There was a time when comic book adaptation were all pretty sucky as well. It only takes one decent flick to change that. That being said, I doubt WoW will be the one to do it.

It's about time

Woohoo! I hope you put up some pics from the event!

How does that explain all the homosexuals who did not have a traumatic experience in their formative years?
-
While it may not be "innate" (i.e. environmental effects may influence it, not purely biology), I have an exceptionally hard time believing that someone "chooses" to be a member of a marginalized group in society, and all the negative stigma associated with it. If it was merely a choice, wouldn't people choose to become heterosexual rather than killing themselves because of being ostracized for being a homosexual? Certainly their are some that choose to be part of a marginalized group, but on such a large scale as homosexuality? That seems highly unlikely. You are looking at numbers in the millions, and it is a group that has existed throughout human history. Typically I've responded to the whole choice argument with this: Do you make a conscious decision to be attracted to members of the opposite sex? Do you look at a list of necessary requirements before decided that a girl is hot? I certainly don't. It requires no work on my part to be attracted to most women. So if someone is really having to make a conscious choice, I see a problem already.

As long as there are arctic mud crabs, it is a first day purchase for me.

Not if they play like they did against Miami

John Karp, also known as Kelverin, was born on October 24th, 1964. He lived in Temecula, California, with his wife and 7-year old son. He ran his own cleaning business for a number of years. Kelverin was a big San Diego sports fan, rooting for the Padres and the Chargers every year. He was always good for a conversation about Football and Baseball, it was clearly a passion of his. He was also a fan of the classic games like Baldur

While Im not 100% sure, I believe Kelverin lost his battle with oral cancer and passed away earlier this year. For the last 6-7 years he was part of our fantasy football league and when he didnt report in this year a few of us went looking for him. His real name shows up on an obituary in his home town, his email has been disconnected and calling his telephone results in a different person now answering. Maybe he just took the long walk into the internet wasteland but Im fairly certain hes gone. That is really sad to hear. I had thought as much, based on the threads in that fantasy football league. He will be missed. I wish I could find more information about this somewhere. I know he had a 7-year old boy, and it would be nice if there was something we could do for him. How frustrating. I wish we had said something when he was going through his health issues.

I apologize for not interpreting your rant correctly. I hope the hockey gods will forgive my transgression.

I had no problem with Favre coming back this year. He didn't go back and forth about it, he made his decision in a timely manner. He also has a super impressive number of consecutive starts. That being said, I wonder if his body can handle another season. He's always kind of rotated one good year/one bad year, but physically I think it will be tough to come back next year.

I played it way back in the day, when it was brand new. It was interesting, but it isn't comparable to Xcom. It's kind of like playing Chess or something. You plan a move, your opponent plans theirs, and then you watch the results.

Those are underrated games? You can't rate JA2 high enough. If you try and rate it using any type of scale, you have already underrated it. On a scale of 1-10, it is an 11. But really, it isn't as well known as a game like Xcom, and QfG also doesn't get the same attention as other adventure game series form that era. Minesweeper is better than Solitaire. Deal with it!

AP is the best game I played this year. I preferred it to F:NV, although both were fantastic. It is the ultimate game of choice and consequence.

Nah, what will happen is that everybody will... "acquire" it, some people will like it, some won't and a few claimed that after having "bought" it, they put it down in disgust after 30 minutes. And I'll keep wondeirng why I come here. Probably because I need a mental reset button every 30-60 minutes when writing. Trust me Nepenthe. You can go back and look at the threads for ME1 and ME2. The first month is excitement and satisfaction from almost all the people posting. The negativity sets in later. It's a ritual that most Bioware games go through here. It also happens with Bethesda games, Fallout 3 was very well received originally, although Oblivion had a pretty short satisfaction phase, if I remember correctly.

Since we are on the topic, here is a great interview with the Gollop's about the creation of the Xcom trilogy: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-11-...x-com-interview

News at 11, Pope has become a bot! I actually can't remember any good games from back then, it was a long time ago. Was the Secret of Mana on the PS? That was a cool multiplayer RPG.

I have a hard time believing the level scaling will be anywhere near as bad as it was in Oblivion. Wasn't there level scaling on a smaller scale in Fallout? I didn't notice it there, which is good. As for the Radiant AI being deceptive, I recognize that it is a very difficult thing to program. I don't think Bethesda was blatantly lying. AI is hard. They pulled a bit of a Peter Molyneaux with their expectations, but it hardly seemed intentional.

What will happen is ME3 will come out, and all the people who bought it will come on and talk about how great it is. Then months will pass and those positive people will move on to other things, and then the grumpy folks will take over the thread. Rinse, wash, repeat.
