  1. How does "Protesting killing" (which is basically what they're attempting to do I believe... the military protests and such are protesting the taking of lives and not living by the strictest code of the bible) fall under "satanist"? They're not protesting killing, they believe it's good that our soldiers are dying because US allows homosexuality. They also believe that it's good that a small child was killed for the same reason. They also try to add as much as they can to the anguish of the families of the fallen. So if they believe their deity approves of them, their deity must be Satan. That made a surprising amount of sense. I would definitely say these folks fail to grasp the teachings of Jesus in any way.
  2. Coming of age stories are a basic staple of literature and film. It was just odd to hear you say the coming of age stories of incredibly successful people are not interesting.
  3. So...coming of age stories are all rubbish? Someone better alert, like, everyone!
  4. Ok, I'll put a picture of my daughter up if you want to use it Orogun
  5. Google took considerably longer to develop its empire than Facebook. Still, I am sure they could tell the story well enough. Did you ever see Pirates of Silicon Valley? I thought that was a great telling of the Steve Jobs/Bill Gates story.
  6. The Facebook guy has a net worth of almost $7 billion. When someone becomes hugely successful nearly overnight, there is usually a story there. I haven't seen the movie, but apparently they told that story in a very entertaining way. According to the Facebook guy they also put in a lot of false stuff, but you should never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
  7. Sorry Orogun, I only pose for nude action shots involving expensive cheese.
  8. I'm on slow DSL, I get about 50k download rates. 12 gigs would take me about a week.
  9. The crazy thing about the picture is it was taken right after the shooting. While there are plenty of ugly people out there, most probably wouldn't be grinning like a moron after going on a shooting spree. Most also wouldn't go on a shooting spree, I suppose.
  10. Is the point to be a ****, no matter what? Sure looks like it! *Richard. A small one. To be honest, I never actually read Gromnir's posts. I'll skim them a bit, but the edited quote stood out because it was extremely tasteless and rude. I can't even bring myself to try and decipher his gibberish response. Ha, good fun, I guess. Nepenthe, I wouldn't waste time with a guy that posts as a make believe character all the time.
  11. I actually thought it was extremely inappropriate for Gromnir to misquote Nepenthe in a way that made him look like a pedophile. For a lawyer, that seemed like a pretty blatant case of libel.
  12. That is fantastic. Thank you for posting it, my entire outlook on mankind has brightened Please tell me you're being sarcastic. Please. Nope. Now I did say brightened, not radically altered. In fact you are the one who brought up change. My opinion is there is a long way to go. But I am a positive person, and this is a very positive action. I'm confused what you folks mean by staged? Thousands of Muslims got together to show support for the Coptic Christians. It was clearly an organized event with the media involved. How does that lessen it?

I never judge too much on a pilot. I'll give it two more episodes and see how it paces itself. It probably needs to maintain a decent chunk of the Chuck audience to survive the season, which seems feasible enough. Who knows?

It looks like the mom is going to take on a legal role and be involved in the fight in some way as well. This would be fine, and might actually be a plot strength, except you still have the young boy who now both parents are placing in danger by their actions. A better plotline would have the boy dying, both parents getting angry about it. The Cape takes it out on the criminal element, the wife blames the Cape and refuses to have anything to do with him, but does get involved in the fight through the court system. That frees the Cape up to do his thing without the wife and kid tying him down.
  15. I would probably turn to the parents more than the mental health industry here. It sounds like he had mental problems throughout his life, and his parents needed to help him with that much earlier. I am sure we will learn more, and I'm not looking to place full blame on them or anything, but I think they were in the best position to help him before he got this bad.

  17. With Inception, it's a personal choice, it was left open-ended on purpose. Someone mentioned the kids were wearing different clothes in the end scene than the earlier memories, and that was enough for me to go with it as a good ending.

Anyone else catch the pilot for The Cape? There were some things I really liked, and a few that bothered me a bit. The cast is very good, with some inspired choices like Scales and the entire circus troupe, oh and the guy from West Wing. So far the lead actor is the only guy that I wasn't impressed with, which is a bit of a problem. But he might turn out ok, it is always tough to tell in a pilot when they are trying to build an entire backstory for the guy in a very short timeframe. Summer Glua (Firefly girl) is in it as well, I didn't really get her character though. It's a bit hard to get into her as a normal person, since she has always played less than human roles. I guess we will see how it works out for her. The story was a bit frenetic, but again it was a pilot and I know they try and force a lot in there to get it greenlit. It was good enough to get me to watch a few more episodes. It's basically Batman, but isn't necessarily a bad thing. Oh, the whole family angle isn't working for me.
  19. What if I really only buy these open world games for the first half?
  20. Ok, I won't answer. All you need is a glove and some lube though, but I digress. Actually I was thinking about testicular cancer when I mentioned the self exams
  21. I got quite a few invisible barriers in Risen as well.
  22. pathetic I like that he used Turbine as his success story. LotRO is awesome, and the microtransaction system they put into place works better than I ever imagined. I was pretty skeptical about it at first, but it is great, attracts new players, and doesn't feel out of place or like I'm being nickel and dimed to death.
  23. It seemed like a story with some potential, but it just went stupid about halfway through. If he had actually worked towards bringing the system down, that would be one thing. But it lost me when he started blowing up interns.
  24. That's a bummer Gorgon, but better safe than sorry, I suppose. I believe my first prostrate exam was in my early twenties. Took me a bit by surprise. I haven't had one in about 8 years though, but I check 'em on a regular basis myself. Remember folks, you lower your risks of prostrate cancer by regularly firing the cannon, if you get my drift.
