The salary thing really depends on what you make. I wasn't making much when I got engaged, so I'd say two months is close to what I spent. I also didn't have anywhere near the bills or debt. I've never understood the need to bash WoW. It's a fantastic game and that is why it is a success. It doesn't have to be everyone's cup of tea.

Hmm, I don't know much about Let's Play threads, but I think it needs to be more structured. Like you present us with two or three options, we vote, and then you move forward. But it does take a long time to move forward, particularly in a game as complex as JA2.

I had a couple people come by to give an estimate for cleaning out my 2 bedroom condo before the renter comes in, but they all want $300-400! I think that's crazy, I'll just rent a carpet shampooer and clean everything myself. I think for our tiny place, without furniture, a more reasonable price would be $150-200.

Do you have any evidence to support this? While it is true that most people only play 1 or 2 MMO's at a time, we have no idea what audience ceiling is. It is a genre that continues to grow at a very healthy rate. More titles are added every year and yet they continue to pull in subscribers without crippling older games. I've yet to see a quality MMO go belly up, and I've seen quite a few mediocre ones survive longer than expected. It's much more likely that the game will die in the development stage than choke once it is released.

CCP is hopefully setting their expectations realistically. They are the developers of Eve Online, so they know how to take a smaller subscription base and make a successful product. I really doubt they are looking at challenging Blizzard for sales. I imagine they will compete with the Secret World MMO more than either Blizzard or Bioware. Why do I keep reading statements that make the MMO genre seem like a winner take all deathmatch?

If you read the story, it would have been a tough case to win in court for a DA. The only card the DA had is the elevated blood alcohol level, and .126 is not something that will get you a long jail time unless you have a history. Huh, wadda you know. @Hurlshot: Are you somehow affiliated with that developer? Nope, just interested in the game, and Harlequin was looking for a newshound so I volunteered. So far it's been pretty quiet, but I think the site will pick up a lot with the official announcement.

A couple guys on my hockey team mentioned that Pronger got traded to the Kings for Jack Johnson, but I don't see it anywhere in the news.

I didn't read through all the posts, but right now I'm playing Mount & Blade, which is fairly inferior in the graphics department. But I'm loving the gameplay! I believe it has also managed some success from a business standpoint, but I don't have any numbers to back that up. Braid is different, it is purposefully stylized to look like that. AoC and M&B would both probably be happy to look a lot better if given the chance.

I got into Mount & Blade for the first time. It really is awesome, I don't know why it took me so long to give it a try.

There was a solid Bladerunner Adventure game about 10 years ago. I think there is a Stargate MMO in the works too, in fact I think it's due out this year. It doesn't look promising though.

It would be awesome if Shadowrun became as popular as D&D then.
