money for it though, I'm not dropping $1200 for a laptop unless it can run the best games at the highest settings. I'll probably cover half.
  24. I'm thinking about picking that up...I was hoping it would be like Crackdown.
  25. But these are businesses, they do expect to turn a profit. Companies only lower prices if it is a market necessity. They aren't going to lower it just because they sell like gangbusters. And Blizzard has taken some of those profits and expanded tremendously, so it's not like they are just swimming around in a big vault of gold. They've released huge content patches for free fairly regularly. I actually dislike the EQ2 model more, they release a full price expansion every 6 months, AND you still pay $15 a month. LotR Online is my favorite, they pretty much release new content every 3-6 months regularly, and I'm only paying $10 a month. It never feels like I'm getting ripped off, the new content re-energizes me every time.
