  1. Hey, Korea got M.A.S.H., it doesn't need anything else.
  2. I loved that guys videos. I wonder what ever happened to him?
  3. I will say it has been faster to load BF3 with the Origin DRM check than all of my Steamwork games. It's the reason I've softened on my stance about it, I used to be fairly annoyed that I needed to use two separate things for games, but Origin is really pretty tame.
  4. I double-checked it, they are definitely not charging you an extra $5 over the normal $60 if you pre-order. I'm not sure about the UK price. They are limiting the amount of pre-orders available to stop the server from getting totally swamped, they are also offering early access depending on when you pre-ordered. That has been crazy too, apparently Best Buy sold a bunch of CE's that they had no codes for, and they probably won't get enough inventory to fill their orders. I cancelled and went with Wal-Mart, which meant I paid extra for shipping but I figure it's a safer bet. I don't plan on buying many games through Origin, but then I don't really buy new games from Steam either. I prefer a nice box to put on a shelf.
  5. It's not an extra pre-order charge, they charge you $5 for the pre-order, and then that $5 counts towards your final cost. I know there was some confusion about the way they explained it in their store, but it was later clarified.
  6. I second Malcador's query. They are charging the standard price for TOR, $15 a month.
  7. I'm not a big fan of comparing games with incredibly different graphical stylings, myself.
  8. What do you mean? I think it got plenty of love, it's almost bug free and it took the best from B2 and put it in a futuristic setting. Plus B3 classes are taken directly from 2142. It's just that no one ever really talks about it. I'm not sure how financially successful it was, but it seems to get as little press as BF: Vietnam.
  9. I never understood why 2142 didn't get more love. It was epic.
  10. You join games and handle all the social aspects through your browser. Once you choose a server, it launches the game. I disliked it tremendously at first, but it has grown on me quickly.
  11. I worked at my daughter's Pre-School today, then we went to a Halloween party at a place with all those inflatable jumping things. I'm exhausted.
  12. That's pretty unlikely. You know that BF3 doesn't actually use Origin, right? It just acts as an activation portal, similar to the way Steam does. The game is handled through your browser, which after a bit of time has turned out to be pretty awesome. How is that awesome? That you need to alt-tab to access function that game interface should provide is a major flaw IMO. And since when a full fledged DRM is called an "activation portal"? Waaah waaah. It's an online game. I guess I could see you complaining if you were playing for the single player campaign, but if you buy BF3 for that, you've already lost. It's a great way to keep track of friends and platoons. Its basically a social networking site for the game, except instead of a thumbs up 'like' button you give a Hooah! And I'm talking about Battlelog, not Origin. It doesn't use Origin at all. I don't even notice it is on most of the time, I would actually say it's less intrusive than Steam.
  13. I'm surprised you guys would think he could score as low as 40. Maybe I'm optimistic for him but I don't see him scoring under 50 points I can see it. One, he might miss a few games due to injury. The older you are, the harder it is to bounce back from stuff, so I really think 70 games is more likely than 82. I'm not talking major injuries, just general bumps and bruises that come from a tough NHL season. Two, I'm assuming he isn't as fast as he once was. I haven't seen enough of his play to really know for sure, but it's normal to slow down at this age.

  15. I would say 40-60 points would be about right. He will get that power play time, which will probably net 30 points in itself.
  16. Battlefield games have always really been about large conquest maps where you fight a nice big group with helicopters & jets buzzing by overhead while trying to not get bombed by tanks. BF3 does that very well. I miss zip lines though.
  17. I am really bad at BF3. I got 4 kills in my first hour. I have no idea what is happening. The single player campaign didn't really interest me. I started it, but it seemed pretty standard.
  18. I don't think anyone was trying to argue they are the same religion. It was more about having the same definition of God. Mohammad literally says Muslims worship the same God as Abraham and Jesus.
  19. The similarities between the way the three monotheistic religions define God far outweigh the differences. Your argument is weak. They all worship the same God. Just ask the King of Abyssinia.
  20. Yep, they will be the first studio to literally work someone to death too
  21. PC? what's your origin name? I think it is Hurlshot24. That is my battleface name or whatever too.
  22. While I can understand not being a fan of GTA's style of play, I don't know how you can say they are overrated. They painstakingly recreate cities. Plus RDR and LA Noire have gone a step further by meticulously recreating a time period and atmosphere. Rockstar is an an ambitious studio that continues to push the limits of gaming. They are the exact opposite of the folks making CoD.
  23. Awesome, I will be on BF3 tonight when I get the kids to bed.
  24. I would say it looks like an 8 year old game, which it is.
  25. I thought I read that you can choose servers pretty easily that aren't in your country. But whether it will be worth the ping rate it another story.
