After finishing Deus Ex, I got back into Age of Conan. This game is unbelievable looking. It might beone of the best looking games I've ever played, and for an MMO that is really saying something. I've reached the lands of the Kithai, which is basically China. They have a Great Wall and I'm doing quests for a bunch of Mongols at this point. They have other names, but all the areas are pretty much based on real stuff. I just left Egypt, which was pretty amazing as well. My character was a level 21 Aquilonian Conquerer I made back when the game came out 3 years ago. I played around with some new characters until I remembered how to play, and then started in on him again. He's up to level 25 now, it seems to have a pretty quick leveling pace. I'm still a bit confused about some of my abilities, but it's coming to me. The gameplay is pretty quick and definitely requires a bit of concentration, which is a change from most MMO's.

I enjoyed the Panchea section, I thought it was suitably creepy at first. The zombies were pretty easy to get around too.

That's good to hear GD, and fantastic news about Tarna. It was a pretty good Labor Day weekend. Saturday my wife and I went out with another couple, and we ended up at a bar with over 100 beers on tap, it was awesome. Then yesterday I played a round of golf with my dad, and today I went on a bike ride and had a nice brunch with some friends. I also ran a ton of errands with the extra day off, so I'm feeling good about starting the work week.

I just had a brief twinge of concern that Volourn hasn't been posting in awhile. Weird.

That wouldn't even cover the cost of the trailers. It would be a huge failure if the game doesn't do really really well, especially if their decide to build a franchise on the IP is true. I doubt they are counting the Steam numbers in those figures, and I think that is a large chunk of PC sales at this point.

See, I negated that entire thing and got him with the typhoon. I can't believe everyone didn't see the a mile off. You know, I saw it, but I decided to do it anyways. It still worked out, made for an interesting fight. Same here actually. It was one of those things that I knew was going to come back and bite me in the ass later, but I still did it just to see what would happen. Boss fight was trivial. I stunlocked the boss in his little corner with frag mines. Took about 4 or 5 before he went down for good. See, I think we are just used to doing stupid things in games to further the plot. It happens all the time in other games. Heck, it happens in the cut scenes in Deus Ex. Sure, my alarm bells went off when it was put in my quest log, but the shiny arrow was pointing at that LIMB clinic and I can't just ignore that.

For the boss where your brain is scrambled, I just unloaded with a huge laser for awhile. He was still a pain though. I think I'm close to the end of the game.

I did feel this way when I met the first boss...

I though BF2 was a blast, but I also loved the floating airships in BF2142.

As Tale said, the difference between Battlefield and the Bad Company games is an emphasis on consoles and an actual single player campaign. Battlefield 3 has a single player campaign, I believe, so it is breaking from the tradition there. It is still a return to the big maps with jets and a ton of players, so I'll pick it up day one without question. I could care less about a single player element, I plan on hiding in the hills and shooting as many people as I can in the head from 300 yards out.

Technically Battlefield games are on a 1-2 year cycle. The gap between BF2142 and BF3 was filled with the Bad Company games.

Yeah, I don't know. It seems like the game has been moving away from the bruising style of the past, but is that making it more dangerous? Guys used to spend so much time tied up together that they didn't have the space to really skate. The three enforcers who died seems like a separate issue. It seems like these guys aren't being given a decent support system.

AP still trumps DX with the dialogue, and I'm pretty sure the reactive storyline in AP is superior as well. Not that I'm knocking DX:HR, it's fantastic. I wish AP looked and played like DX. But they are both fantastic games for different reasons.

Don't need heavy. Stun gun or 10mm + 1 emp grenade. I ended up figuring it out. Watching a video helped me realize that once I took out the heavies and the bot, I had a bit more time to pick off the other guys. I kept trying to rush and ended up getting myself killed. I used the typhoon twice, one to take out a couple heavies and one to take out the walker robot. Then I knocked out a couple guys with rifles, and used my pistol to shoot some conveniently placed explosive barrels near the snipers. The tranq gun was just too slow for me, plus it isn't always effective. Maybe I needed to upgrade it and my aim skills, but I still got it done with a pistol.

I'm in beta and enjoying my time with it. Will I be playing this at launch? Yes, in fact I've already cancelled my WoW and Lord of the Rings accounts. Don't see how that is violating the NDA unless I go into specifics, which I'm not going to do. I'm pretty close to cancelling LotRO. I already cancelled Rift. I know I'm going to get way into TOR when it finally comes out and I doubt it is going to be a short term appeal.

I'm trying to save the pilot but really doing a bad job. Curse my lack of any heavy armaments!

I love the double takedown. I use it quite often.

It makes perfect sense to me. Why is that hard to understand? It's been ten years, it's time to stop pointing fingers and gesticulating angrily and start moving forward. When we bring up the perpetrators, we only serve them by doing so. Remember the fallen and rebuild.

One time I electrocuted myself trying to fix my dryer. I decided at that point to leave any electrical repairs to electricians. I have been playing with my HP tablet, but it is quite limited. The apps are underwhelming, and I've had trouble getting my digital copies of movie to work. I'll keep trying, and hope that the Android OS port isn't too far away.

I loved the warning emails that some computers have about how their inbox is almost at the 4 message limit. It was a clever spin on the fact that a real computer would have a ton of junkmail to look through.

No, Invisible War is a good game. It just didn't measure up to the original and had some questionable design decisions.

Hrm, I turned the turret on. Does that count as non-pacifist? I mean, they chose to run into the turret's line of sight.

I went to a birthday dinner with my folks, and my dad bought me an HP Tablet. He said he spotted a couple online right when the price was slashed, and he decided there wasn't anything to lose at that price. I'm stoked, it's very slick. Now I just need to figure out how to get the Android OS to work on it.
